Decrease, where? The Colossal XP drinks remained constant, while the Ultra XP drinks increased; how do you see that as a possible decrease?
I’ve been keeping track of how much XP we get from each difficulty of the Docks; here’s a graph of the low, average, and high amounts of XP the past 13 difficulties have given (just the base amount, not including the doubling at VIP level 4):
Admittedly, the average is calculated under the assumption that the probabilities for each amount are symmetric around the median (e.g., that it’s equally probable to get 15 Ultra XP drinks or 25 Ultra XP drinks, 16 Ultra XP drinks or 24 Ultra XP drinks, etc.); I think that’s a safe assumption, but if anyone wants to collect data to test it, feel free.
Anyway, while the low and high lines, since the introduction of Colossal XP drinks, have both been dancing around like a teenager with squirrels in her pants, the average has been rising consistently in a reasonably straight line. So I don’t really see a problem with the number of Colossal XP drinks staying the same for this new difficulty, since the number of Ultra XP drinks increased enough to make up for it.
IMHO, there is a problem with the XP amount increasing linearly, while the XP requirements historically increase at a faster rate; but since the Docks aren’t the major source of XP for players anyway, I don’t think it’s a serious problem.
It’s simple enough to collect data to test that theory. Just keep track of the number of XP bottles of each kind you get every time you fight/raid the Docks; preferably get a few friends to give you their numbers as well, because you’ll need at least a couple hundred readings to draw any meaningful conclusions. And don’t forget to adjust for whether players are getting double the amount via their VIP levels.
