The sign in heroes were only really viable until Red rank. But the heroes were getting their Red skills up until R12-R13 era.

I thought you said that the sign in rewards isn’t adding heroes
What I said is that the amount of chips we were getting for them wasn´t even good since late 2019 when Red Skills were introduced.

how is 200k (literally less than a contest gives) disk power a positive direction? It´s barely 6 disk levels! In a month!
Compared to 1.9M in Battle Pass and 1.03M in Contest Progress… just HOW

I suppose I’ll give my two cents, starting with my opinion that, given that we get these rewards just for signing in and making a couple of taps, we really shouldn’t be expecting anything extravagantly generous from them.
On the plus side, they are, on the whole, much improved from the previous sign-in rewards. Most days it feels like I’m getting something I can use, as opposed to just tapping through to get it done for the day and guarantee I get the last batch of hero chips on the 30th day. The double drop consumables, by themselves, make it a remarkably positive change; the Badge Booster and Guaranteed Cosmetic crates are nice little bonuses as well.
On the other hand, even for a free daily check-in reward, the disk power and non-guaranteed Cosmetic Crates seem a bit low to me; hopefully increasing those in the future is a possibility. The biggest disappointment, though, is having the three Badge Booster crates on the 31st day, meaning that 5 months out of the year they won’t be available. I’d really like to see those swapped with the Guaranteed Cosmetic Crate on the 30th, so they’d be available 11 out of 12 months.

No… cosmetic crates have more value, especially against only 3 badge crate.
Badge crates in other days should be increased to 5 in each, giving 10 crates per month, and the 31. day should just give some gold or diamonds as a extra instead.

If overall Disk Power, badge crates (excluding the last day) and “purple” cosmetic crates gave at least the worth of half of a month of contests (so like 500k disk power, 35 badge crates and 65 cosmetic crates), I´d call the sign-in decent, maybe even great. Now though uhm… naaaah.

Agree completely with this, the 31 slot should be occupied by something of relative insignificance, given that we will receive it less than half of the time - not subjectively the most valuable reward in the whole grid. Maybe one of the gold rewards

This has been one of the big issues of the game… too many heroes. I’m all for letting us work on the ones we have rather than constantly feeling like I’m falling behind.

Personally I would say that we had a looong period of focusing on heroes now we can have a long period focusing on making the modes good by current standards.
@Nugget im sure Disney don’t tells you how to make the sign in rewards but this „upgrade“ was just another slap in our faces! The prices are trash and so low that you can skip them. Same about guild check in rewards… shame!
Well as @Loutre said before… (or was it indeed Nugget?) the sign-in rewards are meant to be insignificant.
Honestly though, there could have been so much more variety if the low (trash?) rewards weren´t split into 3 (XP Drinks, Disk Power, Cosmetic Crates) or even 4! (Gold, Diamonds).
well this month pretty much confirms that the placement of the 3 Badge Crates was intentionally inaccessible
