I know people who do that all week long. Not just for contests.
Not in challenger div 2 final week for rewards. Those CW resets are valuable.
Stealing half a super market would be a felony and get you locked up while stealing bread will probably just get you kicked out of the store for literally like a day. Just lumping it together as the same crime is already an unfair comparison. Tbh the employees probably wouldn’t even care about the one loaf of bread.
Putting up a weak defense is stealing nothing. They gain nothing from it. It is in absolutely no way as abusive as the previous issue. Anyone is allowed to put whatever characters they want to defend their positions.
I didn’t say they would be comparable in a punitive way. Obviously it would be treated differently in that regard, but under the law both are wrong. Employees looking away wouldn’t make it right, just acceptable by the general population, but the law would still be the same.
And like I said it’s not an issue of me asking for any kind of punishment. I want to know if it’s acceptable within TOS since it isn’t an intended use of game play. I am not advocating for anything more than an answer to this issue. My only reason for bringing up the previous contest issue was to say that a precedent has been set by community admins and PB regarding unintended forms of play. Instead of participating this time around, I’m asking the question.
Apparently people still feel some kind of way about the last contest, even though rewards were stripped and suspensions given. I don’t understand why people would still be upset about it, but that’s for another thread. If you take a look objectively at what I’m saying, you would be able to see my point.
Being able to decide who people want in their defense is intended use of gameplay. The reason people mention the previous contest is because you compared the two when they aren’t similar in any way.
Totally diffrent scenerio then people lowering your defense to help others. People are only getting one set of rewards in this case. In the other contest you were referring to of people losing rewards, that is because they were in one guild got all the tier rewards, jumped to another guild and got double the rewards. Getting double the rewards is more of manipulating the system because the people double benefited with rewards. Total diffrent scenerio.
And you say you don’t want to debate, but honestly that’s what posting a forum topic is about, especially when others disagree and explain why. It’s about open communication. If perblue kept taking more things away from the players enjoyment of the game (like making contests even more difficult) the only ones that would be left are the employees or the big spenders, and that is not good for the game at all. Free to play players are equally as important to fill in the gaps of guilds.
The point of this contest is to spend gold or resources so you can win with the contest toons. People dropping lines/ or attacking dropped lines should be suspended for abusing TOS for the distribution of extra rewards.
Like I’ve said before, I understand the nuanced differences. I only referenced the last contest because that’s when a precedent was set. Most posts responding to me are ignoring my main point and justifying whatever their opinion is. I have asked my question and explained several times. I probably won’t be responding to the thread anymore. I asked here to get a specific response from Loutre regarding the rules.
I will say, this contest is likely easy enough to that most would have gotten all the Progress Rewards anyway, so it is more so about convenience and how fast you can get all the Progress Rewards.
Beside, lowering the line power to collaboratively help each other specifically for a contest I don’t see any problem wise, like when it isn’t contest I see players have their lines as high powered as possible, so it is just a community helping each other.
I don’t think PerBlue has ever been specifically against people helping each other during contests from what I have seen, though PerBlue are against players gaining the Progress Rewards multiple times and have taken action against those players who have done it. Like switched guilds to get the Progress Rewards more than 1 time.
While I am interested in hearing Loutre’s take on this, but from what I can say in my experience I am pretty sure most would have managed to get all the Progress Rewards this week as the contest is relatively easy so it is just about how long it takes. Lowering the power of the lines for this week likely didn’t change the outcome that much this week, so it is mainly convince and less stressing which I think is fine :-).
They spend a lot of gold . Ex: For Sv23, 20M contest points if you spend more than 6B Gold
You think someone with only 15 m total power spent 6bil gold?
Maybe they purchase
Total power isn’t related to the contest
Here is my
I spend Dimonds in challanger arena to get my points. (5,000+)
No purchase. Which I save Dimonds
This proves the point we are trying to make. The contest is being manipulated by players so they can spend diamonds and use the low power heroes in arena to win it. This is not how the contest is intended. It is intended that you build the contest heroes and get points for beating normal arena lines.
Exactly. Thanks for the additional example.
How are you saving diamonds when you are spending? Just curious
Prize wall, arena, and Coliseum
Again there is nothing wrong with players helping one another in contests.
Just becuase you don’t want to help other players finish their tiers and others dont spend like you do, doesn’t mean people should be punished for it. Paying to play is not the only form of playing this game. This game is too pay to play as is, just let people enjoy getting tiers. If this game was anymore pay to play, perblue would have to change their slogan of freedom to play to pay to play.
Like come on now, I know so many people on my server that ask for it to be done to help others, especially on the lower end. I’m sorry if your server doesn’t feel the same.
