The classes I can think of off the top of my head are Paladin, Cleric, Druid, Ranger, Bard, Rogue, Fighter, Monk, Wizard, Sorcerer, and Warlock.

Wizard, Sorcerer, and Warlock are different strains of the same thing, sort of.

Wizards study for their magic, sorcerers have it from their bloodline usually, and warlocks have it from a deal with a higher power.
There’s also other differences, but I’ve never actually played.

Another aspect to characters are the races. Human, elf, orc, half-orc, warforged (robot), kobold, goblin, tortle, tabaxi (cat), dragonborn (scaly), and dozens of others.
