Another Luca trailer came out today.
So now that we are almost at release date, what are your hopes for the film? What do you look forward to most?
I think I’m most interested in seeing Gulia catch on that the two boys are sea monsters.
Yes.
I honestly do not know what I am most excited for, but I would love to watch this film that is perfect for summer at the drive in movie theater if I can. I will likely love this film. It is just so adorable!
I’ve never been to one.
I think I’m going to watch it release day on my couch with my family. So I have the power of: II (pause)
It is really fun! I would love to tell you about it sometime.
I can only think of the scene at the end of Cars rn, lol.
Edit:
already exists
It’s good that you clarified, but stil a song came to mind: The power of two
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the movie indeed! It’s Pixar, so it will be great! And emotional probably… (Although not as deep as Soul I think)
I’m Reviving the topic since the film came out yesterday.
I honestly found the film very boring, and the plot twists to be very predictable.
Spoilers
The whole point of water turns them into sea monsters wasn’t always followed, because in the end of the movie Luca is going on a train to school and it is raining, while the train is leaving he doesn’t get wet but Alberto does.
There were only two characters I found enjoyable were Luca’s dad (played by Jim gaffigan) and Luca’s uncle
Spoilers
The main villain of he film isn’t a very memorable one, he tries to murder Luca and Alberto and all that happens is that he gets shoved in a fountain, the irony is not lost (due to him trying to push Luca in that same fountain) it just felt like his defeat needed a little more.
Overall I can request this film to people who like finding Nemo but with a fish instead. I can’t really see this getting a sequel, but possibly an original Disney+ series. This film reminded me to much of the good Dinosaur and felt like it took to much from the plots of both finding Nemo and the little mermaid for me to enjoy.
Interesting, I actually found the story very enjoyable and well-written. For the first time in a long while, Pixar went back to its roots by masking complex emotions behind a beautiful simplicity. It wasn’t trying to be something it couldn’t, and to me the details were very carefully crafted.
In Response to Grim’s Spoilers
“The whole point of water turns them into sea monsters wasn’t always followed, because in the end of the movie Luca is going on a train to school and it is raining, while the train is leaving he doesn’t get wet but Alberto does.”
That’s not really true; they are standing on a covered porch. Luca doesn’t get wet until the train pulls out of the tunnel because of the direction the rain was hitting the train. Alberto was more out in the open when it hit him while Luca was kind of tucked in.
“ This film reminded me to much of the good Dinosaur and felt like it took to much from the plots of both finding Nemo and the little mermaid for me to enjoy.”
For the first 5-10 minutes of the film, the plot bears some noticeable resemblance to the little mermaid but becomes something very different as soon as Alberto comes into the picture. It really has no similarities to the plot points of Finding Nemo though, aside from having a sea.
The Good Dinosaur, I have no idea where you see similarities lol.
Luca for me wasn’t really intresting, not much was happening, and first 20 minutes were quite boring.
Well it’s kinda cool for a movie with two boys that are sea monsters that turn to human on land
I thought Luca was an incredibly good little movie with wonderful characters and an uplifting story that hit hard at times. I also loved the setting and the music, and I love that the town’s name is a direct reference to Porco Rosso (another wonderful feel-good tale that takes place in Italy), following in the Disney/Pixar tradition of paying homage to Hayao Miyazaki at every possible chance.
Very, very strong film. An easy 9.5/10.
I seen the movie with my little brother its amzing and magnficent masterpice defintly should getting a squel
The movie was so emotional that I predict that it may be nominated for Oscar for best animated feature film next year.
Watched t twice now.
Loved it
Found A113 on the second watch through
Did anyone find Pizza Planet or the “clue” to Turning Red?
