Princesses?

Aren’t Elsa and Vanellope Disney Princesses? I think they should appear in such a section in Collections. What do y’all think?

The Disney Princess fransishe is very specific in it’s list and Elsa and Vanellope are not part of it.

Elsa was at first going to be part of it, but became too popular, so Frozen got own merchandising.

Vanellope does not appear in a classical Disney Princess type movie, but I don’t kniw the exact reason why she is not on the Disney list.

To conclude: the developers of the game can’t and won’t change it

Disney chooses who belongs to the franchise. Elsa brings more profit as a part of the Frozen franchise. What about Vans, idk, I don’t see a lot of merch with her.

There is a series called Disney Princesses or something like that that has princesses who mostly look like stereotypical princesses. But because Vanellope and Elsa not only don’t look like stereotypical princesses, they don’t act like ones either. So they aren’t really part of that series and thus not part of this collection. The same goes for Merida.

Not, it doesn’t.
Merida is a official Princess.

Elsa for most of time in both movies was a Queen.
And Vanellope, she is Princess, but same as Elsa rejected their royal title.

If Anna will come to DHBM she won’t be as well in Princess collection as she is a Queen now.

Things get tough with Princess Eilonwy, she was born a Princess, adventurous as most of newer Princesses and overall fits well to be Disney’s official Princess.
But guess Disney is silly and only because movie wasn’t the biggest hit she didn’t joined the club. Shame.

Merida was my only mistake

So the rule is no animals (so no Nala)
Mulan is considered one because she did a good deed (thats mulan)
Vanellope is technically a president (so no her)
And frozen like it was said above Elsa is queen (so no elsa)

Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame was a princess at one point until 2004.

We have had this conversation multiple times now. Here are the requirements for being considered official:

  1. Have a primary role in a film (animated)
  2. Be human or become human
  3. Don’t be the primary star in a sequel
  4. Be royal, marry royal, or perform an act of heroism
  5. Make money, but not too much money (this one is an unsaid rule)

You’re allowed to be the primary star of the sequel as Disney Princess (like how Mulan is the lead in Mulan 2). The requirement is not to be introduced in a sequel. You have to be in an original movie to become a Princess.

The rest of the rules are spot on! Certainly the last one :joy:

Yes… the last one :frowning:
Poor Eilonwy deserves that spot, but Disney. :money_with_wings:

That is what I meant.

Plus, Vanellope technically renounces her princess status to be president. Even if she seems to go back to being a princess in RBtI…

To be fair here is one more mistake Kida is a princess too, which doesn’t appear in collection…

She might be royalty and a princess, but she is not official. Look at the official rules. Kida is not a princess most likely because her movie did not make enough and possibly the fact she is more of a side character as the movie is more about Milo.

Well if she’s not the main character and that’s why Kida is not the official Disney Princess, what about Jasmine? She wasn’t the main “guy”, either.

The Atlantis movie also did not make a lot of money.

The rule is to be the female lead in an (original) animated movie. Kida would thus make it according to the official rules. She did, however, not check the last very important unofficial one: making a lot of money.

Y’all are focused on the wrong rules here.

Those rules are to specifically become part of the real world franchise “Disney Princesses” but is not relating to what actually makes a Disney Princess.

Since this game is based off the Wreck-it Ralph video game internet lore, then we must take into consideration that in his most recent film many digital versions of the princesses appear as residents of the Internet.

Vanellope von Schweetz encounters the group during her visit to “Oh My Disney” then Vanellope reveals herself to be the princess of Sugar Rush and is subsequently inducted into the line-up. Not including Vanellope, the fourteen official princesses of the court are designated as:

Snow White
Cinderella
Aurora
Ariel
Belle
Jasmine
Pocahontas
Mulan
Tiana
Rapunzel
Merida
Anna
Elsa
Moana

And the questions/requirements to join them are…

  • Rapunzel Asks : Do you have Magic Hair ?

  • Elsa Asks : [Do you have] Magic Hands ?

  • Cinderella Asks : Do Animals Talk to you?

  • Snow White Asks : Were you poisoned?

  • Aurora and Tiana Ask : [Were you] cursed?

  • Belle and Rapunzel (again) Ask : [Were you] kidnapped or enslaved?

  • And finally, Rapunzel (for the third time) Asks the Final Question : Do people assume All your Problems got Solved because a Big Strong Man showed up?

So that’s the correct (cannon) questioning system that y’all need to be using if you want to judge who are Disney Princesses here in this game specifically.

If you want to judge who belongs in the Princess collection, though, you have to play by Disney’s rules, and they’re apparently going with their official Disney Princess line. PerBlue can’t change that, because they have to follow what Disney tells them. If you think Vanellope, Kida, Elsa, or someone else belongs in the Princess collection, you’ll have to write to Disney and explain why.

If you’re just making a list of Disney Princesses in the game for forum polls or whatnot, though, your reasoning makes more sense. It’s just not what the game can use to determine who’s in the Princess collection.
