For the questions yesterday for why we do server merges: Over time the size of the server goes down. This is natural for free to play games and people move on. So to keep things competitive and fun, we merge server populations from time to time. It also helps us with logistics of planning content and events because there are fewer servers.

From a technical standpoint, how can the population number of the server go down?
As I understand it, active or inactive, an account will always be there.
So how do server merges retain the active accounts?

Is a pun (joke) rather to say It’s going to be devilish hard to get there but in other words.
They’re obviously referring to active players in their population counts. No one cares about inactive accounts.
So the team never considered a Account in Server 2 or 5 could do a account in server 1 to get some advantage of this merge?
As @Zelkiiro said we look at the active accounts and with server merges we do account consolidations so you can send a message to support and we can move your account over. I’ll make a post about that closer to the merge date. You can also look up previous merge posts to get more information.

please triple amount of places for challengers division 1, after merge.
Just for the record, I am not on one of the servers being merged.
I play on Server14 (Raspbeary Cake) and before that was Server16 (Jewel of Atlantis).
I miss that server name. 
I have never required an account consolidation, as I play on one server only.
I’m just asking out of curiosity to find out how the process works in determining active accounts and what happens to the inactive ones.
I assume an active account is one that has logged in within 30 days.
So what happens to the inactive accounts?
Are they deleted or moved to an archive server?
Yeah challengers division 1s should not be so exclusive anymore with so few servers starting next month

Yes, your server is staying and all your progress will be the same. You’re just gaining more people!

You know, sometimes I struggle a lot in Arena and Coliseum, especially when many players use almost the same characters, which honestly irritates me (No Offense). I honestly want it to be a little more of a fair game, I’m just saying.

No, it happens what most people told them already.
So many people stop to play and they lose. So, they merge to try to stop quiting players to play
Honestly I would like to see a new server that would go back from the very start, unrelated with anything we see on current state of servers.

So here the issue I have. We have a double cap raise and the last contest and the one that start tomorrow barely offer badge booster crates. These have been a blessing for the past months to help us continue to progress in this game so why remove them. I get the double cap raises and the server mergers. But why add salt to the wound by taking something as valuable as booster crates away?

True, we lost there 60 Badge Crates already. I am calling that a deficit and I want it back ASAP @Loutre. Unless the “something something” happens before Christmas, the team is pretty much screwed.
