Oh nice and congrats Pipsqueak ^^.
Definitely a feat for a F2P to be able to get first in the Arena Challenger overall, so definitely something you can be proud of :-).
If I can ask, what is your 15 best characters, like showing a screenshot?

Not a bad lineup at all and can definitely understand if you managed to get first in Challenger as a F2P with that well adapted and flexible lineup :-).

well technically i’m VIP 9, but picking up the odd $5 deal every few months is Free enough for me, when you consider the costs required and that many people spend 
Google Opinion Rewards contributes most of it 
just 1000+ days of active & efficient play

Is Nick relevant at Orange, or just red?
He needs his Red skill in order to really have an impact, but at orange is still decent in his own right for things like CW and Invasion breakers. Stick some purple skill mods on him for max SP boost

I think I would rather call you a small spender/small fish/occasional spender than F2P as F2P means not having spent at all mainly.
Hope you don’t mind me saying so, just an important distinction :-).
Of course, nothing wrong with spending money if you want to, just not sure if you can call yourself a true F2P if you have spent actual money.

I definitely think you are doing really well to be an occasional spender though, so definitely glad for you that you have gotten as far as you have ^^.

I agree, but I think paying a bit is sort of necessary in S2 so no hard feeling…
well yeah, I never claim to have spent 0 money at all. Over the course of nearly 3 years i’ve probably paid about what I would for a couple of premium console games - I think that’s a fair amount. The previous Arena champs have probably spent in the region of $15-20k each

I would definitely say that what you accomplished is definitely something extraordinary even if you aren’t per say 100% F2P, but price range wise you are likely the one who has spent the least and become the Arena Champion, so definitely an accomplishment and congrats Pipsqueak :-).
So yeah, definitely happy for you Pipsqueak ^^.

Also I just want to make clear, the point of the post wasn’t - “hey look at me, I’ve won the Arena and I haven’t spent much money so boo boo all the people who have”. (Though I am very proud of it). It was more to show that despite all the - valid - complaints about the ever-increasing cost of keeping up in the game, depending on your definition of success, it’s definitely still possible to succeed on a little-to-no budget with a bit of effort and good play
