His original name was Mortimer (names after walt’s pet mouse and Mortimer would later become a sexist rat in Mickey’s rival). Lillian Disney suggested he changed the name because it sounded not really cartoonish I think (also this was not googled I memorized this after researching Mortimer)

Correct. Lillian thought that Mortimer did not fit the character and suggested Mickey.
The 2nd one is tricky. I will wait for more people to try to answer that one before sharing.
