Trial Events Feedback

this doesn’t change at all it’s a 10-minute event… once it’s done… there’s nothing to do for 14 days. the story isn’t necessary.

and the normal trial event will always give more rewards as it can be completed 3 times across 13 days.

I haven’t gotten past 12 actually, which is likely due to not having Mad Hatter maxed Red skill wise.

I could probably get further, but so far not found the lineup to do it.
.

I don’t think you should focus on how fast you specifically clear the Trials, like it gives feedback that doesn’t benefit the majority of players at all, which is unhealthy and might lead to players more likely leaving unfortunately.

Bunch of people above said they didn’t needed him at all… so ehh.

Yes, as there’s nothing to do, 10-minute event is nothing.

Normal (wave) trial event is way better, and it was at perfection level with Raya event.

Campaign trial is not necessary it doesn’t reward badge booster crates and all the other rewards it gives is to laugh at tbh

Not found a team so far that have carried me past stage 12 at least.

It doesn’t take 10 minutes though for those you are stuck, for them it might take days.
So that’s an aspect one have to consider as well.

DON@ In regards to Badge Booster Crates, PerBlue could add Badge Booster Crates to the Campaign type of Event Trial, so I don’t think that should be considered an issue :-).

(I don’t have an upgraded Hatter and also cleared the trial in like 10 minutes).

However, that’s beside the point - anyone with insufficient power to complete or progress the event initially, is really unlikely to suddenly gain enough power within the event duration - and the rewards certainly aren’t worth spending large sums of money to do just that. So even if you can’t complete it, it’s still a very short event followed by a bunch of doing nothing.

For the Olaf trial, I got to stage 7 in a few minutes, could go no further thanks to the limited hero selection, and then ignored it for 2 weeks. :man_shrugging:

The forced duration of capping attempts per day is much better, in my opinion.

If Campaign Trials give 4000-ish diamond crates, I call them good. It’s weird people call them bad. As if they were whales :smirk:

Are those of you who are not enjoying the Campaign Trials players who are not free to play? Is it too easy for you?

I am just looking for more detail to share with the team.

I’m not F2P, and these campaign trials have been a nightmare. Couldn’t even finish the Olaf one.

For F2P players, it’s literally impossible.

Yes and no, Olaf trial was way too hard with just 15 use-able heroes, while all other campaign events just take 10 minutes.

Wave trial event is that better it allows for 3 fights every day, something what campaign trial event is missing.

Would be good to allow to get 3 fights everyday once all stages are completed, just so to get rewards from last stage again.

So would be best to remove campaign trial events completely and just keep releasing wave trial events which allows for 3 fights everyday.

Campaign trial event is definitely missing guaranteed cosmetic crates and badges crates, what is given in other trial event.

“Too easy”, no. I completed all of them but they were fairly challenging - with the Olaf one being actually a LITTLE too difficult imo

I’m F2P but I have significantly more heroes up than an average F2P - and I was lucky to have Kristoff as one of my top heroes for the Olaf trial

(Other than rewards that weren’t that awful anyway, but the lack of badge crates is def a minus) The problem would be literally what has been said here: the event can just be completed once it’s released, and then the whole 2 weeks it’ll be like no event is actually happening.

The wave ones are more fun because you can play them daily

If they can substitute the lack of Badge Crates I don´t really consider them bad even if they might be a touch easy sometimes. The Olaf Trials was just veeeeeeeery restricted and the current one just had some lineups that are bad. I like fair but hard lineups, some can be pretty unfair though.

The main issue I find with campaign trials in particular isn’t that they are too easy or hard.

It’s that no matter their ‘ease’, we’re able to run through until we no longer can (be it because it’s completed or because we’re stuck) in a very short time, leaving nothing to do for the remainder of the event, which is really boring.

On the subject of difficulty, anyway -

Olaf trial - please don’t restrict heroes this tightly, it makes it literally impossible for players who don’t use that small selection. That’s not ‘hard’ or a fun challenge, just… impossible.

New Year trial - as someone with a ‘fairly powerful’ roster, despite being for all intents & purposes F2P, I thought this was nearly a good difficulty if slightly too easy. However, it’s not scaled, making it too difficult for a huge number of players.

The trial type with selectable difficulty and scaled rewards that has capped attempts per day is almost perfect - just needs extending to accommodate lower ranked heroes than the previous minimum, and maybe a slight rewards bump.

Basically… Shego trial tier of rewards with more divisive ranking of heroes for stages would be the best.

Considering there are now effectively 1+2+3+5+9+20(+11) = 40 (or 51 for old servers) ranks… it might be the best to start at Blue, then Purple and then a difficulty per, say… 4 or 5 ranks?
I would personally like 15 different stages, that I would considered appropriate division of difficulty.

As with rewards. I think Badge Crates should stay the same for all. Diamond Crates could be the thing that makes difference. Some Cosmetic Crates, ideally the same for all stages.
And then maybe Guaranteed Crates - 1 for stages 5-9, 2 for stages 10-14 and 3 for stage 15.

I much prefer the wave trial to the campaign trial, but I still prefer the campaign trial to nothing. I’d really like some sort of replay value to the campaign trial, like maybe give badge/cosmetic crates for only the first time a stage is beaten (or 3-starred), but allow players to replay a set number of stages every day for gold/XP/stamina/disk power/etc.

I think Pipsqueak gave the most succinct explanation of our main gripe with the campaign-style trial; also, the wave trial, because it has a range of difficulties to choose from, allows more players to participate more fully in the trial. (Just don’t restrict us to ~15 heroes like you did with the Olaf campaign trial; that’s ridiculously unfair.)

One aspect of the campaign trial I enjoyed, like Kira, was the story unfolding with each stage. Even if the stories so far have been episodic, simplistic, and a little silly, they still add to the Disney-ness of the game. (Of course, if you can’t complete the trial, you can’t read the story…)

I spent money in stamina packs of 4.99 usd specially during Fortify the Network contest. BUT I don’t spend a lot of money. So I’m between.

I didn’t enjoy at all the entire events. Neither the Raya one. Pretty hard for sure. And even worse with the extra rules and restricted heroes.

What’s the matter of having heroes that you use in your everyday necessities (Arena, Campaign and Coliseum) if you suddenly out of the blue are asked of use heroes that you don’t use at all for the lack of resources to upgrade them?

For some reason these stories are also translated while permanent content like friendship campaign doesn’t. Can I ask why @Loutre ?

This is pretty much “Adventure Events” from the extinct game SEGA Heroes. Although, that was PvP thing.
Get energy, which refreshes (like in Campaign Chapters). Each spot gives “trophies” and the last spot has the most trophies, but also is the most difficult battle.
Some heroes have buffed stats.
Who has the most trophies wins.

Each spot gives some extra resources to progress heroes. (Which obviously this game has tenfold more than SEGA Heroes had).

So just relegate “Campaign Trials” to some sort of those Adventure Events-alike thing. People spend or play, you will be happy to get money for it and we won´t have to discuss this any longer :joy:

As an F2P person, it is really hard for the to clear the Campaign trials and get to the end, which I think is the case for most F2Ps.

I think there should be a F2P friendly version of the Campaign Event Trials, like a Normal mode and an Elite mode. Story mode and Challenge could also work naming wise.
.

While I am not a Whale/Spender I thought I give some feedback still and hope that’s okey :-).

Overall, I think the Normal/Story mode could be where F2Ps and lower leveled players could have a chance at completing, while Elite/Challenge mode could be something that are meant to truly challenge Whales/Spenders :-).

I also suggest re-runable points that can be like the 3 tries a day :-).
Not quite sure how many there should be, but maybe 3-4 ones depending on how many stages that are in the Campaign Event Trial. Basically like the save points in Mario games.

Wave trial event has all good things.

  • Can be played every day
  • Each player can choose their own difficulty and gain rewards equal to that
  • more rewards (as it’s played daily)
  • enemies are changing, surprises and needs some synergy and thinking to win; the only mode in the entire game
  • gives both guaranteed cosmetic crates (yellow) and badge crates

Wave trial only should be given, it’s perfect as it was with Raya event, maybe just double badge crates and give some disk power too.
