Upcoming Disney Movie Discussion

Personally I think mythology overcomplicated the second film and shifted the tone too far from the first one. Adding a whole new set of mythology would not be a good idea in my opinion.

Instead, I would hope they are leaning more into the history/natural world of the region: Aurora Borealis and seemingly some Viking adversaries.

The trolls, the nokk, giants, the Aesirs are all part of the same mythology. I say that utilizing the mythos of Norway was a fun way to teach them about what the Norse people believed in without going too much into mythology’s complicated and gruesome details much like Hercules with Greek mythology and, to an extent, Moana with Polynesian mythology.

Not that I’m all big on Norse mythology. I’m more into myths from Egypt myself.

Really? I thought it’s based off of Maori mythology…

Which is in Polynesia which proves my point.

New Zealand definitely is Polynesian-British! :3

To be fair I don’t think the live action Lilo and Stich movie would be good in fact Disney needs to stop making live action movies of their animated movies because it’s killing the vibes however the only live action movie that was good along with the animated version was Cinderella

I like there live action. it’s the disney like horror movies that need to be stopped

This might be an unpopular opinion…but I kinda like how the new Stitch looks. They didn’t redesign him to look more like an actual being with a functionate skeleton inside, they just made Stitch look like Stitch. So many of my favourite character designs have been either ruined because of making things more real (The Beast, Cogsworth, Lumiere, Scar) or being played by real people with no expression like an animated character might have (Cruella, Genie, Jafar, Ursula). I still do not like the idea of making a “live-action” Stitch, but hey, the wallets seem to disagree.

I agree with you here: I actually LOVE #626’s live-action design. Totally accurate to the OG animated version!

As for Cruella, I absolutely LOVE Glenn Close’s live-action portrayal of the villain, definitely captures her wickedness real well! :smiling_imp:

On a scale of one to five, how would you rate Aliens Romulus
