This might get a lot of hate but I think you should be able to do more instead of just watching them fight like choose different attacks to do with them level them up and the more you level them up the more abilities they get but aye that is just opinion and I’m still new to the game but like if you agree

Hi, welcome to the forums. 
There are plenty of game modes that give options other than just watching them fight; you don’t need to keep it on auto if you want more hands on battling and there is actually a good bit of strategy involved in when you trigger a hero’s white skill.
You do level them up and they do get new abilities (skills) as you level them up. Otherwise leveling up involves boosting power in specific areas with badges, mods, etc.
You just gotta find which game mode works for you.

Okay, I understand EXACTLY what you want, and I…do Not really agree. A game like the one you are talking about, would be Looney Tunes World of Mayhem, Sorcerers ’ arena, TMNT world of legends, marvel Strike Force, etc. There is no end to them. This game is semi idle, and I like it that way. Youu can play any of those games, but I am hard pressed to find another game like this.

Yeah, it’s really just the style of the game.
It may not seem like there’s a lot of hands on strategy in fights, but that’s because most of the strategy comes in when you are choosing team compositions and rationing strength between your heroes.

Not gonna lie I’m having a lot of fun on the game 
Have you tried Dianey scorcers Arena that has more strategy and more option as far as choosing what skills you wanna activate at what time and lots of team combos for more strategies. If that’s what your wanting you should try that game. I love both games very much both offering unique things the other doesnt have.
