Add an Option to Ban Players from Joining Guilds

I believe guilds should be given the option to ban specific players from joining their guild while maintaining open entry to new members. Changing guild entry from Open to Application is too broad of a treatment when you just want to forbid specific players from joining, especially if said players have been an issue with the guild in the past. Also, potential new members might prefer to apply for Open guilds rather than Application guilds as it requires less time to enter the guild and may appear less intimidating to new players. Plus, it can be time consuming for guild leaders and officers to look at every application and consider who gets in or not.

Speaking from personal experience I’ve seen members leech off guilds and get kicked out when they don’t follow the rules or perform their expected tasks (check-in, Surge, dailies), but then promptly return to the guild and the whole cycle continues. The also applies to members that throw fits, leave, come back, and make more aggressive messages to aggravate guilds.

Yup I had (have) two ex-members in my guild that did (do) that. They keep coming back and I keep kicking em and when I don’t,they leave again anyway…and they hate me cuz I kick them when they were gonna leave anyway…

My guild had one former member. I think that they don’t have a fixed (permanent) Guild. But she keeps Guild Hopping. They tricked me into letting them in because they told me that our leader approved that we should let her in. I did, then she left :frowning: . I really wish there was another way instead of turning it to Application.

Ugh… I’ve had that experience recently. Had to kick a member that wasn’t participating in Surge at all, so I was the one who kicked them because that’s the rules. They came back and started complaining that they’ve been in the guild a long time and checked-in consistently, and that meant that they were contributing to the guild and didn’t deserve to be kicked. The amount of entitlement in that conversation almost made me see red. The member never made more than 15k of Influence in a week, so they’re one to talk about “contributing” to the guild when consistently active members made over 30k of Influence per week.

The biggest kicker was that the rules were really merciful. Members would be given PMs and asked to notify the guild if they couldn’t participate in Surge for whatever reason so they wouldn’t be penalized, because life happens. Never sent a PM back or any explanation, but instead told the guild after being kicked that they’ve already informed the guild previously that they couldn’t do Surge because of time reasons. When was that, a months ago? People forget, we aren’t computers that can store memory in picture-perfect quality. A reminder would have helped, but no they decided to throw a tantrum. :rage:

Rough bro… although no offense to you or your guild mates, that is why the guild wall is there…

True.
Forgot to mention that the rules were pinned to the Guild Wall and members were notified when something changed and were asked to read it.
