I saw that Kermit was cancelled in a scream shot of a conversation here on the forums.
Is he cancelled?
This getting very annoying. YES Kermit was deconfirmed. This has been established repeatedly. Can we finally move on or is someone going decide to cuss me out again?
Just because you’ve heard it repeatedly doesn’t mean that everyone has. Being rude to people who don’t know is not necessary.

Sooo many question and answers that I need all I can stop being bullied for saying that Kermit was deconfirm for the moment.
DISCLAIMER: This is my theory, not 100% accurate information
My guess is that when they decided to add Muppet characters, Kermit was heavily considered / planned early on, but as @Matt_PB stated, other characters like Gonzo and Animal worked better in a battle scenario. The walk cycle thing I think just means that were having difficulty making it while considering / designing Kermit.
