I was wondering if there was a way to choose the animation the character does on the hero screen when you tap them? Like a drop down menu? I’ve seen it in a screenshot before, but I can’t seem to do it myself.
I’ve heard throught he grape vine that you can power up mods with extra hero chips? I don’t know how.
I’ve also scene the genie in a different outfit, and again, I don’t know how.
First of all, welcome to the Forums! Now, to answer your questions…
I think you can access it if you use a certain device… not sure what but I’ve seen it somewhere.
Powering up with Extra Hero Chips? Correct me if I’m wrong but you only use Hero Chips when:
Those “different outfits” are called “Costumes” which can, so far, only be obtainable via Contests.
To add to the last point here is where you can find costumes. And one tip: in contests, don’t confuse hero chips with costume chips, that happened to me for the first competition. 
Yep, they have the same icon - the Hero’s Icon - but one thing to differentiate between a Hero Chip and a Hero thread is that:
A Hero Chip has a blue square on its top left corner (sorry if the description’s vague, I don’t have a picture for reference) while…
A Hero Thread has a spool of thread on its top left corner.

I think that menu only appears when you “3D Touch” it.
It is only available to certain Iphones.
3d Touch also allow you to raid ports and trials with opening their screen, as well as other stuff
(I have an Android, I combed through past Patch Notes to find out about 3d Touch Features)
