Okay so Pip was bored and decided that since these concept things seemed to be all the rage, he’d see what he could do :smiley: featuring a character from his favourite book series, hopefully some balance, and a bit of DS influence :wink:

Updated for 2024! I’ve refreshed Holly’s kit a bit to bring her in line with the capabilities of modern heroes and the variety of effects they can dish out. I think she’s now sneakily powerful so would probably need fairly modest stats to balance her out, but she should provide an excellent option to counter some dangerous current threats.

Entrance:
Holly flies into the battlefield.

Victory:
Holly jumps & raises her arms in triumph.

Defeat:
Holly collapses to the ground and vanishes.

Basic Attack:
Holly shoots her Neutrino handgun at the enemies.

  • Deals fantastic damage.

  • Any heroes tagged with ‘Ice Cold’ take 2x damage from Holly’s basic attack.


Holly’s Skills

White: ‘Mesmer’

  • Holly mesmerises the enemy with the most Energy, granting them X Energy, reducing their Energy Gain to 10%, and directing all attacks towards their own team until they run out of Energy.

  • Mesmerised enemies are also Drained and cannot use their White Skill.

  • If ‘Mesmer’ is applied twice to the same enemy, that enemy is instead blinded for 20 seconds.
    If Holly attempts to mesmerise a 2nd enemy while another enemy is already mesmerised, the effect is removed from the previous enemy who is then blinded for 20 seconds.

  • ‘Mesmer’ has a chance to fail on enemies above level X.

  • Invasion bosses, and heroes tagged with ‘Steadfast’, cannot be mesmerised.


Green: ‘Baton Buzz’

  • Holly quickly flies amongst the enemy, striking each enemy with her baton for X damage immediately, and a further X damage over 5 seconds.
    Enemies struck have a 20% chance to become Wired for the remainder of the wave.

  • Deals fantastic damage.


Blue: ‘A Kind Touch’

  • Holly becomes invisible for 4 seconds, granting herself X HP, cleansing herself and allies, and granting allies immunity to any negative status while Holly is invisible.

Purple: ‘Ritual’

  • For every concurrent buff active on the enemy team, Holly’s energy gain is increased by 10%. This effect stacks up to a maximum of 300%. ‘Ritual’ has a chance to fail on buffs cast over level X.

  • A single buff on all enemies will count as 5 buffs.


Red: ‘An Eye for An Eye’

  • ‘A Kind Touch’ now increases Holly’s Armour and Reality by X, and Distracts & Limits all enemies while Holly is invisible.

  • If Holly receives more than 25% of her Max HP as damage during this time, upon becoming visible she gains 50% Attack Speed and immediately casts ‘Mesmer’.

  • Holly’s basic attacks also deal X true damage.

    • Skill Power
    • Evasion
    • Improved Healing

Battle Badge:

  • Is charged when 2 enemies are Wired.

    • Reality Negation

Patches:

  1. Reality Blight - Enemies damaged by Holly lose Reality for 8 seconds.

  2. Precision Benevolence - Buffs and Heals from Holly also grant Precise for some seconds.

  3. Reality Share - Grants allies Reality for 8 seconds when Holly is granted Reality.

  4. Fortifying Cleanse - Cleanses from Holly also grant 5 stacks of Hardy. Heroes benefitting from Hardy take reduced damage.


Friendships:

  1. Judy Hopps | ‘Beat Buddies’
    Judy & Holly use teamwork to their advantage to take down their foes.

    Level: ‘A Kind Touch’ lasts 30% longer & also heals all allies for X HP.
    Stars: The effects of ‘Ritual’ are shared with a linked ally with X% efficiency.


  1. Hiro Hamada | ‘Friendship is not a Science’
    Hiro modifies Holly’s equipment to deliver more potent & lasting results.

    Level: Enemies tagged with ‘Human’ take X more damage from ‘Baton Buzz’, and are Confused for 10 seconds.
    Stars: Mesmer also increases the mesmerised enemies attack speed by X%, for every enemy combatant.


Effects Introduced:

  • Hero Tags:

A new type of hero classification, such as Role or Team Colour. Heroes can have multiple tags based on their physiology, canon behaviour or other defining features.

Skills and Abilities may have unique effects - for better, worse or just different - on heroes of certain tags.

(this system was borrowed & tweaked from Dragon Soul!)

  • ‘Mesmerised’: Explained in Holly’s white skill. It’s basically a more powerful version of Charm that uses Drain to influence its duration. Mesmerised counts as a Buff, not a Debuff - with all the fun implications that brings. It can’t be copied by Kermit, however.

  • ‘Wired’: A new combat status. Heroes who are Wired take 10% of their Max HP every second, and deal 10% more damage every second with their skills & basic attacks. The damage taken is still received regardless of any invincibility, invisibility or other protective buff - except Berserk and other 1HP survival conditions. Wired also counts as a Buff and isn’t supposed to be always good or bad, just introduces some extra chaos!

Heroes tagged with ‘Grounded’ cannot become Wired.
