City Watch = Sulley Ladder

I have lost my joy for City Watch:

Line with level 47 Sulley
Line with level 49 Sulley
… 54 Sulley
… 60 Sulley
… 65 Sulley

Please, I beg you, make it so that all 15 fights aren’t against a Sulley lineup. It’s beyond tedious. :sob:

As I understand it, the City Watch battles are against actual players’ arena teams.

So this just means that a lot of players use Sully for the arena.

You are absolutely correct. I think that is a flaw, and that some randomness should be introduced to avoid people fighting the same line over and over. I already only get to fight Sulley every day in arena, over and over and over. Silly to do the same thing every day in CW x15 over and over and over…

At least Sulley is great to have as an enemy in Watch. He’s fat, but doesn’t do much harm, so you’ll have time to regen your energy attacking him.

Just wait till you start to face lots of Mr Incs later on… Or Calhouns with shield all in a row.

I think my larger point is being missed. Fighting almost the exact same line 15 times in a row is not my idea of fun. As a developer myself, I know it’s trivial to add logic to prevent this kind of tedium.

Dont know which level are you guys but believe me that at higher level you will not meet so many sulley team. Just calhoun teams. And that time you’ll wish to get sulley teams :joy: city watch is good and pretty well balanced. Just create a good team and keep at least 5 other decent character as a secondary team

It all goes back down to balanced heroes. If the developers focus on creating a balance, there would be much more variations of teams and strategy. There are a few highly popular heroes because of how much better they are than other heroes, such as Sully, Mr Inc, Nick, Calhoun, Zurg etc

@Polaris @Etesian

The balance right now is okay but could be better. If it ever gets out of hand, then I would not hesitate to quit.

It’s not easy to balence out characters, nerfing on character can effect the whole game. They obviously are doing what they can to get the healing meta out of the way (the mass amount of yax in arena)by adding tia, just give them some time and things should even out more with new hero’s.

This is not an “I can’t win CW” thread. I destroy CW every night like clock work. I am talking about variety so I don’t have the exact same fight 15 times in a row. Yeah it’s Sulley for me now, and I’m sure it’s someone else in 10 more levels. But my point remains the same: No one should have to fight SuperToonXYZ in every single fight every single night.

Balance would help long term, but simple logic could address it immediately. As is, CW is hands down my least favorite part of the game. I do it last every night because it’s like dragging my fingernails across a chalk board.

I agree they need to improve both variety and difficulty scaling in CW. Not only do you face the same type of teams, the game’s only way of scaling the difficulty is to increase the level of the opponent heroes. This leaves us (me at least) at level 75 fighting enemy heroes at level 110+. At this level difference, many of level dependent skills have no chance to land. This effectively eliminates many heroes from being an option in the later stages.

If they arent going,to fix the scaling then they need to just get rid of city watch entirely. They ruined it with this unfair level scaling for less gold earned and a measly amount,of disk power. Just letting infected areas spread across the campaign areas gives more disk power in 3 areas than a day of cw. At this point cw just needs to be replaced with more modes like heist

Agree, CW is also my least favorite part of the game; perBlue did elude to changes here in the future and they are desperately needed.

The disk power is quite low compared to what we can earn elsewhere (one hard heist is the same disk power, or two infections).

And ultimately, it’s time consuming and repeatitive. There is no strategy either due to the level cap being exceeded rendering stuns etc useless, it’s just a high power faceoff - where you sacrifice some decent (but not your best) characters to proceed. Yawn

As for the original comment in the topic, at least the Sulley’s have backed off a bit now Tia is around.

No word of a lie, sometimes I just play it on Normal so I can just auto my way through it , Disk Power is immaterial, I just want my tokens and to get out of there…

And yes, I can win it on hard, have consistently for months…but now I’m just over it.
