Controlling those annoying pests in Heist

Heyya bois!

I have a useful feedback to improve the experience of this game, especially on Heist mode.

Ever play with people who just join and afk the whole game? A lot of times. Ever play with people who doesn’t contribute anything by having all of their heroes standstill on 5 diamonds? Been there, never done that.

I know, I know, some people would say “kick them”, then I’d say “but i’m not the host, only host can kick them. What if the host is actually the one who afk?”, then they’d say “then be the host”. For me, this doesn’t solve any problem. People will still have the mindset of “its okay to lose some points, if i can afk and let people do the hardwork while i still get the daily quest done”.

Then i came up with this idea.

  1. Only 1 hero per person to standwatch on diamond, so then they have to move the other 4 of their heroes.
  2. Distribute more points to people who actively investigating to find thief’s hideout. Unless there is a rule for those afk’ers like i explained below.
  3. Give automated warning to people who afk, automatically kick them out of the match after the 2nd or 3rd warning or even give some penalty (lets say, they wouldn’t be able to join heist for the next 48hours)
  4. More points to the person who find the thief’s hideout, to motivate people ofc!

What do you think?

Sounds good except for hero on diamond limit.

Hmmm 1 one iss…to be frank…stupid.

There are only five players per hesit max. And you want each person to only be able to place one? so wha t? Th ief gets other five diamonds?

Not to mention peeps do not usually all joun at once anyway.

Second,third, ok fine whutwver

Fourth…I do not like this idea.

That’s true i didn’t think through about 10 diamonds and 5 players.

What to dislike from the 4th one? Finding hideout is the goal for hard mode and anything above it. So if you want more points, then be more active.

Yah but finding hideout is in a way, luck. You can search inaide the circle and guess where it is, but you really cannot be sure. But you can be more sure the more peoplw that search and remove question marks.

What about thw other two, three players who were looking? Is it fair to them that you found the hideout and they didnt? Even if you started looking after they did?

And while that is the goal of hard heist an up, other heist rules are just as important.

Defending the diamonds so the thief cannot just steal the diamond.

Attacking the thief so that she doesnt get away.

Fighting ambushes to gain extra clues to find the hideout sooner.

I agree with David, depending on how you choose to play heist, there are many potential roles that all contribute approximately equally to winning.

Roles often employed in my heists:

  1. One or two dedicated guarding players. If you’re tied up but I’m having issues filling a heist, I’m thankful that you’re loaning your heroes so that everyone else can actively play. The other people that may end up being the dedicated guards are players that just reached the level cap required to play in a difficulty. They become a dedicated guard because we don’t want two of their just barely there heroes to end up in the same fight.

  2. Scout - Sole focus is to investigate POI’s and find the hideout. I usually only have one of these.

  3. Face Smashers - Typically the two people with the strongest teams. This role is strictly focused on running to thief and ambush fights to save the gems and keep the scout moving. With Update 1.8, one of the face smashers is largely focused on Accomplices and Bodyguards.

The Blitz strategy where no one covers gems and every hero searches is the only time I could see rewarding the player that finds the hideout. However, the game has no way to know if this is how you’re going to play. Also, most of the people that play this way don’t care about heist tokens because they have lots tokens saved and they only care about getting the disk power.

Hmmm… As you play this game, finding hideout isn’t the only one that based on luck. Even opening a diamond crate also based on luck. Some people unlocked those new heroes after opening their third diamond crates, some people don’t even get a single chip after their 20 tries. But you can’t say “it isn’t fair”, right? People who involved in fight receive more points, but you can’t say “it isn’t fair” just because the thief didn’t appear near your heroes at all, right?

Here is what i think of an unfair scenario. You have 5 people in your hard heist room. At the start of the game, 2 of them tagged 10 diamonds, then 3 of you got to keep running your heroes around to find the hideout. Be honest, would you be more happy to stay on watch or running around every 20-30secs? Especially when you still can do your campaign, do arena attack, or any other things while your heist is still running. I believed the other 3 would be more focus on finishing the match, compared to the other 2 who just standwatch on the diamond.

Now this is what I wish for. You don’t want to receive extra points? Fine, you can put your heroes on the diamond. Anyway, you will still receive a little reward when people used your hero in fight. But i wish people who really put efforts, focus on finishing the match to be more appreciated.

Heist is a teamwork based match. You don’t want to have 3 people give their best to win it, while the other 2 are just piggybacking, and they all receive the same amount of points. That’s what i called being fair.

You get 3 tokens for every one of your heroes that was in a winning fight. The guy guarding 5 gems is only going to have maybe 5 heroes in a winning fight for the entire Heist, because only one of his heroes is ever going to be in a fight at a time, and that fight will only happen if the thief tried to steal a gem that player is guarding. This will only give them 5x3 = 15 extra heist tokens.

If you now have the ability to run around with 5 heroes on offense because you’re not guarding, you can now very easily have 3-5 of your heroes in almost every fight. It’s very easy for you as the active player to have had 30-50 instances of one of your heroes being in a winning fight. Just based on this easily achievable 30-50 range (the cap is 100), that’s 90-150 extra heist tokens that you got for being active compared to the player guarding 5 gems that got 15 extra heist tokens.

Whenever I’m given the option of going on full guard duty or going on full offense, I take the offensive role due to all of these extra heist tokens that I get for being active. At this point I even prefer playing with two players that are dedicated guards, so that I can go on offense with 5 heroes more than I like playing with 4 other people, and each of us guarding two gems.
