Cosmetic Levels have Ruined the Game

Again, it’s not that cosmetic bonuses are auto-wins, it’s that it gives too much of a buff. The person won, because their team comp countered the other one enough to overcome the difference. If it was a 10% buff max, that would be easier to accept, but it’s up to 100% more specific stats for some match-ups.

Didn’t you just see that people don’t have problems with that?
Use better heroes and build synergy, there’s completely no problem.

And thanks to cosmetic levels old heroes actually can do something against most newer heroes, so all you ask is to make people quit and make older heroes even worse, without these bonuses their stats are completely bad.

We don’t have friend levels anymore.
That’s fine, even though it should be red rank now.
Too much… but maybe random 5, which aren’t in the same collection. New players got all white badges avatar unlocked
and it will make cosmetic crates useless, it’s just PB fails to deliver them, where is the trial event.

We have friend campaign chapters.

How about changing the principles to what it was before for all heroes and badges and such before April 2020? So that new players can enjoy at least what OTHERS playing before April 2020 get?

Oh and…

That people don´t complain here =/= they don´t have a problem with it.

And new heroes with the bonuses kill everyone :upside_down_face:
How about also limit the bonuses given to heroes to pre-Kristoff (aka the first 99 released) characters? That I´d call a fair play. Old heroes gain extra, newer heroes get nothing.

Ohhhhh wait, even 2021 heroes now suck.

Eh, no, old players should at least have that, as there’s nothing else from benefiting from playing longer.
There are already people reaching max level and maxing some heroes in 3 days…

no.
these bonuses just increase the very base, so damage increase is minimal. and everything has a counter…

but mos-- oh wait, it’s the last year. yeah, most of the recent heroes are bad :frowning:

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… PB would actually do refreshes, oh wait… miracles won’t happen. whatever.

players with much lower cosmetic levels become champions too, so.

Incentivizes playing friendship campaigns at least. You can´t do that in a day.

Hey ho, but some newer heroes have much wilder scaling.

And that´s meant to be an argument?

Your opinion is just… beta (or early global) player garbage. “I played for so long, I should have privileges” - Yet, PB shows you all the time that your privilege is to be quiet. As you have none.

and still have a counter… mainly from the older heroes side.

you too.
actually, anyone, what feedback was listenen and applied. it’s 4 years.

isn’t that nice.

eeee…
one emoji for completing the campaign, another from 5* disk, and another from… completing 20 missions.
still being available from crates, just like other emojis
:boom:

It is called a boost my friend… Something we had, but others did not. And, as you and me know, not even 5156515415915 purple crates are enough to get there…

Not really. If the person with 1000 cosmetic levels actually knows how to build a team, you’re not winning. Even if you perfectly counter-build them, you’re still being outmuscled by someone who has double your HP, double your damage, and 30% more attack speed.

in today’s newsflash: people who’ve spent a lot of money on the game have more powerful heroes than people who haven’t :astonished:

… on a more serious note, it can indeed be annoying and the bonuses are pretty strong, but i’m not sure it can exactly be called unfair :man_shrugging:

Wrong the coli arena champs on s1 400 cosmetic top players ie whales 1000

A 10% buff on base stats is virtually nothing. A 100% buff is a pretty good advantage, but rarely insurmountable, in my experience. Personally, I think the buffs to energy gain and attack speed are more likely to unbalance the matches than the base stat buffs, but I’m reluctant to make significant changes to a system that’s been around for nearly two years now.

I suspect a fair number of those teams could still be beaten with the right combinations of counters and offense, but the margin of error definitely narrows considerably with a wide enough difference in cosmetic levels. There may well be teams that are nigh-impossible to beat unless you’re within 300-400 cosmetic levels, but I’d be shocked if more than a couple dozen players on server 1 were capable of putting together such teams.

Going back to this method of earning cosmetics would, I think, be a much better way of leveling the playing field in terms of cosmetics – if it’s limited to the cosmetics available at the time the Cosmetic Crates were introduced. E.g., for the 99 heroes older than Kristoff & Sven, anyone who promotes them to purple rank (or orange, if you think purple’s too easy now) get the hero avatars. And yes, that means a lot of players would get a lot of badge avatars right away; I’m perfectly OK with that.

Of course, since Friend Levels are no longer a part of the game, there would have to be some other way to award the hero emojis, perhaps through completing the friendship campaign and/or earning stars on the relevant disk. (I’d like a combination of the two, so that you could get all of a hero’s emojis by completing both campaigns and getting both disks to three stars.)

There should be some way to get costumes as well, whether it’s through putting threads back in contest rewards or offering them for using a hero X amount of times in creep surge/campaign fights/whatever.

Make all of the pre-1.17 cosmetics as available to new players as they were to older players, and they should be able to gain enough cosmetic levels to narrow the gap noticeably, while still allowing the big spenders a significant, but not insurmountable, advantage.

We got 2 Friendship Campaigns, each with 8 Chapters. And many (if not all) of pre-Kristoff characters have the Emoji Collections consisting of 8 unique emotes.

So… 16 Chapters altogether, 8 emotes… I say every 2nd finished Friendship Campaign on each side is good enough.

Yep. To be fair, the first 99 heroes could even be excluded from the cosmetic crates. We now have 160+ afterall. And sooooooooooo many ranks above the 2nd anniversary, which was a rank after the cosm.crates introduction (so like… 25 away from there)
