Disney Heroes Balance

We know that Perblue works tirelessly to create high quality, creative games for the community. Perblue has created Dragonsoul, the best game I have played. It also created Disney Heroes, which is a great imitation. I have been studying Perblue and Dragonsoul for 7 years, which is why I joined the Disney Heroes community. I value Perblue and the success of Disney Heroes.

However, there are two obvious flaws with Disney Heroes. These issues are the causes and results of each other. Balance Changes are quite infrequent or may be non-existent. Perblue knows that eventually they will have to balance the meta, but is not making it a current priority.

Arena is the only game mode that truly matters. Our hero teams are built centered around the Arena. The Arena has no variation. There are two reasons for these issues:

  1. There exists a small minority of highly overpowered heroes. (Example: Zeus\Pacha)
  2. There exists a great majority of heroes that are unreasonably underpowered (Example: Tigger/Flynn Rider)

The Arena and the absence of an equally important game
mode emphasizes the aforementioned issues and their causes.

The corruption of the meta and the Arena are Disney Heroes greatest flaws. We seek the betterment of Disney Heroes by order of the meta. We, the Disney Heroes community, know that Perblue will solve these issues.

Let us know if you have any other ideas regarding the deteriorating meta/corruption of game modes. We are interested in seeing your feedback.

The game is not balanced around Arena. Not even Arena is balanced around Arena.

Coliseum and War are more indicative of the current state of the meta. Specifically War, since Coliseum basically just devolves into Quick Win Denial like Arena does, whereas War actually incentivizes you to create real teams that need to win and not just stall for a few seconds.

Padding posts out with guff makes no difference to whether they are taken on board or not, lol

As a veteran you’ll be well aware that PB just do what they want, and this sort of hero imbalance is exactly what they aim for. Why would people spend money on the latest heroes if the old ones are just as good?

And if you wish, you can just ignore War (obviously not in a high guild that cares about it)

At which point, why even worry about game balance in the first place, if you’re not interacting with the meta?

Surge, sometimes Friend Campaigns and even the Normal/Elite Campaigns do reflect meta to some degree so… lol?

Unfortunately, the current meta is Disney Heroes is disorder. @Pipsqueak makes a good point. There is a clear, general tendency:
Old heroes are weak, while New heroes are strong
This appears time and time again with rare exception. Consider any pair of Old and New heroes and you’ll see that the new hero is much stronger. Consider Flynn Rider and Syndrome, two Control Heroes. At the same level, Syndrome has approximately 8 times more health than Flynn as well as a much higher skill power. He also has longer range than Flynn. Consider Zeus and Tigger, Bhageera and Vanelope, or Pacha and Bunsen. There is an obvious pattern.
This may increase in-app purchases in the short-term but will lead to failure in the long-term. Such failures are displayed in Portal Quest and in broken Dragonsoul. We know that this is a setup for failure.

We hope that Perblue will address this issue in the near future and Save Disney Heroes

Seriously though, refreshes fall apart the same way as heroes.
