Disney+ Original Series Discussions!

Any thoughts on the FATWS episode from today? I have not seen it yet.

Disney announced a bunch of new projects a while ago, so what are you most excited for? Again this thread is not just to talk about the shows/movies as they come out!

Odd how hardly anyone has talked about the third F&TWS episode yet. The day after April Fools is always tough though, lol. Anyways,

SPOILERS

The Good

  • Sam and Bucky having time to be on the run was really great with character development and exposition. Almost like Solo: A Star Wars Story in some areas or like a indie movie. Good vibes.

  • The return of Sharon Carter. Her being a fugitive was nice and Sam pardoning her arrest was brilliant. Especially when you remember his ā€œThatā€™s coldā€ when she said she removed his wings in Civil War. Semi callback. I liked that.

  • The return of Zemo also. I liked how he was sort of playing Sam and Bucky while actually still being somewhat right. Heā€™s such a amazingly complex villain and I hope we see more of how twisted but yet morally sometimes right actions. He is just so awesome to watch.

The Bad

Not really anything tbh, maybe just the lesseened time to focus on the Super Soldier Serum. That slightly aggravated me a little but eh.

The Nerdy

  • The ending where Bucky recognizes the tracking devices in the street and talks to Ayo is amazing. Itā€™s our first sign of Wakandan activity since Endgame and perhaps it could be explored further in the next three episodes since Bucky has such a deep connection to it.

  • The name of the episode and subject of it, Power Broker is a awesome comic homage. I am loving the deep Cap lore weā€™re getting in this show, it honestly makes me proud to be a Cap fan cause many just didnā€™t talk about his history.

TL:DR. Good episode. Probably weakest of the three but good character development and exposition and more time with Bucky this episode, I feel. I am happy the screentime between the two is evenly divided.

Watched ep3 and I really loved it!

Found this memeā€¦

SPOILER... I think

Spoilers sort of

Can we just appreciate the meme Zemo is slowly becoming. First it was John, now itā€™s Zemo, I mean, look at this legendary dance.

zemo-dance

He was the highlight of the episode by far.

Ya, I laughed at that part. Cringed at the snake.

For the near future Iā€™m most excited for Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Monsters at Work!

Not a huge surprise since I am a huge PATF fan: Tiana
Iā€™m also really looking forward Lightyear, Loki and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (Unfortunately it will take some time until these are released)

Loki is coming this June so only two months from now on but yeah, the other two are at least a year from now. Good stuff coming on though. Black Widow in July and another trailer dropped. Looks awesome. No more delays, please.

So I watched the episode. Best so far IMO because it was the most fun and (certain character) entered the story.

To answer my own question, there is nothing I am not excited for. As long as things are well done and put together, I will enjoy it. Based on what is coming in April, May, and Juneā€¦ I have to say The Mysterious Benedict Society, HSMTMTS Season 2, and Loki.

There better not be more delays my head might pop

Watched the fourth ep of FATWS. It was incredible to watch (a welcome distraction during my Latin lesson)

Summary
  • Unpopular opinion I guess: I hate Karli. Sure, she has gone through a lot but itā€™s not okay how she does the things she does. And how can she do that to Sarah? Sorry Karli, but you are on top of my most hated MCU-Characters. ALongside Tyler Hayward, Ironman and John Walker.
  • John Walker: Yes, he lost his best friend but how could he do that? How? I was close to crying this episodeā€¦
  • So excited to learn more about Sharon! She is really susā€¦
  • And of course, what happens to Zemo and how will he come back?
  • Overall I think the best episode so far, espeially the fighting scene with the Dojamilaje was amazing

Easily my favourite episode yet but wowā€¦ was not ready for that ending.

Spoilers
  • Seeing the Dora Milaje absolutely wreck John Walker was so satisfying and just goes to show how strong they are. Hopefully they become more prominent in future movies/shows as their fighting style is epic.
  • I like how Sam and Karli started to bond and I hope that this eventually leads to Karli becoming good.
  • R.I.P Lamar. I never really liked him but that death scene was heart breaking. The instantaneity of his death when he hit the pole and then Johnā€™s following expressions were so sad.
  • I am speechless after that final scene. An amazing shot but truly horrific. When that footage gets out there is no way that the US government will let him keep the Captain America mantle.

So many thoughtsā€¦ best episode yet.

Summary
  • Karli is starting to grow on me. I have to agree with Sam. She has a good cause and intentions. She is just not going about it in a good way. She could make a good Cap America in a senseā€¦
  • John Walker is really what we thoughtā€¦ killing someone like thatā€¦
  • I love Sharon and I think she is the Brokerā€¦
  • Zemo singing and being awesome is something I did not know I needed. I also wonder what has happened to him.
  • Lamar and the other guyā€™s deaths were sad.

Agreed. It was awesome.

I hope so. That was terrible.

Spoilers: character arcs

john Walker
Ok this may be a little dumb, but I have a theorie about john Walker.
I think hes going to eventually grow to be a comics character I think has similarities to john: captain hydra.

ā€¢This series is already deeply tied in to hydra.
ā€¢Walker has a vile of super soilder serum.
ā€¢he already has had the mantle of captain america, meaning he already has experience with caps fight style.
his actions in the final scene may alter his motives, ultimately turning him into captain hydra.

Sharon Carter
Ok the only evidence I need for this one is the fact that she is the female captain in the comics. She already has experience with combat clearly, after that john wick style fight. (Your welcome imagineer /j)

Falcon
In the comics hes eventually renamed captain falcon. Thatā€™s all Iā€™m saying.

Late, I know. But man, this episode was incredible. I needed some time to unpack it all, lol.

SPOILERS

Iā€™m gonna stop doing the good, bad and nerdy cause tbh, there isnā€™t much bad stuff in this show and nerdy often falls in the same stuff as good so yeah, letā€™s just get into it.

  • The return of the Dora Milaje was awesome and it felt so good to see Wakandans again after Endgame, just makes me more hyped for Black Panther 2 and makes me wonder if Zemo will be in it since theyā€™re looking for him. We actually have him to thank for Black Panther being such a amazing movie. His thirst for vengeance showed Tā€™Challa it was wrong to be that way and turned him around. I hope heā€™s in 2 honestly.

  • Speaking of Zemo, yet another iconic moment for him singing a childrenā€™s song. He is the master of manipulation and the fact that he automatically knew how to get to kids is incredible. Shows he really was a family man. It was very creepy honestly but sort of hauntingly cool like Ultronā€™s No Strings On Me. He is so amazing, lol.

  • Sam and Karli getting moments to realize their similarities was great. Karli is not bad, just a victim of bad circumstance, same as Sam, Bucky, Sharon and Zemo. Almost all the characters in this show honestly. No one is pure good or bad.

  • And I mean. John Walker. Wow. Lamar was kinda boring, but his death was so sad. His friendship with him was all that was keeping him from insanity. Thatā€™s almost heartbreaking honestly and then seeing him smash his shield in that guy, a direct parallel to what Cap was about to do in Civil War, was just so powerful. I feel many havenā€™t noticed that. He did what Steve was going to do but didnā€™t. He was consumed by anger and revenge, the opposite of Steve. Steve knew he was wrong and gave his shield to Tony. Because he believed Tony in the end and wanted to end it with giving him what he wanted. His fatherā€™s shield. This episodeā€¦my goodness.

TL:DR. Amazing episode, 11/10. Two more left, and the show keeps getting better. So hyped.
