Emulators Usage

I’ve recently sent a ticket to support regarding the use of an emulator and a macro recorder specifically for the use of buying gold crates or for invasion bots. The latter is an obvious violation but I wanted to get a definitive answer from PerBlue. Below image is an excerpt from support’s response.

I’ve used an emulator (bluestacks) to play DHBM and for other mobile games and just found out that it’s not supported by PerBlue. Is the potential suspension/ban based on how the emulator is being used or just by using it to play the game can result in a suspension/ban?

I’d appreciate if someone can share their perspective on the use of an emulator to play DHBM.

I think it is the latter, and it should be somewhere in the ToS I assume :man_shrugging:

I’ve read their ToS and as usual with other ToS some wording are generalised and is therefore open to interpretation. There’s no specific mention of emulators being prohibited.

I’ve search the forum for topics related in emulators but found no useful information.

I’m aware other players use bluestacks as there have been mentions of it and images/screenshot being posted but I haven’t seen any post from PerBlue staffs condemning it or indicating that it can get an account suspended/banned.

Maybe @Loutre can pitch in on this so that players know where PerBlue stands regarding the use of emulators?

Anything that can be used to allow you to do things that a regular player on their phone cannot do can cause you to be banned so yes an autoclicker/macros can end with a suspension/ban.

Bluestacks is a little more tricky as we do have things in place to send automatic warnings/ban/suspension when it detects a third party software being used and it may ping for Bluestacks as you can use Bluestacks in a way that would allow you to do things a regular player on their phone cannot.

Here is from the TOS

You agree NOT to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Game in any form of client or server, including code in any and all programming languages;
  • modify or attempt to modify or in any way tamper with the Game

I always assumed that PB’s non-support of Bluestacks meant that you could use it, but that they weren’t going to optimise the game for it or fix any bugs that were confined to it

Obviously using it in a malicious way to introduce 3rd party code or automation is a whole other matter :face_with_monocle:

I am not going to advocate for or against any Bluestacks usage or how it violates ToS etc.

However the two instances mentioned at the beginning - macro recording Gold Crates or Invasion Bots do, at the end, get insignificant end results, even if Gold is a way to score points in contest (since, thx PB, the rank contest rewards are nowadays equally insignificant).

One note here: the first instance would be actually avoidable if the devs gave a choice to “Buy All” in Gold Crates. But since we know the answer, we might still see someone using macro recorder on that. :man_shrugging:

Second technically too - by doing what is done for breakers, for bots. Or, even better, choose buffs to spend on every fight during Auto Quick Fight.
