Event times don't align with game time

This is something that has been bothering me for some time now. I live in EST and the ‘new day’ starts at 5:00am, which is not a problem at all.

The problem is that events start at radical times and often without any or very short notice.

For example, the Mickey celebration event went live at 5:00am yesterday while I was active. I work nights so this often is a small boon for me. However, when I woke up in the afternoon there was an update that added new features including the blimp which doubles Port drops. I had blown through my port attempts already and as a result missed out on millions of dollars that I would have loved for upgrading my characters.

This has happened a number of times – I will use my stamina in the morning before I go to bed and when I wake up I will find out that double drop day activated at like 9:00am.

Please, please either standardize times (all events immediately activate with the new day) or give us 24 - 48 hours notice in game so we can plan around it. No one should have to wait through half the day before playing out of fear of missing a completely random event.

It would be extremely difficult to do this for some things. Events are typically active for at east 24 hours, ensuring everyone, no matter their timezone, gets an opportunity to participate. For thing such as contests, given the game is played worldwide, that would be a logistic and coding nightmare ti have it start at each timezone reset (which is 5 am in whatever timezone you are, not 5 am EST, 4 am CST, 3 am PST, etc)

I didn’t realize it was 5am everywhere! That’s a bizarre way to do things. But in that case all that is necessary is 24 - 48 hours notice. Or standardize double drop days.

Agreed!

That’s why it’s important to manage your time wisely.
