What’s the trick to defeating the blue guys that seem to resist almost everything?
Fantastic Damage. Normal Damage does not work no matter how strong the hero is, for example: Dash
Bear with me as I am still kinda new with this stuff. What is fantastic damage?
Tap a hero in the heroes roster screen and head to skills. There it will indicate with an icon whether the skill does fantastic damage.
To make it a bit more clear in classic RPG terms; fantastic damage is magic damage. All other skills do physical damage.
Some heroes with definitive fantastic damage skills are elastigirl, jack jack, and vanellope.
Gotcha. That makes more sense. Thanks for that!
Fire_Fly explained it well. The first ones you’ll encounter in campaign would resist normal damage. (From my understanding that might mean they are totally immune to that kind of damage meaning it will have no effect on them at all.) Later on you can also encounter enemies that resist fantastic damage. So when facing either type of enemy you should have heroes on your team that they resist.
My advice for early play is elastigirl. She deals lots of fantastic damage, and can knockback the resisting enemy, so you can kill the ones that were behind them.
Great explanations and advice everyone. I really appreciate that.
read all before you play.
This is what I have been searching for! Thanks for the answers!
@Choach_McGoach, I’m wondering what server and Team Level are you. Watch out for Brutes that resist Normal Damage. Once you advance in Chapter 7 Normal Campaign, make sure to watch out for Skeletons, they’re like Brutes, but Skellies are immune to Fantastic Damage.
This whole shield or armor thing needs to be reworked
Where shields take tons of damage from range attacks but takes normal or less damage from melee (but now you can do at least do some kind of damage of worked this way)
(how the game thinks)
Then armor takes tons of damage from melee but takes normal or less from range (again assuming the game would think this way)
As of now you better hope you have the right characters with you otherwise yak is the only one dealing damage which is not fun
Jack jack, Nick, Elastigirl, Sully, Mike and Zurg can deal with the blue bat enemies.
Calhoun, Dash, Hector Barbossa, Mr. Incredible and Merida can deal with the skeletons.
I honestly run a mixed team in campaign, particularly for Chapter 9 at server 11. Even if I’m level 71 the fights are insane. 3 starring elite missions takes luck and planning. I keep my fingers and toes crossed that my team does not die ( it has happened) lol. Game starts easy at low levels then exponentionally gets insanely you’ve-got-to-be-kidding-me hard.
Therein lies the root of many players’ frustrations. I honestly believe that PerBlue’s game developers mean well but it can sometimes be difficult to find that balance where a game is challenging enough to keep the player engaged but easy enough to advance with persistence and strategy. While I still think that Disney Heroes is essentially a good game; the last few updates, especially as level caps are raised, are becoming increasingly more frustrating even for daily VIP players like myself. Frustrating your players is never a good thing but if this keeps up and PerBlue continues to ignore player feedback (cut it out with the dismissive form letters!) more and more players will become frustrated to the point that participation will drop as players simply stop playing. What’s the fun in fighting battles with high level characters just to be defeated repeatedly?
A good counter for those resisting Creeps? Elastigirl with Vanellope disk, especially if you’re fighting Skellies and Ghouls.
