Guild Recruitment Chat Channels

Please add chat channels in-game dedicated to players that want to post up their creative guild recruitment messages. I want to stop posting my massive guild recruitment messages on the Global and VIP channels and feel less bad about interrupting other peoples conversations.

I don’t know about all of you, but if I was having a pleasant conversation with another person and some rude rando came at me and slammed a wall of text into my metaphorical face demanding I join their cult or whatever I would be pretty irritated lol

Some Actual Points

  1. De-cluttering the Chat Channels
I’ve noticed that guild recruitment messages have become larger and larger as time goes by. Whether it’s trying to cram as much details about their guild in chat or making increasingly creative and eye-catching messages, these guild messages can be a little disruptive in chat. Having a dedicated chat channel for guild recruitment ensures that guilds will have an outlet to sell their guild without cluttering the regular chats (Global and VIP).

  2. Not Being Silences by Mod Bots
There have been some incidents where players have been chat silences by bots for posting up their guild recruitment messages. It’s an honest mistake since bots aren’t perfect, but it’s better than having an actual person monitor the chat 24/7 because that’s just exhausting. Having a dedicated channel might lower these incidents as bots can be programmed to allow guild recruitment messages to be posted frequently in the designated channel and not accidentally label them as spam or something that violated the code of conduct.

  3. Chat Cooldown on the Guild Recruitment Channel
Now of course there will be cases of people abusing this channel, especially if they’re a little too gun-ho to sell their guild. Copy-paste spam can be a problem if a guild tries to spatially bully out other guilds’ recruitment messages. So a solution to this would be to implement some kind of chat cooldown system on those who post on the guild recruitment channel. Maybe allow players to post once every 5 minutes (or longer) in that channel to reduce potential conflict.

First off: cult is a no no…
Second off: When that happens we learn to tune them out of block them.
Third off:What is to stop a certain guild from spamming this new chat with only their advertisements?
Fourth off: How would you foece people to advertise only in this said communication post?

Sure, you can block a person, but it’s honestly your loss to do so. Waiting 7 days to unblock a person is inconvenient, but whatever. The problem is that guild messages can get pretty bulky and the most simplistic solution is to move them elsewhere to a new channel so people can have their conversations on regular chat while people who need to sell their guilds can do so without spamming Global and VIP. It’s not a matter of learning to ignore the message, but a matter of convenience and ease of communication.

Mods and the mod bots in game are pretty good at overseeing the chat. However, the mod bots aren’t perfect and some players have been silenced on for posting up their guild recruitment messages because the bots perceive it as potential spam. A separate guild recruitment channel can reduce these kinds of incidences as guild recruitment messages won’t be cluttering the regular chat channels.

Another thing PerBlue can implement is chat cooldowns where guild recruitment messages can be posted once every 10 minutes or longer so that players don’t go around spamming their recruitment on the channel

Again, we have mods and mod bots that can make sure players stick to using a guild recruitment channel. And we can reply on players to report those that try to clutter the regular channels. Like this is a non-issue because it’s a completely self-explanatory solution trying to fix the main problem, de-cluttering the regular channels while providing a service to help guild recruitment.
