Heist AFK WHY?!?!

Just did a heist with three AFK players, INCLUDING the creator. So annoying when only two of five actively participate, but all five get the rewards. If they don’t give the option to boot members, there should at least rewards for the amount of clues found.

What if you played the whole heist and got a phone call at the end making you afk. Then you wouldn’t get your rewards for playing the majority of the game? That doesn’t sound fair. Perhaps you dont get rewards for hero fights during time you are afk and a prorated penalty to diamonds for time afk.

How about instead of an auto kick, you could vote to kick needing a “yes kick” from all active players.

That is why it’s the Heist Creator’s discretion to kick anytime. I won’t kick people if they are participating.

It’s about reputation. If people on my server knows I don’t kick unless they AFK, then they will join my Heist and avoid others that kick without merit.

Duhhhhh

Giving heist hosts the ability to kick players would be a huge mistake. You can’t guarantee all hosts would be trustworthy, so there’s too much risk of abuse.

I do hate the AFK situation, though. I am tired of doing work for others to reap rewards. The only solution would be to not play heist, but then I lose out on hundreds of heist coins each day.

This is one reason why there is no way I’m paying 500 (or 470) for a ticket. It’s grossly expensive.

That is far too many City Watch tokens to be at the mercy of others.

Sure, I can solo a Medium…but that will take over 1/2 hr and loses the social aspect of the game. Having (reliable) help makes it faster and more fun.

Oh yes a voting feature sounds awsome!!!

Waiting to see what kind of solution Perblue got in store for us the next month, these players really need to severely be punished for this kind of action. When you sign up for work, you’re not going in there to not do anything right? Then it’s exactly the same thing, you sign up for the Heist, then you got a job to do, you take the same responsibility like the 4 other players. Too boring? Takes too much time? Too bad! You bother to click on that little button to join right? Then you won’t bother to help a bit, or are you going to your boss or teacher and tell them, this work “it takes to much time, or it’s boring”! it’s a real time mode, takes roughly max up to 10 min (hard mode can take slightly a little more depends in finding the hidout) if everyone participates. If people start with the mentality of “to much time consumption” then it sure will! Once again imagine getting a monthly salary just like the other workers, the same amount, only difference is, you did nothing, yet you recieved it! I’m sorry but that is not how it works!
I understand something unpredictable can happen, but than it means we won’t recieve a real solution, it’s a small price to pay.
Also I agree the host getting absolute power in kicking players inside the heist might not be the best solution, which can be easily abused.
But I got confidence Perblue will balance it somehow and make justice.

The real question is, is Perblue planning to “fix” this problem? @Polaris

Good question.

Combine the ignorance to the issue with the absurd ticket prices it seems like perBlue have already given up on the game mode.

It’s a broken mess that costs way too much for the privilege…lol

“Heist improvements:
-Working on ways to address “AFK”/inactive players”.
This was in their patch notes, so I guess they are.

How about letting people in heists see who is starting the fights. So if it is same guy constantly, then you know who not to play with in future. Andmake it where if person blocked by team leader, can’t even join their heist . So screw around starting fights or bad playing, block em and don’t have to deal with them in your heists.

Interesting, so in their infinite wisdom to make us pay 2.5 times MORE knowing there IS a problem; that’s actually worse. Way worse.

We would be happier to pay a bit more if those problems were gone and it was more rewarding for the time commitment it requires.

Honestly, it still feels like it’s in beta stage.

It is fun, but so easily ruined by AFK’s and the reward absolutely does not correlate with the ticket cost and time commitment required.

I find it a rather odd move from them making the ticket more expensive, which I agree you, Perblue should have waited until most of the problem is solved. Could be just to check if players now are more carefull with their tickets including the AFK’s ones, which was an easy fail prediction, since we already know what these players want. However, Perblue acknowledge the problem is a start (except overpricing the ticket), we’ll just going to have to wait and see.

About the mode beeing considered as beta I understand what you mean, but only until a certain point. There still a few adjustments can be made to make it more comfortable and enjoyable, but, unfortunately, once again it’s not the mode that it’s unplayable but rather the player who makes it, because in reality, the Heist is fine as it is, these AFK’s are the ones who arranged poor excuses and attempts to have a much easier time.
I just hope if we ever get a fix for this, is enough to have at least a pleasant heist run everyday.

Just another thought from me. Get some friends together(or guildmates) and work together to try to coordinate a time when you all can be on together. Play a heist then! Not only does this solve the problem of an afk player in your heist, it should also help with bonding between you all. In addition, you would have knowledge of your friends skill lvl and could set the heist accordingly. I know it isnt the best solution but i think for now it is the best you are gonna get. At least until perblue tries (or begins) to fix the solution. And that could take till the next big update. Juat my idea hope it helps!

Not only could the host abuse the afk kick ability, but it doesn’t solve the problem if they are afk.

Oh of course, I’ve been doing that - out of necessity. The cost is too big to risk going public, which comes with the consequence of having more limited opportunities to heist and a lack opportunity to meet other quality heist players out there.

Games like this need that social element to help make it thrive, the current heist situation is not helping there one bit.

I’ve made a list of efficient people from my guild and other accomplished players of other guilds I usually find in Coliseum and Arena as alternative, reliable players. Private, high quality player heists. NO AFKs. End of the problem.

I’ve skimmed through the posts and hoping that this post will help the dev team. @Polaris - i know there’s a lot of posts about it, but please hear me out.

  1. Some people suggested to have a time limit to kick them out - I don’t agree, since some AFK actually guard the gems, which is what we need.

  2. To create an incentive for AFK players, @Razzle_Dazzle suggested to reward a token for every 5 minutes defending a gem or 5 tokens awarded when your toon found the thief.

  3. the actual AFK that frustrates us all - if they are not guarding or not moving, there should be a “group vote” to kick him out of heist, and allow others to join. This AFK should not be refunded the ticket and/or be rewarded.

  4. If the group vote is not allowed, then at least if they were inactive for at least 3 minutes, allow the other players to move them.

  5. Guys, please understand this. If you go public, you’ll face a lot of inexperienced users. So accept the fact that there will be players that will press fight immediately, that will pull toons from gems, and so on. Help them, don’t yell at them. Not gonna lie, I did get frustrated, and maybe at some point I would scream out saying DON’T PULL but let them know how to play so we can all have good experience. Friend them if you like to play with them again, and start a private one and invite them to have more enjoyable heist.

That’s all for now, but if there’s any suggestions, I’ll post it here.
Thanks y’all.
