So I’ve tried to craft a purple badge but apparently it’s not the same as purple item . Could someone plz explain it? Appreciate !

Purple items don’t give points. Only orange items give points.

I see. Idk, it said purple for me. 
I also don’t have orange badges for my characters ( last badges color is purple )

Me too. I made a purple like it said to and it didn’t do anything. I also don’t see any infected places. I’ve been trying to figure it out all day.
I’m guessing you don’t have orange badges on s14 yet, so they most likely changed the text to purple. There’s a chance that the event still only counts orange, even if the text was changed.
Do a report in-game and ask them to look into it.
As for infected they happen on areas already cleared after awhile. Looks like this
