Lack of Villain Support characters?

This is going to suck for the Invasion too probably, but even going through the CW for the contest made me realize that there seriously needs to be a villain or two that can be a support for the team. I may be missing someone, but I don’t believe that any of the villains are support. There are quite a few “witches” that could be healers since they wield magic, so it sucks that they usually just predictably end up as Control, and maybe Damage. I get that most bad guys don’t help people in their respective stories, but just for the sake of the gameplay.

My Villain team had zero ways to regain health or project shields except for Dr. Facilier and Oogie, to themselves only. I’d assume this is going to be a theme every year at least, maybe somewhat around Halloween too, so the variety would be very welcome for such an occasion…

A Villain character is kind of opposite of what a supports role is, so thats why there is generally no villain that are in the support catagory and is likely not going to be one in that catagory in the future. Is there a single villain that you can think of that would help the team through healing, shielding or buffing allies? It would have to be something unique to be a support villain, but i guess it is not impossible.

The Fates from Hercules could be a support trio

(I made a concept of them too)

There are just a few villains who can take this role. I thought of Mr. Waternoose, as he provides energy to the monster world.

If Liquidator comes (From DarkWing Duck) I see him being Support but, that’s highly unlikely

If Megavolt can make it, he will too

Sort of goes against the idea of being evil to support.

Agree 100%. I’d like to see Claude Frollo as a support or a backline tank since I’m not aware of any of those.

Then he wouldn’t be a tank

Well, if we used the term “villain” a bit more loosely, and also included those who already support their villains, then we get Smee, The butler from princess and the frog, the eels, etc.

those are characters that support their boss, so why not support other villains too?

Yea… Lock, Shock, & Barrel, Beagle boys, etc.

I don’t think any of them are good for support… like, at all

  • LSB are mischievous children. They have all sorts of weapons. And their character is in no form of supporting. All the help they gave was “finding” Skellington.
  • The Beagle Boys. They look like thieves and are always trying to punch the McDuck family. I don’t think they deserve to be a support hero (trio).

I think the Fates are the only villains that can be a support hero (trio).

I don’t see them as supports… but they’re supporting villains, I only see some villains possibly being supports… such as
•Liquidator (DarkWing Duck)
•The Evil Queen (Snow White)
•Cruella De Ville (101 Dalmatians)

I see most villains as Control & Damage though, not much support

Even if you look at Hades, he has a skill that redirects damage from the team to himself, so I don’t see why it has to immediately be “they are a Villain, they can’t do anything to help the team” when it comes to the game play/abilities. This entire game basically suspends their normal reality and have them working together in unison at any given time, no need to 100% stick to the “normal” roles that these villains would fill in a game such as this. For instance, Yzma did bad things in her appearances, but how hard would it have been to just give her a potion ability that did some kind of supporting for the team?

That being said, I do think that some interesting characters could fill these roles. Speaking of Yzma, Kronk would be fun. While not “evil”, he did assist a Villain and could serve as support of some kind with his cooking, retrieval speed, etc. Te Ka (Moana) could be fun since we have a giant Alice. It could have a Te Fiti alter ego-type of ability that supports the team, then let him take control back. Syndrome has a bunch of gadgets, something that can support like Gizmoduck would work. They can make it work, but like others, the devs seem to be stuck in auto anti support role for them and it’s made this theme/grouping become very unbalanced because of it.

But we can only see her feet when she is enormous

I just meant if they wanted to go with a larger character in terms of scale, they could potentially do it. Or, just make them way taller onscreen than the rest, but the Alice route seems like it would work better visually if they are hulking beasts.

I think Mother Gothel or even MCP, Master Control Program.

Both would make interesting Support Villains.
