Level cap increase solutions

So lots of people are saying the level caps are coming too fast and others are saying that they are fine and let people stay competitive!

I wanted to make this so we could suggest ideas in one place so it’s easy for perblue to see what we are saying.

So my idea is that the caps keep coming just as fast and exactly the same, but every so many days like 5 or a week after the cap raise the team xp gets lowered by 1000, and then after the usual 4 week increase they go up again, and this restarts.

So competitive players can still have a race for the top and others can catch up a bit easier, what do you think?

Only saw one, and to be honest I’m not sure if it’s a troll.

Caps definitely rise too often.

Firstly, this forum has become an echo chamber of people repeating and reinforcing the same messages.

Secondly, for every 1 person that complains, there are 100s if not 1000s that don’t. Please don’t consider what is spoken about on these forums as a representative of how the “full” player base feels - this is completely inaccurate.

Personally - I don’t mind the pace of the game releases. I would like a full 5 weeks so I can complete my savings for next patch but the quick increases don’t affect me as I am willing to pay to enjoy the experience of levelling up many heroes, and I do want a challenge. Furthermore, if the length of each patch, say doubled, I would be bored. And while most don’t care if I’m bored, PB does because they know a bored spender is no longer a spender.

…that being said, I am also a guild leader and I do care if my guild isn’t able to keep up. At the moment most in my guild seem to be a little behind and the general feedback was that this past patch was a little too short.

If patches were going to be extended, I would vote for patches no longer than 6 weeks (42 days).

One wonders whether the ‘voice’ of those who give their opinions here should carry more weight, since those who don’t are likely either

  • the more casual player who just hops on the game when they feel like it, and isn’t really affected by such mechanics
  • those who think ‘that’s not my responsibility’, or ‘he already said that’, or ‘i’m not really a forum user’.
  • those who aren’t even aware of the forum’s existence (it’s been a lot more active since the announcement channel was created, which is great).

This is exactly right & probably goes for most other spenders, and is what makes balancing it tricky for PB.

As someone on the other end of the scale, who rarely ever spends anything at all but tries to make up for it by playing a lot, I agree that 6 weeks would be a fair length of time.

All that said, though, I don’t actually think the rate of level cap increase is too long. I can comfortably gain the 5 levels required before the new update comes around each time. The big issue is with badge ranks / rarities, and this can be alleviated in other ways than extending the level cap duration. So, I would be fine with the current rate of updates, if collecting badges & promoting heroes was made easier. As I mentioned elsewhere, we’ll see what effect the new stamina cost adjustment has.

I feel like the level increase is not really the full highlight of the issue. It’s what comes with it what I think mostly upsets a lot of people.
At this point every 5 level increase will always follows by a new badge tier.
That new badge tier is what’s annoying and upsetting in my opinion. It is so difficult to get those badges and bits especially for those who don’t spend at all or who spends a little here and there.
Yes the stamina cost is reduced but the issue is more on the drop rate. Let’s be honest the drop rates are a total joke. 1 orange badge with 50 bits needs around 3k staminas with powercraft. Some badges could cost even more. It is very frustrating.

I think they should start slowing it down more.
Wanna add level and tier, sure, but be more considerate.
Do level increase every 4 - 5 weeks, but give more more time with tier increase.
E.g. 130-135 lv will unlock O7 but only 1 - 2 badges will be available to be equipped and/or crafted. 135-140lv increase will unlock 2 - 3 other O7 badges depending on the heroes. 140-145lv will unlock all badges for O7. 145-150lv will unlock another tier, so on and so forth.

I think it’ll give ppl more time to actually catch up. Lv increase will become less overwhelming. Ppl actually have more time to try working on other heroes, etc.

Idk it’s just my thoughts on this issue.

The badges and rarity are problems, Yes. But the other problem is that the exp for each level is so high (after 100+)

With 10.000 exp per level, as a F2P, I could somehow keep up with our server max level. Not reach the max lv though, but I’m not far away

Now, with 15.000 exp, I’m falling farther and farther behind… and with the way it is heading, It will just get worse

So, if they could lower Exp per level, that’d be wonderful

Now I’ve been playing for a long time like everyone has, but part of what made progressing with rarity and level was the fact that the trials have badges that were on par with the current rarity that were seen in multiple characters. The current trial rewards do not do this and I’ve even run low on the lower tiered badges that are required in bigger badge crafting. I think if they were to extend the selection of badges offered in trials to pick what we needed and have other badges (the ones that every hero in the new rarity needed) there would be less of a need for slowing down the level/rarity increases. But making it 6/7 weeks would really be appreciated and make it more effective.
