And your attempts have backfired…
That has no relation to the metaphor filade was talking about 🤦
I never said you were, I just said I don’t think you understand the situation
For spreading fuel into the fire
Nor does Alyssa or you 🤷
I’m done with this topic, this topic was spreading fuel into a fire and you still don’t understand. You think this was a cute meme for fun but you don’t understand that the meme was about a troll/spammer trying to make their opinions facts on a spam thread of theirs (I’m talking about Alyssa). Anyways I’m done here there is no reasoning with you (nor was there on the Donald Duck thread a couple months ago which I had to break up since you were insistent you were the one in the right after I tried correcting you on two small things)
His name is louie the the mountain lion I didn’t know they were a puma I apologize and you didn’t like it and this is getting off topic, and like I said I am done with this topic
Look, this conversation is getting no where. The point is we tried to reason with Alyssa. She overreacted, insulted basically every forumer in the process and refused to listen to what anyone had to say. And this meme did not make things any better. End of story. Move on!
How do I say this… none of this “war” would have happened if it weren’t for your insults or attempts to force your opinions onto us. This dispute has nothing to do with TP’s or Frozen’s failure/success.
Hey come on. Let’s be kind. We all have our fav Disney movies here so let’s be respectful. TP was good. Frozen was good. Fighting isn’t good.
@Alyssa1 why do you always compare movies based off of their Box Office success? Back when Treasure Planet was released, movies were far less accessible to a wider audience and going to the cinemas wasn’t as normal as it is now. It makes sense that the Frozen movies and Toy Story 4 did well financially because the world’s population is far greater, more people are able to go and see movies. Inflation also masks the true success of Treasure Planet as the monetary value of a ticket back then has since increased significantly.
Stop getting so hung up about the amount of money a movie made as that in no way defines its success. You are angry for all the wrong reasons and until you accept that society has changed since Treasure Planet was released you will continue to see Frozen as more successful simply because it was released in a different time. Had Frozen and Treasure Planet had their release dates swapped I’m sure the box office results would have reflected this change.
If you are really passionate about Treasure Planet then you shouldn’t have to see it through the amount of money it made. If all you can think about is the financial success of a movie then you are the one who isn’t a real Disney fan.
I agree with Stitch and imagine, I love Frozen and Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4
Okay come on. Let’s take a deep breath. The 2000s Disney movies were good like Lilo & Stitch and TP since it has a Stitch plushie Easter egg lol! Take a chance and watch the movie since you may like it. Be positive since that’s what real Disney fans do!
I believe we all should remind @Alyssa1, here, the respect we showed for her love of TP in her appreciation thread. We were all accepting, right? Now, why can’t Alyssa show that kindness back to us? Huh, @Alyssa1?
!!! Look at what I found! Another Drama thread!
Alyssa, you did well the previous thread, just take a deep breath and calm down.
If not…Imma just sit back and watch again.
Grabs Popcorn.
This is starting to remind me of that funny Monty Python sketch…
“I came here for an argument.”
“No you didn’t!”
“Yes I did!”
What exactly does the size of the world’s population have to do with this? What sense does that even make?
And that’s exactly what I’ve been desperately trying to tell you guys. Box-office results don’t actually determine a movie’s quality and worth. Actual audience reception does. Unfortunately, it’s the mindset that the executives have in which if a movie bombed, then that means it’s bad and that if a movie does well financially, then that means it’s good because that’s not always the case.
Actually, marketing and timing can either make or break a movie. TP flopped so hard only because it had atrocious advertising that ended up making the movie look bad when it really wasn’t as bad as the commercials and TV spots made it out to be and because it was released around the same time as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Gangs of New York, and even Disney’s Santa Claus 2, so it never stood a chance against those other movies that I mentioned. And there’s a possible conspiracy theory that Disney themselves set TP up to fail financially just so they can have an excuse to stop making 2D animated movies by shutting down their hand-drawn animation division in favor of producing CG-only movies since CG film animation became more popular and successful that made hand-drawn film animation become less and less popular and successful. And it was all motivated by profit, of course. There’s a viral video on YouTube about that topic that I highly recommend you check out. It’s definitely worth a watch: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b9sycdSkngA
Frozen did so massively well in theaters worldwide only because it had better advertising and better timing than TP with Let It Go being the main focus in it’s marketing campaign. So it doesn’t excuse the fact that Frozen is such a poorly-made, poorly-written, and poorly-executed movie with a rushed production all because of Let It Go.
Had TP had much better advertising and much better timing, it certainly would’ve done so massively well worldwide, more people would’ve given it a chance, and Disney would’ve definitely turned it into a huge billion dollar franchise. And had Frozen stuck with it’s original draft with Elsa as the villain as she was supposed to be instead of changing it along with Elsa completely just to “better fit” Let It Go, not only would it have been a much, much better movie than what we ended up getting, but it would’ve definitely deserved all the love, attention, recognition, praise, support, obsession, and representation and worldwide success and popularity as well, while also be deserving of having it’s very own large billion dollar franchise including a sequel.
I don’t judge a movie’s actual quality and worth by how much money it made when it was in theaters like the higher-ups do all the time because that’s just plain ignorant, stupid, and lazy. I only judge it through it’s actual audience reception by doing research online that involves reading and watching every single review of it. For TP, I’ve seen more positive reviews than I have for mixed and negative ones. So that proves it truly is an underrated and forgotten masterpiece and definitely not what it’s box-office results made it out to be. The undeserving hate towards it comes from Treasure Island purists, brainwashed Disney fans, and biased, selfish, and entitled Disney shills and the criticisms toward it are nothing but baseless nitpicks. For Frozen, while I have seen lots of positive reviews, I’ve seen many, many mixed to negative reviews. The truth is that the “positive” reviews are more biased, ignorant, blind, and mindless and they all come from both Disney shills and brainwashed Disney fans. The majority of the mixed and negative ones were from those who didn’t allow their emotions to get the best of them and were able to look beyond it’s great animation and visuals to see and notice it’s many, many severe flaws that ultimately prevent it from truly becoming a high-quality and timeless classic and that it really wasn’t as good as everybody else including the mainstream media and Disney themselves made it out to be. So the majority of the mixed to negative reviews towards Frozen were brutally-honest at best. So the moral is that research is important, always fact check, and make sure that the information including reviews that you’re getting from are from valid and trusted sources and not from sources that are full of nothing but lies. Knowledge is power.
And for the last time, none of those movies that you mentioned are actually good and worthy of all the love, attention, recognition, and representation in everything that Disney runs on and licenses with including this game.
More people = more tickets sold
The world’s population does affect Box Office results not the overall popularity or quality.
If TP had been released at the time of Frozen II after months and months of advertising everywhere it would have made just as much if not more.
And that’s such a ridiculous, unfounded, and ignorant argument and assumption to make.
So TP would have made less than Frozen? If you say so.
Which is a bit ridiculous
Don’t trust other’s opinions until you can make one yourself in first-person
TP had less attention, so that calls for less reviews. Frozen had more attention, so that calls for more reviews. See what I mean? If TP were equally as popular as Frozen, then the amount of reviews would be fair game, but it isn’t
Respect is also power. You need knowledge and respect to become powerful. You have lost a lot our respect for you and you have no knowledge as to what a fact or opinion is. Long story short: You have very little power.
No! Why do you think that The Lion King, which came out many years before TP and Frozen, became one of the highest-grossing animated movies of all time?
