Making Friendships 101

One of the most important ingredients for making a concept is friendships. As everyone is well aware, every hero has two friendships but what some may not know is that there are several things to consider than just pasting two character together. And this lesson is about what when you stumped on the friends section.

CHEMISTRY

The most important part of a friendship is chemistry. If you are doing a character from a franchise that is already in the game, the easiest way to make a friend for that character of the same franchise. The can be best friends (like Ralph/Vanellope, Woody/Buzz, and Moana/Maui) love interests (like Belle/Beast, Aladdin/Jasmine, and Felix/Calhoun) or they can be enemy forming a temporary alliance if you want to have some fun (like Timon and Pumbaa/Scar, Buzz/Zurg, and Peter/Hook).

If you want your character to be friends with someone from a different franchise, that’s when chemistry and a bit of creativity really comes into play. First, you must find a character that you think would make a really good team. Then, you must find what they have in common.

Let’s, take the friendship between Slinky Dog and Tigger for example. What do they have in common?

Very… incomplete

I’m treating this as if it was an actual class, sorry for the confusion and the incompletion.

Mr. Toon, I think it’d be best if you treated this as a guide instead of a school unit :no_mouth:

Come on Djaq, i want this to be a more interactive guide. I maybe have some fun if you are in to that sort of thing. Besides, we are missing one obvious similarity (other than bouciness) between Slinky and Tigger.

They are toys

And I want it to be less clickbait-y. If you’re gonna make a “how to”, you need to make it as complete as possible.

If you want to make this guide more like a class, I recommend renaming it something like Making Friendships 101.

other idea is a dog and a cat, if someone make the friendship campaign they fight or something? because is a dog and a cat

Correct!

:black_small_square:They both are toys @Disney-Fan
:black_small_square:They have a spring in their step @Filadae_Djaq
:black_small_square:They both have a rather large and diverse family @Rinoxer0nte

It similarities like these that make a good friendship.

Of course, there are some real odd ball friendship that don’t make much sense.

Can anyone name some friendships that didn’t make much sense to them (in-game or in a concept that they saw)

Off the top of my head:

John Silver/Olaf
Maximus/T&P
Basil/Mushu
Basil/Randall

Good. Very good.

Even though these are odd comos they somehow make it work. Whether they make sense or not always have some clarity of who your character is friends with and have a legimate reason for it.

For tomorrow’s lesson in friends, we will be discussing friendship campaign and why they are so important.

Friendship Campaign

For this lessons, we are going to discuss friendship campaigns. The friendship campaign are a little bit different from the regular campaign and the elite. For one thing, the setup. Unlike the two, friendship are a story away from the story. For alot of people either make their campaign vague or skip it completely because they think it is not important. But i say different.

Now, can anybody tell me why friendship campaign are important in a friendship besides the disk?

Have fun reading a story I think

Sure it is fun to read the story. But why is it important for the two characters in the friendship?

Really no idea

Exploration! It explores the relationship between the two characters further through a fun story. As the story progresses, their relation blossoms and the grow a mutural respect for each other in the end.

Now, to make a summary, it must explore the similarity and figure what they should do while togethet. Do not make them vague like: “Joy helps Sadness be happy.” That’s not going to peak anyones interest. To make a summary of a campaign. Be specific. Make your viewer want to know what happens next. Really think on how they’re going to do it. And if you do it right, it should come out like this: “Noticing that Sadness was extra sad, Joy shows her the wonders of the city to make her happy.” Finally, it never hurts to add a snappy name for your campaign, give it a little extra pizzazz.

Now, for our next lesson tomarrow, we’re going to discuss the structure of the campaign for those who are interested in making campaign of their own.
