Other have already mentioned that Maximus will heal while disabled, but I have not seen anyone mention that the attack portion of his Green ability has the tendency to miss. I have witnessed several occasions in which Maximus will spit the apple core behind him away from all enemies and deal no damage.

It can miss very often indeed.
On the other hand, it might be because of the Basic Damage being used to deal Damage to the enemies. I guess attacks scaling by BD can miss for example due to Blind and other stuff @General_Chainsaw_LXVIII.
Well something needs to be fixed. Either the attack itself or the animation of it flying backwards.
