I have somehow managed to amass over 1000 raid tokens, which is great knowing I’ll never have issues with raiding. But I find myself starved of gold all the time. It would be a welcomed change to make all items able to be sold (hero chips also - I have some chips remaining over my 5* heroes so could do with the gold from selling them).

Agree, there are becoming too many ‘dead ends’ in the game, dead ends is what makes players quit.
The main thing many of us play for is the progression, once that stalls - we move on.
For high level VIP players.
- Raid tickets overflowing.
- Guild crates have become useless.
- Have excessive hero chips to needs.
- Hit team level 80 and cannot go higher.
The more of those that get addressed, the better. Or we will get bored and play another game.
So far the only way to use excess hero chips is through certain friend missions
