Numi's Mode Refreshes Part 1: Crates

Hi everyone! This is the first part of my Mode Refreshes, which is revolving around the crates.

This includes: Gold Crates, Diamond (and Team and Role) Crates, Red Skill Crates, Cosmetic Crates, Guild Crate, VIP Crate, Special Crates (for Diamonds, Arena, City Watch and Coliseum) and Megabit Crates.


GOLD CRATE
These should have drops changed to 90 % Badges and 10 % Hero Chips. Credits and XP Drinks given in them are not relevant and therefore the chances should be changed to 0 %.
The 90 % badges odds should divide into (it being a 100 % overall):
15 % White badges
15 % Green badges
15 % Blue badges
25 % Purple bits
30 % Orange bits

Current instance of Gold Crates returns about ~55% of Gold spent while the drops usually donā€™t help the players that much. Price should not be changed.


DIAMOND CRATE (plus Team and Role)
Similarly with Gold Crates, the Credits should either be dropped or changed to Emerald (we highly anticipate their final release).
Hero Chips odds should be evenly redistributed to the other rewards.
Odds proposed:
Badges: 36.8 %
ā€œFull Heroā€: 28 %
Credits: 20.8 %
XP Drinks: 14.4 %

Few things to note. Badges odds changed to evenly include:
Purple bits (amount equal to Max Team Level - currently 325),
Purple badges (amount equal to Max T.L. divided by 50 - currently 6),
Orange bits (amount equal to 75% of Max Team Level - currently 244),
Orange badges (amount equal to Max T.L. divided by 60 - currently 5),
Red bits (amount equal to 60% of Max Team Level - currently 195).

"Full Hero" now instead of 7/18/30 hero chips gives an amount equal to 1/10 of Max Team Level - currently 33.

XP Drinks are purple (amount equal to Max Team Level = 325 now) or orange (1/5 of purple amount, now 65).


GUILD CRATE
Buy 5 now works similarly to Diamond Crate. Badges are changed to only exclusively purple, orange, red and yellow bits. Compared to Diamond Crate the rates are halved, with yellow bits dropping in amount of 1/5 of Max Team Level = now 65.


VIP CRATE
The requirement is lowered from VIP 11 to VIP 7 (included with Removed Cooldowns).
The crate now gives 1/5 of Max Team Level as Hero Chips. (currently 65)
Credits and XP Drinks odds are removed - the VIP Crate solely gives Featured Hero Chips now.


RED SKILL CRATES
Similarly to a change in Epic City Watch, the Red Skill Crate Consumables as well as their Diamond variant are mixed up a bit.
Red Skill Crate Consumables are now redesigned and give an amount equal to 1x, 1.5x or 2x Max Team Level on each Server (Server 1 = 325, 478, 650).
Red Skill Crates for Diamonds give amount equal to at least 3.5x the Max Team Level (Server 1 = 1138).


COSMETIC CRATES
Every Open 10 of Cosmetic Crates (Purple ones) now guarantees one of the Cosmetics to not be a dupe.


SPECIAL CRATE (formerly dubbed Slinky)
Permanently defunct.

For Arena, City Watch and Coliseum Crates there are two approaches:

  1. Permanently defunct.

  2. All heroes featured in the respective Crates are not exclusive to the Crates only. Each Buy 5 now gives:
    1/5 of Max Team Level worth of Hero Chips (65 in Server 1), a Double Item (Double Normal/Elite Drops, Gold, Hero XP, Team XP), 500 Emerald Credits, 25 Red Skill Crates, 10 Megabit Crates)


MEGABIT CRATES
The drops are changed to 10x, 15x and 20x Max Team Level worth (3250, 6500, 9750 Megabits of a random kind).


MEMORY CRATE
A new crate to substitute the ā€œSpecial Crateā€. Costs 300 diamonds per Buy 1 and 1350 per Buy 5.
Each Buy 1 gives 1/10 of Max Team Level worth of disk bits for a random non-maxed disk. (Server 1 = 33).
Buy 5 has a specialty where it gives a 6th drop and lets player select a specific disk to gain bits for to get in the 6th drop.

Planned Part 2 is to be about Invasion and Heist, the most abandoned modes in the game currently.
Hopefully I can figure it out tomorrow, but itā€™s not a promise yet sadly.

Special note for @Nugget if this feedback somehow ends up being given to the dev team. I already posted an idea via support to propose new types of crates (especially for gold) named after the credits.

This idea focuses on not changing the current structure of the system and instead just change the contents.

Additionally, the Diamond Crates cost for diamonds in the ā€œCratesā€ should be changed to 1 for 100 and 10 for 900. Most likely they will need some conversion rate, since some players could store insane amounts of Diamond Crates if anything like this suggestion was implementedā€¦ or a new design would be required to distinguish the ā€œOldā€ and ā€œNewā€ Diamond Crates.
Same with the Team and Role ones.

This is great and really hope the team takes the feedback onboard

With regards to old/new, one approach would be that the team force opens all old crate by a specific date if remained unopened
Or just simply remove them from inventory after this date, similar to how infections were removed from campaigns.

I didnĀ“t think of that. But this is likely the best solution.

I like this one the most, Iā€™m hoping they use these Refresh ideas to refresh the crates, overall, the whole crate refresh is amazing, keep it up! Iā€™ll be waiting for the next oneā€‹:grin::joy:

I still think thereā€™s one crate need to refresh, which is badge booster crate.
The problem is they donā€™t drop many badge at equal to the team level, they have higher chance to get lower ones.
The system make me confused as the system actually wants me to promote all heroes (almost 200).

You then donĀ“t understand how the crates work. And I plan to do a ā€œbadge crate guideā€ at some point.

Basically it revolves around having 5 badges equipped and 6th crafted but not equipped for all the heroes you donĀ“t use.

OR having all heroes you donĀ“t use at Blue Rank.

More specificallyā€¦

This is obvious if you have 150+ heroes at purple rank vs 30 or less heroes at top rank.

Besides, the previously suggested wayā€¦ to craft and equip all 6 badges for respecitve rank does not work above Blue. At all times when you have all 6 badges equipped on a hero, Badge Crates can give a badge from the next rank. Additionally, Purple badges are never dropped from odds. And first Purple badges appear at Blue+2 rank. Hence why Blue rank is the last to have all 6 equipped and not interfere with the odds.
