Ranks outside of the Top 200 have their Ranks updated at least once a day, while Ranks inside of the Top 200 have their Ranks updated real-time.
Although, this happens in almost every contest… which doesn’t surprise me.

There needs to be a pop-up when you first enter the contest screen, saying in LARGE BOLD TEXT:
SCORES DO NOT UPDATE IN REAL TIME

The only thing I would change would be to have it pop up EVERY time. Granted, it would be annoying, bit nowhere near as annoying as the amount of times it comes up on the forums.

Lol we have this conversation every time there’s a contest. Maybe the pop up can be like the invasion one. It always pop ups unless you say you don’t need it/want it. It we can put it on the ranking screen at the top

They could also have a smaller text below where it states when the contest starts/ends.
“Ranks 200+ next update in xx hours xx minutes”

That would be great but it’s clearly not a plausible option. I don’t know that they are but it’s safe to assume that there is a technical/practical reason why it doesn’t happen already.
But without doubt something has to be changed.
It would just be a huge server load having to reshuffle the ranking order literally every time someone scored a point - probably many times a second, it’s just not feasible. So, that is restricted to the top 200 to be a more manageable load, while the total reshuffle is run at a relatively quiet time when load is low anyway (ie. the daily reset).
There just needs to be an ‘i’ tooltip with a short note about it… I believe it was passed on a long while ago, but hasn’t made an appearance yet

It’s always worked the same way; nothing has changed.

Scores have always updated in real time. It’s the rank (outside of the top 200) that update daily.
