Patch 4.5A - Contest Timing

So, I’m getting a little concerned and curious. Is it just me, or have the contests that are started after the new prize wall start seem to conveniently mess up the players that go ahead and do levels, promotions, or other “specific” tasks related to the new character once they get the hero?

Cinderella was supposed to be originally be released at the same time as the new contest. Ironically, she got released early and then on the day she was ACTUALLY supposed to be released, there’s a contest…with a large point gain from doing something pertaining to just her. Is this going to start becoming a pattern for the game? It happened last month with Bellwether, and possibly Quasimodo but I may be completely wrong about that timing. It’s a bit of a killjoy when it’s a back to back occurrence especially since there is no retroactive counting if it’s hero specific. Unless, that’s something that can be considered, doing retroactive counting when it’s a hero specific task.

I get that the release wanted to be early due to preparation for holiday break for the group. However, it could also be seen as done intentionally to mess up players who don’t spend a lot of money and save resources in preparation and then jump the new character up once they “find” them. Like a punishment of sorts for being excited? I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking, will this be the new trend for prize wall and contest moving forward?

It’s because we’re going on break for 2 weeks and wanted to make sure we were all available if things broke. Which they have so it’s good we moved it forward! We’re planning on having everything back to normal in the new year

Okay, thank you. I’m glad to know, that that is not the intention at all. You all have a safe time off. :slightly_smiling_face:

30 promotions as a requirement for the contest is indeed quite a lot to ask of anyone who’s already invested in Cinderella. Some won’t be able to do it at all.

Would be great if they lowered the number and make note to not release the characters before contests that reward building them.

It’s been like this for every prize hero now. Just wait a couple days after unlocking her and gain points for the contest. Or work on her before other people and miss out on those points.

I agree.
I’ve promoted her already and it’s annoying that the contest gives points to something already done.
Vacation or not, you guys should have given some warning or a heads up for that.

I learned my lesson a few prize walls ago. Never invest into the prize wall hero (don’t even unlock) until you see the contest. There’s always a contest that comes a few days after prize wall starts and (lately) it’s always require some form of investment into the prize wall hero.

Would appreciate some info when you can.

Same here. I still try to unlock the Prize Wall Heroes when their Prize Walls first begin, but I’ll always wait a few days before actually working on them to see whether or not there’s gonna be a contest that requires you to promote or level them up to earn points.
