So, one of the hero quests on Pete’s prize wall requires promoting him to yellow rank. A bit excessive, isn’t it - considering there are NINETEEN red ranks before yellow, and the prize wall is only up for so many days?

Very excessive! And for newer servers, Yellow 0 is brand new. Only a select few will finish it this time, definitely not worth 5,000 diamonds. The difference between R0 and Y0 is astronomical

That’s the way it’s been on older servers since the first prize wall with Lilo; at least y’all on the newer servers got 8 walls where you could get the 5000 diamond bonus just for getting the prize wall hero to red.
I suggested, back when the prize wall started, that the bonus be split up into, say, 600 diamonds for completing each category of hero quests, and an extra 2000 for doing all of them; that way players could still get some diamonds without having to promote the hero all the way to yellow before the prize wall ended. Somehow I doubt anything like that will happen, though.
If you do want to try for the prize anyway, and you currently have a good supply of diamonds and at least one regular double-drop backpack, today is the day to farm for badge bits while there’s a Buy More Stamina bonus ongoing.

It’s absolutely crazy that you need to level him up all the way to yellow! Absolutely insane! No wonder so many people stop playing the game when they decide to do absurd things like this. Like leveling those characters to red isn’t hard enough already.
PerBlue needs to start understanding that the people playing their game want to have a fun time.
They should make their game a way that makes people want to keep playing.
Right now it looks like they have nearly impossible missions that most of their playerbase can’t even complete.
Needing to bring a character to yellow for those extra diamonds, needing to do a nearly impossible trail for a Christmas border, not giving enough resources and throwing endless amounts of horrible deals in your face, making contest rewards worse, multiple cap rise, server merges, bugs and so on…
In the last few weeks ive seen so many people quit the game! Those were some of the highest players on the server, people that spend extreme amounts of money on the game.
If PerBlue doesn’t change the way they treat their playerbase it will continue to bleed players, eventually all servers close down one by one, everything will be merged into server 1 and if they still can’t hold their player base it would become the end of Disney Heroes.
