Just saw the announcement for the purple bit contest that starts in 4 hours. A little frustrating because I’ve already used a bunch of my Get More Staminas and was collecting purple bits today. Same thing happened with the last contest; when it started I had already done City Watch and lost a day’s opportunity to participate.

The contest was announced yesterday. It was both an alert in game, and was posted here on the forum as well as on the reddit.
We also had a day in advance notice of the last contest.

I didn’t know there was a Reddit thanks. Where is the alert in game? Through the announcement button? I check all those every day and didn’t see it for both. I guess I’ll be more careful going forward to read closely.
The calendar, the same place you go to find deals and daily events. Make sure you scroll through the entire thing, sometimes the newer ones are at the end.

the contest was announced before the starting time, yes. but sometimes there are events that caught us off guard like double stamina or double bit drops that starts out of nowhere… it will be sad if by the time it starts some people already used their staminas. please give us a head up or a waiting time between the event start time and the announcement. thanks
That just happened to me. Bonus stamina started after I’d done all my stuff for the day. Why isn’t this synced to server resets? Is there a fixed time these usually come out and I just shouldn’t play before that time?
At this point it’s more player error and impatience. The daily deals come at the same time everyday. I don’t know what server or time zone you are in, but for Server 3 it is at 10am EST everyday.
All you have to do is wait until that time before making any purchases or using resources.
The only exception to this is major updates where we get new content.
Guuys. This good for them. You use your stamina… event comes. Some of you pay for more stamina. $$$$ Thats why there is no sync between daily reset and these little offer-events… ^^ Money money money 
I agree it’s player error, would just be nice to know if there was an official time. Market resets, surge, etc list their time.
The things you’ve listed are already available, though…
- SURGE is determined by your Guild Leader by editting the Guild Settings -> Timezone. It lasts 16hrs for everyone, but when it starts/ends is in the Leader’s hands.
- If you check the last page of the EVENTS BOARD, they have a list of reset times, including: Daily Reset time (marks a “New Day”, refreshes your quests & stamina buys, etc), Market Refresh times, Arena/Coli payout times, & when they give out Free Stamina.

CONTESTS have all had 24hr announcements in-game, also found through the Events Board. Not hard to deduce the time with an available timer… For me, they usually start 7AM (PST). Or, if you’re CST, 9AM. Or, EST, 10AM.
(PerBlue - being based in Wisconsin - runs on CST)
The only things we haven’t had notices for are these RANDOM events (Market Sales, 2x Gold/Drops, Extra Stamina per Stamina Buy, etc) & the $$$ deals.
