Prize Wall = innovative yet seriously imbalanced

Prize wall is one of the most innovative aspects added to the game recently and yet PB keeps revising/revamping the prizes in ways that prove PB just doesn’t understand it’s own game. You’ve made it more difficult to get things like cosmetic crates as a prize. For no reason. Understand that you made cosmetic crates more available elsewhere but badge crates and cosmetic crates were two main reasons why prize wall is worthwhile in the first place. The other prizes aren’t very good, a few of this, a few of that. As for the hero quests, every revision makes things worse for players. You seem to think that the 5000 gem prize is some big deal, forgetting that players must spend 50,000 gems of materials to get there. That in a nutshell is what is wrong with the entire game from the weekly contest to the prize wall. Players have to spend10X (at the least)to get prizes actually worth 1/10th what they spent. Fortunately for PB most people are stupid and don’t realize how badly this game rips them off.

Worse 90% of the players in my top guild spend a ton of resources on prize wall only to end up with a character at Red 0 that they will never ever use. All their resources spent, they fall further and further behind in the game. Many are quitting as a result.

Will the last player in the game turn the lights off? Thanks

Loutre few months ago: “The badge crates got redistributed elsewhere” (most to trial events, and we haven´t heard of any since The Mayor came out :man_shrugging: )

I assume the cosmetic crates are the same. Shame, really, as the most common rewards in Prize Wall can be gotten just about anywhere now. It indeed used to be a better feature reduced to a non-mattering one.

Thats is pretty much the game now
Release something exciting and then just as people get to enjoy it hide it behind payealls

Red skills
Megabits - which still hasnt scaled AT ALL from the Megabit Virus
Prize wall
And next will be Patched heroes

Red skills are easily obtainable without spending money, they are in a good spot (at least on the lower servers). They do require usage of campaign resets and double drops but that adds depth and learning which is great.

I agree on Megabits - total hoax.

Somewhat agree on Prize wall - some rewards don’t feel exciting, most of the time I just blindly click through it without any thrill just to get the hero chips. Some rewards are nice like the badge crates and disk power.

Lets hope Patched heroes will be exciting and entertaining!

Totally not. Still hard, and getting worse every 4 weeks.
Over 4k hero chips and 23k skill chips is way too much.
And the longer pb waits, the more meaningless are the latest changes.

About prize wall, it was good when was new, now even hero chips feel underwhelming, it’s nowhere near enough to max a hero, even after reaching stage 100! And skill chips… it was requested like 100000 times to increase them and what PB did? Nothing! They never care…
From other rewards only disk power and badge crates are good, gold (or more its amount) feels very unnecessary which could be replaced for something more useful.

Megabits were always bad, and no sign of changes…

And pb wonders why players think that game is dying… duh, pb makes 0 attempts to make game better, new patch notes are getting smaller and waiting for bug fixes takes longer. Mirrorverse and DSA are worse P2W-wise, but it’s reeeeeeeeeeeeeally low bar, no medal for PB.
I would like DHBM to last long as a game… but nothing happened to make that, such a shame.

2 years later yes
But when they were released they were impossible to get

Red Skills released = Invasion Rewards improved to yield more Disk and Mod stuff (R8)
Megabits released = City Watch (Epic) improved to yield more Red Skill Chips (Y12/Y13)
Patched Heroes (Talents) released = Codebase Trial improved to yield more Megabits (expected in roughly a year after Patched Heroes are released)

It´s called a business tactics of swapping the moneymaker. Meaning buying megabits doesn´t give as much money as the higherups want for some time.

Well, I do keep track of my game completion progress - it helps me determine where things lack! So lets check it. Sorry for the long post, a cookie for every person that reads the whole thing without skipping 90% of it.

The good part: red skills

In the past 6 months the number of my maxed out red skills heroes grew by 25. We had about 8 heroes released during that period, so from a how-many-heroes-you-can-maintain perspective it is in a great spot. I understand that it gets slower the more heroes you try to maintain and the higher the level cap goes, but it currently allows to maintain much more heroes than are viable in any given point in time.

Lets not forget the changes PB made on that front. We now have a steady source of elite double drops that we can use during 80% stamina buys, and now we get red skill chips from the elite campaign - these 2 changes were a massive improvement from PB putting the red skills in tip-top shape. Before that I was struggling.

F2P players still need to wait for new heroes to reach the elite campaign to be able to max their red skills. I think that is a fair trade as PB does not keep more than several heroes exclusive.

The bad part: Battle badges / Disk levels

Battle Badges - to this day I have not maxed out even 1. This is just a non-existent mechanic for the majority of the community. At best you have a handful of useful empowers and that’s it. This mechanic deserves an overhaul - it has a lot of interfaces built around it to just let it rot like this.

Disks levels - I have only 15 disks maxed out and I’m already struggling to maintain them. In the past 6 months I managed to get only 4 new disks maxed out.

It is worth noting that PB significantly increased the disk power gains, but even with that I expect to hit a plateau around 20-25 maxed out disks and not be able to max out any more. I do spend money but its never on disk power, so this is from a F2P (disk power wise) player’s point of view.

In DH there are 3 power tiers of players:
Tier 1: F2P regulars
Tier 2: F2P veterans / P2W regulars
Tier 3: P2W veterans

The existence of that Tier 2, where the best F2P players can rival P2W players is what makes DisneyHeroes stand out from the rest of the garbage on the market.

Maintaining 20 disks maxed out just by logging in every day is fine! I would even say its too much and should be reduced. Any additional F2P disk power should not be that straight-forward to obtain. What we need are items/ways for experienced players to significantly multiply their disk power gains if played right (made in a way where you need to put 2+2 together), so that they can afford to maintain much more disks, to make them a bit more even to people that buy disk power. Something similar to how combining different items in the right way can make you upgrade & maintain much more heroes than a person that just wastes them. We don’t have anything like that for disk power, and I think we should have something like that for all resources to keep that Tier2 hype. It will make the game better! @Loutre @Nugget (suggestion for improvement)

The existence of such ways to get ahead of the rest with thinking and planning is what makes DH the fantastic game that it is. A game where the experience and knowledge of veterans outweighs throwing money with no direction

Well I disagree with you on Disk Power. When PB gives Halloween deal 2x value of update deal and letting P2P/P2W players max 8 disks right away… then they should give far more disk power per month.

Update deal is $50 with 17.5-20M. Best an F2P can do is 3M. That’s barely worth above $8.

Personally, 2.5x as much should be given freely. $20 worth of everything t o F2P players., then the comparative advantage of “whales” decreases.

(And to note I am a mild, but slightly bigger P2P player.)

You aren’t disagreeing with me  We are on the same page, I edited my post a little to remove confusion. I just think the extra F2P disk power should not be granted for free just for logging in but rather require thinking to obtain to encourage people to become veterans.

Ah true maybe something like a Weekly Quest but for a month. And if you earn X points, say 500 you get some sweet rewards like possibly 10M Disk Power, 2B Gold etc.

I was thinking more of the sort of adding usable/buyable items that have to be combined to unlock their potential.

E.g adding city watch resets to the mega mart then add a monthly/war item that gives double disk power from city watch. Or adding a rare item that adds small amount of disk power to the elite campaign. Then you can boost it further with double elite drops and elite resets.

Rare items aren’t really PerBlue’s way.
