Hello, I’m a bit confused with arena battles. I always check my opponent’s team thoroughly before attacking(skill levels, items, power, etc) but lately I’ve been unable to beat teams with weaker characters than my own. We’re practically using the same team except every one of mine has higher powers, higher skill levels more enhanced items and yet I lose every time I attack. My team is around 1k higher than theirs. Just don’t know how to beat choose which opponent to target. Been unable to make any advancements in arena at all. Just wondering if there’s any advice as I’m still relatively new to the game. (Started last week, currently Level 39)
The thing is, if your opponent gets his butt kicked it means he gets extra energy. He has energy, he uses his white skill and makes a strong comeback.
This game sucks at that aspect, opponents weaker in every single way can beat your team BECAUSE they are weaker and have faster energy recharge as a result.
You gotta beat 'em with smarts, not raw power. Composition is key.
Ok. It’s tough because it’s all on auto. Wish I had more control of the attacks. Are there any ways to choose attacks with more strategy or is it it pretty much up to luck?
Best solution for this problem is control heroes (or with).
Maleficent (best)
Tia
Olaf
Elsa
Ursula
Ralph
Finnick
Heroes have counters. Part of the learning curve is finding them out. For example, Olaf beats Jack Sparrow:
- Jack is susceptible to freeze status.
- Jack has a lower cooldown on his dodge than Olaf, which means that when he makes a counterattack, it’s exactly time for Olaf to make a dodge which completely negates the massive damage. And then he freezes the front line.
Other simple example - Maleficent.
- Maleficent is always the furthest in composition.
- Can be exploited by Woody (ESPECIALLY with Jessie friendship disk), who always targets the furthest enemy with his Lasso.
- Can be exploited by Tia Dalma, who always charms the furthest enemy. Additionally, it usually hits Maleficent when she’s about to Doom Fog your team, successfully interrupting the process.
All is true but some servers don’t have that big heroes pool so there are less counters to the “OP” characters and Arena can be weird also. For example i’ve entered Bronze 1 5-6 days ago, was close to gain promotion and today i can barely beat anyone from top 40 in the same Arena even tough i’m progressing reaaally fast for f2p. So i think, patience is key, on top of learning how game works in depth.
