they serve completely different purposes in battle, so it’s impossible to directly compare.
If you’re deciding on one or the other - you will find yourself wishing you had Tron much more than you would Ariel.

There are different kinds of support.
I mainly use Tron when I’m up against Drakken or Ian, or to try and strike Zeus before he can strike. (Of course, you’ll need a fully upgraded Kevin disc, in order to have the energy to do so.)
Ariel, in my experience, is better suited for healing and keeping enemies at bay - the same way Bolt and Bagheera do.
Ariel, she’s a healer who can keep the team going at full health.
Tron is more a debuffer, not a healer, so he can’t really be compared to Ariel.
I prefer Ariel over Tron, I rarely use him, but Ariel is always on my main team.

Speaking as who is better in 1v1 id say ariel but it generally matters on the team
