Ranking all the game’s characters from worst to best by enjoyment of the character

Hey there! I decided to undertake a big project and try to rank every character who is currently in the game/officially confirmed at the time that I made this (which at this moment, Pegasus is the newest character officially confirmed). I’m not ranking them based on how good they are in the game, but on my personal enjoyment of the character. Most of the characters here I’m very familiar with, but a few characters, mostly characters from T.V. shows, I don’t know too well, and tried to judge them based off what I know of them. For characters composed of more than one character (ex: Sulley and Boo, Gerald/Marlin/Nemo, etc.), I rank them based on the character I like the most in that duo/trio. Feel free to agree or disagree on anything I said or discuss anything about this you want, just as long you’re polite about it. Anyway, here’s my ranking of the characters, going from worst to best; with a short description as to why they’re there. Due to the size of my post, I had to split it into thirds, with this post covering the bottom half, the next post covering most of the upper half, and the third post covering the top ten.

208-201

208 - Sisu

I do like most of the characters in this game, but these characters on the bottom aren’t ones I enjoy at all. While I thought Raya as a movie was fine, albeit nothing great, definitely the worst thing about it is Sisu. I think her design is unappealing, and she’s just so annoying and tries way too hard to be funny and fails miserably. It doesn’t help that I’m not the biggest fan of Awkwafina in general. If someone liked the character (or any of these characters I dislike), I’m not going to argue against it and I respect your opinion, but she does nothing for me and I just find her so annoying.

207 - Olaf

You can pretty much take everything I said about Sisu and apply it here as well. I would say Olaf isn’t quite as annoying as Sisu, but his overexposure also doesn’t do him any favors and I still don’t enjoy him at all. It doesn’t help that I don’t like Frozen that much either.

206 - Meilin Lee

I really didn’t like Turning Red, and a lot of that is because I just found the two main characters (Meilin and her mom) to be annoying and obnoxious the whole movie rather than charming and enjoyable, and at the end of the day, it’s a Disney movie about the main character and their overprotective parent having to understand each other more, which we’ve seen before and done much better.

205 - Ducky and Bunny

Unfunny and forced in comic relief characters who didn’t make me laugh at all and took a lot of screen time away from better characters like the rest of the toys from the previous movies, who, outside of Woody, Bo Peep, and debatably Buzz, are given nothing to do here.

204 - Bellwether

I love the Disney villains a lot, and many of them are high on this list, but Bellwether is easily one of the most boring and forgettable Disney villains there are, and a great example of why a lot of Disney’s plot twist villains don’t work. I think you see her on-screen as the villain for about 3 minutes, and this is when there is less than 10 minutes remaining in the movie, and she does nothing memorable or interesting outside of the way she’s defeated being the same way Mr. Waternoose was defeated in Monsters Inc., and done much better there.

203 - Sarah Sanderson

While I do like, albeit don’t love, Hocus Pocus, it is pretty much just for Winifred, as I find Mary and Sarah to be mostly annoying since most of the humor with them is just them being complete idiots in a way that’s more annoying than funny or charming. Of the two, I feel like Sarah is probably the bigger offender, as I feel like she seems especially stupid.

202 - Mary Sanderson

Big shock that she’s next considering what I just said. I wouldn’t say Mary is quite as bad as Sarah, but she’s still too stupid in an annoying way for my tastes.

201 - Duke Kaboom

While he’s far less annoying than Ducky and Bunny, I still don’t find anything Duke does to be funny or entertaining, and he’s ultimately only there for comic relief, and doesn’t do that right either. He’s also a character I often forget is in this game, and I don’t think he was particularly memorable in the movie either.

200-191

200 - Snow White

Of the classic old-school Disney characters, one I’ve never really liked much is Snow White. She’s just kind of bland and I feel seems too “cutesy” in a way that isn’t endearing, and the way she acts and her voice makes her come across a lot younger than she was intended to be, which is especially noticeable when you compare her to someone like Alice or Wendy, who sound older and act more mature than her despite being younger than her.

199 - Peter Pan

Another classic Disney character I don’t really like. I just don’t really find Peter (or Tinker Bell for that matter) to be very likable or enjoyable, considering he intentionally starts the conflict between him and Captain Hook, and mostly acts like a jerk to Wendy. While I get both of them are supposed to come around in the end and learn their lesson, I just don’t really get into it and find anything they do to be charming or enjoyable.

198 - Fred

Like a lot of these lower-placed characters, Fred is another character I find just tries way too hard to be funny and ultimately ends up being more annoying than entertaining.

197 - Clawhauser

While I don’t think Clawhauser is necessarily annoying per se, I still think he’s yet another comic relief character who just isn’t very funny at all or really does anything to justify his existence. There’s plenty of comic relief characters I enjoy, so don’t think they’re all down here, but these ones really don’t do a thing for me.

196 - Chip and Dale

I remember liking Chip and Dale fine enough when I was a kid, but as an adult, their appeal has lessened for me. Sometimes, I find their voices to be annoying, and most of the old cartoons featuring them are just them harassing and bullying Donald for little to no reason. I know sometimes Donald can be mean, but we still like him, and I feel like Chip and Dale harass him (and pretty much always win) regardless if Donald has done anything wrong or not.

195 - Huey, Dewey, and Louie

Pretty much the same thing to say here as the previous pair of characters who constantly bully and harass Donald. I mostly put them higher because they are tolerable in something like DuckTales (though I haven’t seen much of it), and their voices aren’t obnoxious to listen to like Chip and Dale’s can be sometimes.

194 - Voyd

How many of you actually remember this character or anything she does? I guess unlike most of the characters before her, she isn’t annoying, but she’s so bland and forgettable than putting her any higher would be tough.

193 - Yax

Isn’t Yax only in like, one scene, and really doesn’t play any notable role? Once again, he’s not a character who’s doing anything to bother me, and I would say he’s slightly more memorable than Voyd, but he’s still pretty forgettable and not very special.

192 - Elsa

Controversial opinion time: In my opinion, Elsa is Disney’s most overrated character, and outside of singing Let it Go, which is a good song, but definitely not a favorite of mine, I can’t think of anything else she does that’s special, and this combined with her overexposure in pretty much every Disney-related nowadays really makes her not do much for me.

191 - Vanellope

While I do really like Wreck-It Ralph and the friendship between Ralph and Vanellope, the latter is pretty much just for how great of a character Ralph is, as I mostly just find Vanellope to be annoying and yet another character who tries way too hard to be funny and ultimately, I just don’t find them funny.

190-181

190 - Ron Stoppable

I haven’t seen much of Kim Possible since I was a kid, and I remember it being something I liked and would consider a good show, but never personally got into too much. Off of memory, I feel like I remember finding Ron to be kind of annoying.

189 - Shank

I really don’t like Ralph Breaks the Internet much, and while, unlike most of these characters so far, I don’t think Shank is annoying or doing anything to bother me, she doesn’t do anything to really endear me to her, and she’s one of the more unremarkable and forgettable characters on here.

188 - Luca and Alberto

I didn’t really like Luca too much and found it kind of dull, and ultimately, I think these characters and their role suffer from feeling too similar to other better movies like The Little Mermaid or Finding Nemo, with the main character wanting to go exploring beyond their world, their parent doesn’t want them to, and the two parties come around to an agreement by the end.

Not offensive characters, but ones I feel are very standard and didn’t do much to appeal to me.

187 - Tron

Outside of some neat effects for the time, I don’t really care for the original Tron movie that much and found it kind of dull, and Tron as a character just has so little personality to him and doesn’t do anything to appeal me to him.

186 - Bolt

Much like Luca and Tron, Bolt is a movie I don’t think is bad, but I just find it kind of boring, and the same thing applies to Bolt as a character. I can understand why someone would like him or the movie, but it just doesn’t hold my attention that much.

185 - Mr. Big and Koslov

Outside of the Godfather parody going on, which makes him a little more memorable than someone like Yax, Mr. Big just isn’t very memorable or remarkable, and isn’t doing much to make me place him much higher than this.

184 - Angel

I do remember watching and liking the Lilo and Stitch show when I was a kid, and I do remember Angel, but I just don’t think she really has much going for her and is just kind of there, but is harmless and inoffensive.

183 - Tia Dalma

I like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but Tia Dalma is just kind of there and doesn’t do that much to stand out, being yet another one of the more unremarkable characters.

182 - Gizmoduck

I’ll admit that I haven’t seen much of DuckTales or Darkwing Duck, since both of them were before my time, though I’ll acknowledge from the little I have seen that they are good shows. I just don’t really have any opinion on Gizmoduck as a result, and while I can definitely understand why someone would put him higher than this, I just don’t see many people considering him in the upper echelon of characters here.

181 - Mad Hatter

While I do like Alice in Wonderland and I certainly don’t think the Mad Hatter is a bad character or even necessarily annoying, I just don’t really find him to be particularly entertaining and I feel like his part of the movie kind of drags.

180-171

180 - Honey Lemon

While I definitely enjoy Big Hero 6 a fair bit, I’ll admit that the team members outside of Baymax and Hiro don’t stand out too much, and Honey Lemon is probably the one who stands out the least. She’s not doing anything to make me dislike her, but she’s just kind of there.

179 - Go Go

You can take what I said about Honey Lemon and apply it to Go Go as well. I’d put Go Go a spot higher since her personality is more memorable, but she’s still just kind of there.

178 - Helga

I like Atlantis a fair bit, and Helga’s not a character I dislike, but as far as Disney henchmen go, while she and the main villain, Rourke, certainly pose a threat, they’re just not particularly memorable or special, especially when compared to most of the villains who preceded them, and it is one of the earlier uses of the plot twist villain cliché, and not done terribly, but not done as strongly as someone like Stinky Pete or Mr. Waternoose from around the same time.

177 - 22

I liked Soul a lot, and while 22 does get better as the movie goes on, she reminds me a lot of and acts a lot like Vanellope earlier on in the movie, which doesn’t help her too much.

176 - Jack Jack

Jack Jack’s a baby; what is there that’s particularly exciting to say about a baby? I guess his powers are neat, but being a baby limits what he can do as a character.

175 - Gadget

Rescue Rangers is another one of those shows I haven’t seen too much of since it came before my time, and from what I’ve seen, Gadget seems enjoyable enough but with how little I know about her, I’d struggle to put her much higher than this.

174 - Maximus

In general, characters who don’t talk have a harder time being interesting or standing out than those who do, and while Maximus certainly has a personality and is fun enough, he’s still just a horse and not much else, and would most of you really say you come to Tangled specifically for Maximus? Probably not. Honestly, when I think of Maximus, the first thing that comes to mind is how overpowered and everywhere he was the first year he was in the game.

173 - Prince Phillip

I like Sleeping Beauty, but it’s mostly for its atmosphere, the three fairies, and Maleficent, more than it is for Phillip and Aurora. Phillip’s fine, I guess, but really, until Beast and Aladdin came around, princes in Disney princess movies were mostly just kind of bland and kept to the side.

172 - Aurora

And take what I said about Phillip and apply it to Aurora. She’s fine, I guess, but do you know that many people who say she’s their favorite Disney princess when compared to other ones? She’s mostly just kind of there.

171 - Raya

Raya’s fine, I guess. She’s component enough, but nothing too exciting and there’s not much to discuss with her.

170-161

170 - Finnick

Finnick’s kind of fun with how much his voice and personality contrasts his appearance, but like a lot of the Zootopia characters in this game, he really doesn’t do much in the movie and not enough to justify being too much higher than this.

169 - Sadness

I do think Inside Out’s a pretty good movie, but I feel it’s more for its creativity and drama than its characters. The characters in the movie are competent, but there’s no one I feel stands out as an exceptional character. Of the five emotions, I’d say Sadness’s main gimmick is probably the least entertaining, but her role in the story is competent enough.

168 - Gonzo

I enjoy Muppets fine enough, but I’m not in love with it, and of the many (if anything, too many) we have, Gonzo is probably the one who stands out the least. He’s fine, but nothing too special.

167 - Joy

My thoughts on Joy are (surprise, surprise) very similar to my thoughts on Sadness. I think her role in the story of learning that being happy all the time isn’t healthy is good, but outside of that, she’s fine, but nothing too special.

166 - Quackerjack

Once again, I haven’t seen much of Darkwing Duck, but I imagine Quackerjack would probably be a fun villain, though I find it unlikely of the three villains they have in this game, I would say he’s my favorite of them.

165 - Kristoff

Kristoff’s fine and isn’t doing anything to make me dislike him, but is mostly held back by the fact that I’m not that much of a fan of the movie he’s from.

164 - Anna

Apply what I said about Kristoff to her, and they’re both pretty interchangeable.

163 - Abu

Aladdin is one of my two favorite Disney movies along with Beauty and the Beast, but let’s be honest, how many of you specifically come to Aladdin for Abu? I mean, he’s fine, but would you put him in the same league as someone like Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Iago, or especially Genie? Probably not.

162 - Pegasus

Pegasus has a more interesting design than Abu, but besides that, it’s pretty much the same thing with him. He’s fine, I guess, but I highly doubt you come to Hercules specifically for him.

161 - Sally

I like Nightmare Before Christmas but not as much as most people do, and I don’t know, but I’ve always viewed Sally as a character who’s just kind of there and not one of the more interesting aspects of the movie.

160-151

160 - Animal

Charming, fun character, but not much else to really put him ahead of others here unless you’re a huge Muppets fan.

159 - Miss Piggy

Take what I said about Animal and apply it here.

158 - Tigger

Winnie the Pooh is one of the few Disney franchises that I liked more when I was a kid than I do as an adult, and while I do think it is charming and nostalgic, out of all the main Disney properties, it’s the one that to me feels the least like a family movie (a movie made for kids and adults to enjoy) and most like a kids movie (a movie made just for kids to enjoy), which loses it some appeal for me now. Tigger is voiced by some good actors and is memorable, but there are some moments where he can be a bit much and I like other Winnie the Pooh characters more.

157 - Chief Bogo

I guess he does more than most of the Zootopia characters so far, and he’s fine, I guess, but there’s nothing too special to note with him.

156 - Flash

Flash’s scene is funny, and I love the ending joke with him speeding in a car, but he’s still a pretty minor character not doing much to justify being much higher, albeit he’s a fun character.

155 - Underminer

John Ratzenberger’s hammy performance is fun, but his minimal screen-time keeps him from being much higher. At least he was a better villain than the main one in Incredibles 2…

154 - Kim Possible

Once again, I haven’t seen much of Kim Possible since I was a kid, and it’s something I consider good, but never really got into too much. I think Kim fits the role she’s in fine, but I don’t have enough of a connection to her to put her higher.

153 - Duff Killigan

Take what I said about Kim and apply it here, with him mostly just being a spot higher since I tend to gravitate towards villains.

152 - Monkey Fist

Take what I said about Duff and apply it here, with him mostly just being a spot higher because I remember him more than Duff.

151 - Fear

Fear’s a fun enough character, but I feel like Anger and Disgust are more entertaining and like I said, the strength of Inside Out for me isn’t necessarily its characters.

150-141

150 - Lock, Shock, and Barrel

These three sing a fun song and they’re fine, but nothing too noteworthy.

149 - Launchpad McQuack

Launchpad fits the role he’s in as a goofy sidekick well, but I don’t have enough of a connection to him to put him higher.

148 - Jake Long

Similar to Kim Possible, I remember this show from when I was a kid, but don’t remember it too much outside of thinking it was good, but it wasn’t something I personally got into. It’s neat that he’s in the game and I feel he’s unexpected, but I just don’t have much of a connection to him to warrant being higher.

147 - Kermit

Kermit’s iconic and obviously very memorable, but I feel there’s other Muppets I gravitate towards more.

146 - Fozzie

Take what I said about Kermit and apply it here.

145 - Megavolt

You can take what I said about Quackerjack and apply it here, but I probably put Megavolt higher mostly for the voice actor being one I like (Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, who also usually voices Genie when Robin Williams didn’t).

144 - Dash

Dash is fine, but there’s plenty of characters in his movie I like more.

143 - Pocahontas

Pocahontas sings some great songs, but outside of that, she’s a little on the bland side. Still, those songs are very good.

142 - Pleakley

Pleakley’s fine and has some entertaining moments, but sometimes, he can be a bit much, and I definitely think Jumba is a lot funnier than him.

141 - Tiana

I know a lot of people really like Tiana and would probably put her a lot higher, but since Princess and the Frog is a movie I think is just alright, she doesn’t click with me too much, but she’s serviceable enough.

140-131

140 - Miguel

Once again, I don’t like Coco as much as most people do, but I acknowledge it’s good, and Miguel is alright, but probably won’t do too much for you if you aren’t a huge fan of the movie.

139 - Wasabi

Wasabi’s definitely my favorite of the four main supporting characters in Big Hero 6 and gets some funny lines here and there, but isn’t the most remarkable character in the grand scheme of things.

138 - Rocketeer

I never saw the Rocketeer until a few months after he was added to the game, so it’s not something I have any nostalgia towards, but I liked it well enough, though I don’t think it’s especially memorable. The Rocketeer as a character fits his role well enough, but I probably wouldn’t put him much higher than this.

137 - Disgust

Disgust is a fun enough supporting character, but there’s plenty of characters I like more than her.

136 - Swedish Chef

The Swedish Chef is fun, but I probably wouldn’t put him much higher than this. In general, characters who have short descriptions like this usually aren’t ones I have especially strong feelings on or are that interesting to talk about.

135 - Bunsen and Beaker

Similar to the Swedish Chef enjoyment-wise but probably slightly more entertaining.

134 - Magica De Spell

I don’t know Magica too well to truly judge her, but I think she seems like a fun villain and I like the voice actress for her (June Foray, who voiced many classic animated characters like Granny and Witch Hazel from Looney Tunes, Cindy Lou-Who from the original Grinch cartoon, and so on).

133 - Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh is a charming, nostalgic character who is difficult to dislike, but there’s characters from his series I like more such as Eeyore and Rabbit, and I don’t like him as much now as I did as a kid, similar to what I said in my ranking for Tigger.

132 - Barley Lightfoot

I think Onward was a fun Disney movie but not one of the all-time greats, and I feel that way about the characters too. Chris Pratt’s voicing him reminds me of other things he’s in like Guardians of the Galaxy and the new Mario movie first, but the movie and characters and enjoyable enough.

131 - Ian Lightfoot

Take what I said about his brother and apply it here, just with Tom Holland reminding me of the MCU’s Spider-Man instead.

130-121

130 - Manticore

The Manticore has a cool design and I feel like she was funnier than Ian or Barley, but she’s still pretty close to them overall.

129 - Russell and Kevin

Russell works well as a foil to Carl and as a tool to serve his character development, but I probably wouldn’t put him too much higher than here.

128 - Moana

Moana is a good protagonist and sings some good songs, but I feel Maui overshadows her and some elements of her feel derivative of other characters.

127 - Bo Peep

Bo Peep is a good character, but not one of the better Toy Story characters, and I think having Jessie replace her in the second film as the main female character in the series was a good decision.

126 - Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat is a fun character with his trolling nature, but as far as mischievous characters voiced by Sterling Holloway go, I prefer Kaa over him.

125 - Colette

Colette is a good character, but there’s not really much to say about her.

124 - Mayor

I think the Mayor’s gimmick is fun and memorable with his face changing depending on his mood, and while he may not be too important of a character, I think he’s fun and enjoyable.

123 - Fairy Godmother

While she may not necessarily have the most screen-time, I think the Fairy Godmother is a memorable character, and it helps that she gets the best song in her movie.

122 - Shego

From what I remember about Kim Possible, I think Drakken and Shego were my favorite part of the show, and I think the two make for a fun pair of villains, but since I don’t have as much experience with them, I’d struggle to put them too much higher.

121 - Dr. Drakken

Take what I said about Shego and apply it here.

120-111

120 - Darkwing Duck

From what I’ve seen of the show, I think Darkwing Duck makes for a fun protagonist, and being voiced by Jim Cummings (who voices a bunch of other Disney characters, including one who is in the top ten on here) helps him a lot.

119 - Perry the Platypus

Perry is a memorable character, though granted, it’s more because of his relationship with Dr. Doofenshmirtz, who would be a lot higher on here if he was in the game, than necessarily being the most interesting character. Still, a pet platypus as a secret agent is a fun concept, even if Doofenshmirtz definitely outshines him.

118 - Negaduck

Take what I said about Darkwing Duck and apply it here (even sharing the same voice actor), but getting a slight boost ahead due to being the villain and my gravitation towards them.

117 - Merida

While not one of my favorite Disney princesses, I think Merida is an interesting addition to the roster, being the only Pixar princess and being one of the few princess movies to focus on a mother-daughter relationship, which tend to be rare in Disney movies, as usually the mom is dead and the dad is the focus parent, especially in other princess movies.

116 - Powerline

I get that Powerline’s not really much of a character and is only in one scene, but as a big fan of A Goofy Movie, and it being the best scene in the movie, as Eye to Eye is such a banger, I think it helps make him memorable, though if someone put him lower, I can understand.

115 - Statler and Waldorf

Of all the Muppets here, I think they’re probably the funniest, and their gimmick of heckling everyone is fun.

114 - Zeus

Zeus is an enjoyable character with nothing to dislike but I feel doesn’t get enough focus to warrant being too much higher.

113 - Audrey

Audrey is a fun side character, but there are other side characters in Atlantis I prefer over her.

112 - Dr. Facilier

I know a lot of people will probably put him a lot higher, and I do like Dr. Facilier, but since I’m not in love with Princess and the Frog and a lot of what he does I can find with other better villains like Ursula or Hades does hold him back from being in the upper echelon of Disney villains for me.

111 - Quorra

While I don’t think it’s a masterpiece, I definitely enjoyed Tron: Legacy quite a bit more than the original Tron, and I think its main trio of Kevin, Sam, and Quorra are enjoyable and interesting characters. Quorra would probably be my least favorite of the three but I enjoy her and think she has a neat design.

110-101

110 - Kevin Flynn

He’s here for similar reasons for Quorra, but being a character who was already in the original as well as the movie dealing with he and his son trying to reconnect with each other makes him a little more interesting.

109 - Daisy Duck

I’ll always have a soft spot for the core Mickey Mouse gang (Sensational Six + Pete), and while Daisy would be my second least favorite of them behind Pluto, largely because she doesn’t get as much focus as the others, I think she’s an enjoyable character, and her relationships with Donald and Minnie cam be fun, particularly in House of Mouse.

108 - Hercules

Hercules is an enjoyable and likable character, but I definitely think other characters in his movie like Hades and Meg overshadow him and are quite a bit better.

107 - Felix

Felix is an enjoyable character and I really like his relationship with Calhoun and the fact that he’s the only one in their game who is consistently nice to Ralph, and I don’t have any complaints with him; I just prefer others ahead more.

106 - Simba and Nala

Since The Lion King is a lot of people’s favorite Disney movie, I’m assuming these two would probably be higher for most. I do really like the movie, but my like for it is more for other elements like the scope and scale of it, the songs, Scar, etc., than necessarily Simba and Nala. I think they’re perfectly enjoyable characters, though I like them as adults more than them as kids, but I definitely like other characters in the movie more.

105 - Anger

Anger’s definitely my favorite and the most entertaining character from Inside Out, but I wouldn’t put him much higher than here. Still, a middle of the pack placement isn’t too bad.

104 - Shang

While I wouldn’t say there’s too much to Shang and the romance between him and Mulan isn’t as strong as it could have been, I don’t have too many issues with him otherwise, and I definitely think one big thing that helps is that he gets to sing one of the all-time great Disney songs.

103 - Goliath

I believe Gargoyles is the last thing on here I don’t have much of a connection with. I started watching it for the first time a year ago on Disney+, and while I only saw a few episodes, I did really like what I saw, and I imagine my appreciation for it and its characters would grow the more I see of it.

102 - Demona

You can apply the same thing to her as Goliath but she gets a slightly higher spot due to my gravitation towards villains.

101 - Sweetums

I get why people weren’t happy with Sweetums being added and I agree there’s too many Muppets, but he’s a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. There’s just something about him I find really endearing and surprisingly cute in a way I can’t explain as I’m sure he wasn’t intended to be cute (I feel this exact same way about Petey Piranha from Mario), but I have a soft spot for him.

100-91

100 - Minnie Mouse

Minnie is memorable and iconic, but compared to Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, she doesn’t have as many stand-out appearances since she’s rarely the main focus in the things she appears in, but still, I can’t be too hard on the classic core Disney characters, as they’re very charming and enjoyable.

99 - Madam Mim

Madam Mim is a fun and entertaining villain, and she gets easily the best scene in the movie with her Merlin fighting in the wizard’s duel, but she isn’t one of the better classic Disney villains and her lack of relevance to the film due to its very lightweight plot makes her feel a little disconnected.

98 - Violet

As a person who is socially awkward and remembers having a hard time trying to fit in with my peers during high school, I find Violet to be a very relatable character for introverted people, and I like her character arc of becoming less socially awkward.

97 - Nick

For me, Zootopia is a pretty good movie, but if I were ranking the Disney animated canon, it would be middle of the pack, which for its standards, is still pretty good, and I think its two main characters fit the perfect definition of solid middle of the pack characters.

96 - Judy

Take what I said about Nick and apply it here.

95 - Jack Sparrow

Jack Sparrow is a perfectly enjoyable character, but does suffer a little bit of what I call “Depp-isms”, where I think sometimes Johnny Depp’s over the top performance can be a bit much, but it never becomes annoying per se, and something would feel off if you take him out of the movie.

94 - Mushu

You can pretty much apply the same thing I said about Jack Sparrow to Mushu, just with “Depp-isms” now being “Murphy-isms”, and as far as animated Eddie Murphy characters go, I prefer Donkey from Shrek over him.

93 - Scrooge McDuck

When I think of Scrooge McDuck performances, the first thing that comes to mind is Mickey’s Christmas Carol, which I think is a top-tier Disney short and Christmas special in general, and a lot of it is because of Scrooge’s performance and overall character arc. Since I haven’t seen too much of DuckTales, I don’t want to put him too much higher, but I think he’s a memorable and enjoyable character.

92 - Namaari

Namaari is probably the best Disney villain since Mother Gothel (which granted, isn’t saying much since most of the villains past her aren’t very good), and I think works as being different than normal by being an anti-villain who ultimately redeems herself in the end, which Disney doesn’t do too often, though there is another anti-villain along that lines in this game who is a lot higher on the list.

91 - Kida

I think Kida’s an interesting character who doesn’t really act much like other princesses in Disney movies, and I like her dynamic with Milo, but I just personally like the people ahead of her more.

90-81

90 - Milo

Similar to Kida, I like Milo and think he’s an enjoyable protagonist with a great voice actor (Michael J. Fox), but I prefer those ahead of him more.

89 - EVE

EVE is a pretty good character and WALL-E is a great movie, but a lot of what you would say with her also applies to WALL-E and to a greater degree there, so I don’t think she stands out quite as much as him or the movie’s overall message.

88 - Winifred Sanderson

While I may not like her sisters very much, Winifred is a fun villain and easily the best part of her movie, being genuinely funny while being threatening and without being a complete idiot like her sisters act like.

87 - Linguini and Remy

This spot is more for Remy than Linguini, who is alright, but definitely would have been a bit lower, but Remy is an enjoyable protagonist and you do want to see him succeed in becoming a chef by the end.

86 - Mickey Mouse

And here is where Disney’s mascot and most iconic character places. I know sometimes he gets criticism from those who find him bland, and I’m not going to act like I can’t understand their viewpoint, and I definitely prefer Donald, Goofy, and Pete over him, but he’s still a charming, classic character and has been the catalyst for many excellent shorts like The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Mickey and the Beanstalk, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and so on.

85 - Cinderella

Of the three Walt-era princesses, Cinderella is easily the best out of her, Snow White, and Aurora, and I think she makes for a likable and compelling protagonist that you really want to see get away from her abusive stepfamily and earn a happy ending.

84 - Eeyore

As a kid, Eeyore was my favorite Winnie the Pooh character, and as an adult, while it’s close between him and Rabbit for me, I still think Eeyore is a very charming and endearing character and it’s always sweet to see him in the moments where he is genuinely happy.

83 - Stitch

Stitch is a good character and I like his character arc, but overexposure does hurt him a bit for me and I find him a little overrated. I also think there’s similar characters who start out with less than desirable personality traits who outgrow them to become a better person like Beast or Kuzco that I enjoy a lot more, but I still do like the character.

82 - Calhoun

Calhoun is a fun side character and I think her relationship with Felix in their contrasting personalities is a lot of fun, but I wouldn’t put her too much higher than here.

81 - Evil Queen

As far as the first villain in a Disney movie, the Evil Queen was a good starter and is an enjoyable villain, especially when she’s in her witch disguise, but I definitely think there’s a lot of villains who take what she does and do it better like Maleficent or Ursula, which isn’t necessarily her fault since she was the first Disney villain when Pete or villains from shorts aren’t counted, but makes her a little more dated.

80-71

80 - King Triton

I feel like King Triton has a bit more depth to him than most Disney parents, and I do like his character arc of outgrowing his hatred towards humans and being less overprotective of his daughter, but I probably wouldn’t put him too much higher than here.

79 - Ariel

Ariel was the best Disney princess up to when she was made, and I like her journey of trying to become human and reconcile with her dad due to their initially different viewpoints on humans, but I definitely prefer later princesses like Belle or Jasmine over her.

78 - Slinky

I love the first three Toy Story movies a lot, and of the major characters present, Slinky is probably one of the lesser ones since he has a more restrained and laid-back personality, but he’s still very charming and enjoyable and don’t have anything to complain about with him.

77 - Rex

Rex is a fun character with his nervous personality and I really like his obsession with the Buzz Lightyear video game in Toy Story 2.

76 - Jessie

Much like the previous two Toy Story characters, Jessie is a fun, charming character, and she stands out for having one of the saddest scenes in Disney history with her backstory of being abandoned by her original owner.

75 - Shan Yu

While not in the upper echelon of Disney villains or necessarily the most fun villain, Shan Yu is still a very enjoyable villain with how much of a threat he is, and he is pretty cool.

74 - Rapunzel

Rapunzel is in the higher tier of Disney princesses for me, and I think she’s an enjoyable character who sings good songs and has a fun dynamic with Flynn Rider.

73 - Hiro

Hiro is a likable protagonist and I like him most for both his relationship with Baymax and seeing him trying to grieve with his brother’s death and not let it completely affect his life.

72 - Jack Skellington

Jack has one of the more interesting designs for a main protagonist, and the voice work and performance going into him help make him a charming and likable character.

71 - Elastigirl

When it comes to parents in Disney movies, the dads tend to get more focus and screen-time than the moms, who often tend to be dead, and while Incredibles technically falls into that as well as the dad is the main character, Elastigirl makes for the best Disney moms with her trying to keep her family safe from the law and I think the movie does a great job of showing a realistic marriage between the two main characters.

70-61

70 - Captain Amelia

Treasure Planet is one of my favorite Disney movies so I naturally have some bias for it, and while Amelia isn’t as strong as the other two in the game, she’s a fun supporting character and I like Emma Thompson’s voice performance and her dynamic with Doppler.

69 - Esmeralda

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is another one of my favorite Disney movies, and while character-wise, it’s mostly for Frollo and Quasimodo to a lesser extent, I think Esmeralda is an enjoyable character who sings a great song and I don’t have anything to really complain about with her.

68 - Phoebus

And you can take what I said about Esmeralda and apply it to Phoebus as well, with him being slightly higher due to having more quotable lines here and there.

67 - Jasmine

While not quite as good as Belle (or Mulan if you want to consider her a princess), Jasmine is one of my favorite Disney princesses and I like her dynamic with Aladdin, even if she can get overshadowed by some other characters in her movie.

66 - Kaa

The Jungle Book has one of my favorite character rosters of any Disney movie, and while Kaa is my least favorite of the four currently in the game, he’s still a fun secondary villain who gets a good song and has a good voice performance by Sterling Holloway.

65 - Jim Hawkins

Jim is a solid protagonist who forms an excellent dynamic with Silver with them helping each other overcome their flaws and forming a father-son-like relationship, but I prefer characters above him more, and he definitely does get hurt a little by being overshadowed by the excellence that is Silver for me.

64 - Rafiki

While he may not necessarily get a ton to do, Rafiki is still a fun and memorable supporting character, and I really like the scene where he talks sense into Simba into returning to Pride Rock to reclaim the throne, teaching him that you should learn from your past mistakes instead of running away from them.

63 - Lilo

Lilo is in the upper echelon as far as Disney’s kid characters go, and I think seeing her and Nani struggle with trying to endure the difficult situation they’re in with having to look out for each other after their parents’ death is very compelling.

62 - Hank and Dory

This is specifically for Hank and not Dory, as to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Dory and don’t find her that funny, but I do really like Hank, as he’s pretty much the Disney equivalent of Squidward from SpongeBob, and while not as strong as him, I think he’s a fun character with his dynamic with Dory and him trying to accomplish his goal while being annoyed with Dory’s antics.

61 - Horned King

A bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I don’t even really like the Black Cauldron that much and the Horned King definitely isn’t one of my favorite Disney villains and I’ll acknowledge feels a bit more style over substance, but man, he has such a cool and awesome design and I feel that style is enough to make up for not being the most substantive villain ever.

60-51

60 - Flynn Rider

Of all the Disney princes, while I don’t like him as much as Beast or Aladdin, Flynn Rider is probably the funniest one, and I think he gets a lot of great lines and I like him forming a genuine bond with Rapunzel after initially only being with her to get the crown he stole back.

59 - Flik

I think A Bug’s Life is very underrated, and while Flik does get overshadowed somewhat by Hopper and the circus bugs for me, I still think he’s a charming and fun protagonist who’s enjoyable to watch.

58 - Maleficent

While I might not put Maleficent as the best Disney villain or in my top favorites like she is for a lot of people, I still think she’s a great villain with a memorable design and voice-work, and having this wicked sophistication to her that makes her enjoyable to watch.

57 - Merlin

The Sword in the Stone isn’t one of my favorite Disney movies, but I will say that for all its faults, Merlin isn’t one of them and I think fits the eccentric mentor archetype very well, and has a lot of fun moments, especially from his interactions with Archimedes.

56 - Maui

Of all the characters made after him, I feel Maui has come closest in terms of having a larger than life personality and memorable voice performance to capturing the magic of Genie, a character who is very high up on this list. I think his charming ego is a lot of fun and he gets probably the best Disney song in the past decade with “You’re Welcome”.

55 - WALL-E

WALL-E is definitely the cutest character in the game and probably the cutest Disney character in general, and I think he’s an extremely endearing character despite his limited means of communications, which does keep him back from being as high as some others.

54 - Chef Skinner

While Skinner’s far from the most intimidating of villains out there, and I wouldn’t say he’s the most memorable villain in the grand scheme of things, there is something about him I find extremely entertaining with a lot of fun and quotable lines, so I have a bit of a soft spot for him even he’s not among the all-time great Disney villains.

53 - Hamm

Hamm’s my favorite of the main supporting cast in the Toy Story movies (unless you count Zurg, which I think he doesn’t do enough to qualify in that category), and I think he gets a lot of great lines and moments, largely thanks to the excellent voice performance from John Ratzenberger, and he’s immediately the first character who comes to mind for me when it comes to Ratzenberger’s many Pixar voice roles.

52 - Queen of Hearts

I think the Queen of Hearts is a very funny villain with her constant mood swings and her inability to be anything other than either calm and polite or angry and threatening, but considering she doesn’t appear until the last 15 minutes of the movie, and she’s intended to be more of a comedic villain than one who affects the plot much, I wouldn’t put her as one of the all-time best Disney villains, though she is still very enjoyable.

51 - Vinny

Vinny is definitely my favorite character in Atlantis, being the most consistently entertaining and quotable character present with a great voice performance from Don Novello.

50-41

50 - Timon and Pumbaa

Timon and Pumbaa are fun supporting characters who are very memorable and sing a classic song with “Hakuna Matata”, and though I do prefer Timon over Pumbaa, they’re both pretty enjoyable.

49 - Oogie Boogie

While he may not get the most screen-time ever, Oogie Boogie is a very fun villain who makes the best out of what he’s given to do, having a banger of a song and a fun personality with his whole gambling motif.

48 - Phil

Phil is one of those characters that the main strength in then lies in the fantastic voice performance, as Danny DeVito gives the character this very fun gruff personality that makes him very entertaining to watch and has great delivery on his lines.

47 - Donald Duck

Of the Sensational Six, Donald is easily my second favorite, only losing to Goofy, and he is a classic iconic character who is fun to watch with his constant fits of anger, but I feel some of his cartoons can be hit or miss, largely because I’m not too crazy about a lot of the characters he often gets pitted against in his shorts, which usually include his nephews and Chip and Dale, all of which were low on the list.

46 - Mr. Incredible

I think Mr. Incredible is a very enjoyable character with a great voice performance, and a lot of why is because I find his overall character arc of trying to overcome his mid-life crisis and be viewed as a superhero again very compelling and unique for Disney standards.

45 - Aladdin

Naturally, since I love the Aladdin movie, I think Aladdin himself makes for a great protagonist, and easily one of the best Disney princes, only losing to Beast for me. He has great dynamics with both Jasmine and especially Genie, and I think Scott Weinger gives a great performance; however, the character does suffer from being overshadowed by Genie, Jafar, and Iago for me, as I tend to think of them first instead of the titular character.

44 - Alice

Of all the Disney voice performances, I would cite Alice (and Wendy, who shares the same actress) as having the gold standard for a voice performance from a child actor, as I think Kathryn Beaumont gives a excellent performance and gives both of them a sense of sophistication and charm you don’t see in very many kid characters, and Alice is a very charming and likable character, largely thanks to the great voice performance, and I like her character development of learning to appreciate her normal life after experiencing the nonstop nonsense of Wonderland.

43 - Mother Gothel

In my opinion, this is the last great Disney villain who acted like a classic Disney villain, and while I wouldn’t say Mother Gothel is necessarily the flashiest Disney villain ever, she’s still a very effective and enjoyable one, doing what I believe most of the all-time great Disney villains do in balancing out being threatening with being funny, and she gets a great song and makes for a good last impression, and I’m hoping we can get back to more traditional villains soon.

42 - Gerald, Marlin, and Nemo

This is specifically for Marlin, as I think Nemo’s just alright and Gerald is hardly even a character. Marlin is probably the most layered and well-developed Disney parent, and easily the star of the show in his movie, and I really like his character development of learning to be less overprotective his son and learning to move on from his wife and other kids’ death.

41 - Randall

Monsters Inc. is my favorite Pixar movie and I think it’s such a blast to watch, and while Randall isn’t my favorite character in the movie and gets overshadowed by the two main characters for me, he’s still a fun and enjoyable villain and one of the better Pixar villains, balancing out being a threat while having funny moments, and having a neat design with fun powers.

40-31

40 - Robin Hood

Robin Hood is one of my favorite Disney movies and features some of my all-time favorite Disney characters, and while Robin Hood himself isn’t quite as good as some of his co-stars, he’s still a charming, memorable character with his clever schemes and various dynamics with his friends and enemies.

39 - King Louie

While he may not have the most plot importance or screen-time ever, King Louie is a ton of fun and makes the best out of the little he is given to do. It also helps that he sings the best song in the movie and one of my favorite Disney songs of all time.

38 - Jumba

Jumba is a very fun character with the over top Russian accent and constantly boasting about how evil he is when he really isn’t that evil, and even if you do want to consider him a villain (which I personally don’t), him being one of a handful who reforms in the end also makes him interesting.

37 - Carl

Carl is a very atypical Disney protagonist considering most of them tend to be either teenagers or young adults, and thus having an elderly man as the main character stands out, and I like his journey of wanting to accomplish his late wife’s dream and becoming a grandfather-figure to Russell.

36 - Mulan

Mulan is a great protagonist, and I think is an excellent example of how to write a strong female character who is well-written and not flawless, considering she doesn’t start out that way and has to work to reach that way. I have always found it weird why Disney considers her a princess though.

35 - Davy Jones

Davy Jones is probably the first live-action Disney villain who comes to mind for me, which isn’t a bad thing as I think he’s a very cool villain with a great design, while also having some tragic elements to him that make him compelling.

34 - Zurg

Yeah, I get that Zurg doesn’t really do much and only plays a small role in Toy Story 2, but he is extremely memorable and entertaining and makes the best out of the little he gets to do to be a super fun comic relief villain.

33 - Frozone

Similar to Zurg, Frozone may not necessarily be the most prominent character in his movie, but he does get more to do than Zurg does, and he is a lot of fun with a great voice performance from Samuel L. Jackson and getting one of the most memorable and quotable lines in Pixar history (WHERE!… IS!… MY SUPER SUIT?!?!?).

32 - Bagheera

Bagheera’s a great character who works very well as the no-nonsense straight man to the rest of the cast’s antics, and his dynamic with Baloo is top-notch and helps make one of the all-time great Disney duos.

31 - Megara

Meg is one of the more interesting and unique Disney female leads who has a bit more depth to her in being torn between supporting Hercules or supporting Hades, and her tragic backstory as to why she’s in the mess she’s in makes her sympathetic.

30-21

30 - Quasimodo

I love Hunchback as a movie, and while Quasimodo does get overshadowed by Frollo a little bit for me, he’s still a great character and the second best in his movie, as he’s very likable and I like seeing him try to find acceptance amongst the public and break free from Frollo’s influence over him.

29 - Pacha

While there is another John Goodman-voiced character I like more, Pacha is a great character who is both very likable and works very well as a straight man to Kuzco’s antics.

28 - Cogsworth and Lumiere

Beauty and the Beast is one of my two favorite Disney movies alongside Aladdin, and considering this is the lowest placed character(s) from the movie, that says a lot about the quality of the ones in the game. Honestly, the two are about equal to me enjoyment-wise (maybe Lumiere slightly higher just for singing “Be Our Guest”), and I think they’re great comic relief characters with their love-hate relationship and great voice work.

27 - Hector Barbossa

While I do prefer Davy Jones as a villain, I prefer Barbossa as a character overall, being an entertaining character who also has a bit more depth to him than many on here, starting out as the villain in the first movie, then becoming an anti-hero in the sequels after he was revived.

26 - Ralph

Ralph is easily one of my favorite “modern” (2010s or later) Disney character, with only one other character from that time period being higher than him on here, and I think he’s an excellent protagonist who’s very likable and I really like his journey of trying to prove that just because he’s the villain in his game doesn’t mean he’s a bad person.

25 - Captain Hook

And now we reach the point of the list where a lot of villains are going to start popping up. Captain Hook is one of those villains that I feel does what most of the all-time great Disney villains do, in balancing out being a legitimate threat while also being very funny, and while he is one leaning more towards the funny end of the scale, he is extremely entertaining, and a little more sympathetic than most Disney villains considering Peter Pan started the conflict between them, but not too sympathetic as what makes him a villain is how he takes his anger for Peter Pan out on other people, which makes him a fun and interesting villain.

24 - Baymax

Baymax is my favorite “modern” Disney character, and I think he’s just such an enjoyable character to watch with his appealing and unique design, and how devoted is to his healthcare duties at the expense of everything else makes for a lot of fun comedy.

23 - Basil

Basil is definitely one of the most fun main Disney protagonists, and his dynamic with Ratigan in how far they go to outsmart and foil each other is just a ton of fun. Granted, I do prefer Ratigan over him, but Basil is still a very enjoyable character and in the upper echelon as far as Disney’s main protagonists go.

22 - Scar

Scar is yet another one of the all-time great Disney villains and does what they do best, in being both threatening and funny at the same time, while also having a great voice performance from Jeremy Irons and singing an absolute banger of a song with “Be Prepared”.

21 - Yzma

Yzma is just so quotable and fun that, even though she isn’t that threatening of a villain and is one who is a little more sympathetic than most considering for a lot of the movie, Kuzco isn’t a saint himself and if anything, comes across as being worse than her until he comes around, you don’t really care due to how entertaining and funny she is.

20-11

20 - Kronk

Who doesn’t like Kronk? He’s just so likable and funny, and Patrick Warburton’s performance is so strong, that anytime I hear his voice in anything, I’m immediately reminded of Kronk, which is not a bad thing.

19 - Belle

Easily my favorite Disney princess and probably my favorite female Disney character who isn’t a villain, Belle is a very enjoyable and likable character who sings great songs and is a part of one of Disney’s most well-developed and compelling couples; even if she’s definitely not as quite as great as Beast or Gaston, she is still a all-time classic Disney character.

18 - Jafar

Another one of the all-time great classic Disney villains, Jafar is yet another excellent character to watch, balancing out being a legitimate threat while also being funny and having a super fun dynamic with Iago, though unlike a few villains coming up, does suffer a little bit from the fact that he does get overshadowed by another character in the movie for me, but still, Jafar is awesome, and in most other Disney movies, he would probably be the best character.

17 - Ursula

Ursula is just such an iconic and classic Disney villain who is super enjoyable and entertaining to watch, once again, balancing out being a big threat while also being really funny, and what elevates her slightly above Jafar is singing a banger of the song and being the best character in her movie and not being overshadowed by another character.

16 - Hades

Yeah, I think you can guess what I’m going say. Hades is another all-time great Disney villain who once again hits that great balance of being threatening and funny, and I think is elevated by having one of the all-time great Disney voice performances with James Woods, giving him such a unique style and charisma to him that makes him feel like a little more effort was put into him than most Disney villains.

15 - Hopper

I’d argue Hopper is probably one of the most underrated Disney villains and I think he’s such a really cool and charismatic character that you enjoy watching, but still want to see get defeated. Granted, I’d say he’s probably not quite as funny as someone like Hades or Ursula, but he still gets funny moments, and I think him being underrepresented and somewhat forgotten about does make him a little more interesting since we don’t see him as often as a lot of other villains on here.

14 - Woody

The first three Toy Story movies are all classics, and a lot of it is held up by its two main characters. Woody is a very solid and classic character, with a great voice performance from Tom Hanks, to his development of becoming friends with Buzz despite his initial jealousy of him, and I think makes for a very well-rounded and enjoyable protagonist.

13 - Buzz Lightyear

Truth be told, Buzz and Woody are very close and which one I prefer could change from day to day, but at the current moment, I’ll probably put Buzz slightly higher. Once again, the voice performance for Buzz is fantastic with Tim Allen being exceptional in the role, and while he may not quite have as much depth to him than Woody, I think Buzz is a little more entertaining and quotable, especially when he’s acting deluded and obsessing over Star Command. Overall, the two of them make for an exceptional and highly entertaining duo, though there is a duo of Pixar protagonists I prefer over them who will be coming up shortly.

12 - Goofy

Goofy is such an easy character to like and out of the main Mickey Mouse gang, has the strongest collection of classic shorts, from the 40’s cartoons with the “How To” formula to the 50’s cartoons where he is an everyman. His current portrayal from Bill Farmer is just so iconic, charming, and memorable, and I feel he balances out stupid humor well by being an idiot without ever becoming annoying, and the two Goofy movies also add a lot of depth to him in being a single dad trying to raise his son and have a good relationship between the two of them.

11 - Sulley and Boo

This spot is specifically for Sulley, and I think the combination of both him and Mike make for my favorite duo of Disney protagonists in my favorite Pixar movie and one of my favorite movies of all time, and certainly the most entertaining pair with how well they work off each other. While I definitely don’t struggle in saying I prefer Mike, Sulley is still an excellent character who gets a lot of great lines and moments, with an exceptional voice performance from John Goodman and being a fantastic classic character.

10 - Mike Wazowski

And you can take what I said about Sulley and apply it to Mike as well. The voice performance from Billy Crystal is one of the best there is, and Mike is consistently hilarious from start to finish, with so many great and quotable lines (“Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!”).

9 - Sheriff of Nottingham

The Sheriff is my favorite Disney villain who isn’t the main villain in their franchise, and while he may not be the most intimidating villain ever, I think he (and especially Prince John) make up for it by being two of the funniest Disney villains, with a lot of coming down to Pat Buttram’s fantastic delivery and voice work, in being able to take these lines that objectively aren’t that funny or entertaining and make them really entertaining and quotable.

8 - Syndrome

Syndrome is easily the best Pixar villain and one of the best Disney villains in general, and of all the villains on this list, I’d argue he hits the strongest balance between being threatening and funny, as he has quite a high kill count, but his over-the-top mannerisms and geeky personality also make him hilarious and super quotable, which makes him feel like he’s firing on all cylinders the whole movie.

7 - Pete

I absolutely adore Pete, and I think his variety of roles he’s played over the years from a traditional villain in the earlier shorts and House of Mouse to his less villainous roles like Goof Troop and its follow-up movies make him a bit more unique than the average Disney villain. While he isn’t a very threatening villain, there are shorts like Mickey’s Christmas Carol where he does manage to be intimidating, and on top of that, Pete is generally hilarious to boot, especially when Jim Cummings is voicing him and gives him this fantastic larger-than-life personality. Plus, his green skill animation where he drops a bowling ball on his foot is probably my favorite animation in the game.

6 - Gaston

If we’re counting classic traditional Disney villains who are full-on villains, then Gaston is my favorite in the game and second favorite overall behind Frollo (though if we’re counting any type of antagonist, then both lose to one character higher on this list). I think he works as such a great contrast and foil to Beast considering they start out similar, but as the movie goes on, they develop in different directions with Beast changing for the better and Gaston resorting to evil methods to force Belle to marry him, and balances that all out by singing two excellent songs and being hilarious and really quotable as well (“And every last inch of me’s covered with HAIR!”).

5 - Beast

As far as Disney characters, I believe Beast and one character coming up are the two strongest in regards to character development, and Beast’s redemption arc of learning to treat others with kindness and how to truly love is done super well, and I think his design is really interesting and it helps that he’s the first prince in a princess movie that felt like they mattered just as much, if not more, than the princess.

4 - Baloo

What is there to dislike about Baloo? Really, nothing, and in my opinion, is probably the all-time greatest voice performance of any Walt-era character, tying with another character voiced by the same person for second and only losing to one character higher up for the greatest voice performance overall. Phil Harris gives the character such a charming, fun, laid-back personality, and he’s just so likable and entertaining while singing one of the all-time great Disney songs, having a great arc of learning to give Mowgli what he needs rather than what he wants, and having a fantastic dynamic with Bagheera.

3 - John Silver

John Silver was the other character I was referring to in having one of the two best character arcs of any Disney character, and I think he’s a phenomenal and well-written character who’s a bit more unique than the average Disney character. He’s one of the few characters who’s both the main villain in his movie, yet isn’t truly evil and is more an anti-villain who has redeeming traits and ultimately reforms in the end, and combined that with him becoming an excellent father figure to Jim, the great voice performance from Brian Murray, and his innovative and not distracting blend of both traditional animation and CGI on his robotic parts, makes him a one of a kind character and criminally underrated.

2 - Little John

Little John is pretty much Baloo 2.0, and while he may have come later and I understand why most would probably put Baloo above him, I’m biased towards Robin Hood, and I think Little John is just such a fun and entertaining character, getting tons of quotable lines (“HEY! Who’s driving this flying umbrella?!?”), functioning as a entertaining straight man to Robin’s dangerous schemes, singing a great and, in my opinion, very underrated song, with yet another phenomenal voice performance from Phil Harris. Speaking of phenomenal voice performances, let’s get to the top spot…

1 - Genie

Easily the best character on the list and my favorite fictional character of all time. Really, what is there to dislike with Genie? Robin Williams’ voice performance is in my opinion the greatest voice performance of all time, pretty much everything he says is super quotable and entertaining (“PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS!!! Itty bitty living space…”), he also poses as a good mentor to Aladdin in his more serious moments, and he sings one of the all-time great Disney songs with “Prince Ali”, and my favorite Disney song of all time with “Friend Like Me”.

Hope you all had fun reading this, and feel free to discuss anything on here you think is interesting or warrants further discussion.
