Solo deals feedback

Hey everyone, let’s quit with the direct attacks on Polaris. Polaris didn’t decide single-handedly to put these deals on the table. He/she is also probably not allowed to tell us where the positive feedback came from, or they would have said so already.

Let’s continue to give constructive reasonable feedback that Polaris can actually take back to the powers that be and push our case.

I really don’t think your team listens to the majority of the players. There seems to be a “too bad, so sad” mentality whenever we the players object to decisions made by perblue that we feel are harming the community.

  • When you added the 6th star to characters, the majority of us objected to it. Nothing was changed, and we were forced to deal with it.

  • When we tell you that level cap and rarity increases are coming way too fast, nothing is done about it, and we are forced to deal with it.

  • When you cut our Invasion rewards by 90%, nothing was done about it, and we are forced to deal with it.

  • When you increased the amount of gold and exp needed to level up characters exponentially, nothing was done about it, and we were forced to deal with it.

Those are just some examples of very unpopular decisions that were made by perblue despite copious amounts of player objections.

This latest insult is the final straw. It’s obvious our objections and concerns fall on deaf ears. It’s obvious your company cares more about squeezing every last cent from loyal players then listening to them.

With that being said, I’m done supporting this game financially in any shape or form any longer.

Fool us once, shame on you.
Fool us twice…

Why do comments like this keep being censored. I’ve personally grown accustomed to the censorship around here. Since every time I speak up I’m silenced or comments get hidden for speaking the truth. You only listen to “positive” feedback any time it’s negative it’s swept under the rug. A Community Manager is supposed to convey accurate and important information to the community by being the face of the company by responding to its user base on a timely manner and building active relationships with its user base. Don’t listen to me though I only work for a tiny company called Blizzard Entertainment ,but you probably have never heard of it.

Congrats Perblue. You made me not want to spend money.

Why don’t you make a poll in-game and get some REAL feedback from the ppl…constructive enough ?

I think dissention by the community is necessary when it comes to unpopular updates. I definitely tried to sound alarm in Server 14 to make sure a lot of people, not only on server 14, but also in other Servers, to speak out.

I join many players who have voiced their opinion in regards to the changes in the online deals. It wasn’t really a topic that was brought up by the members in server 14, until it was rolled out by PB a few weeks ago. I was surprised by the comment made by Polaris that it was “popular” in server 14. I can only speculate that Polaris meant popular as in players continued to buy the deals and collected tons revenue (which would be good for business) from the increased sales in Server 14. And since this deal started running, I see that the top 100 players in the server continue to rise in the power rankings which could also infer the popularity of the deal. You can only rise in power if you are spending money on the game (buying stamina deals, MODS deals, and other supplies and inventory deals.)

As for myself, who has severely limited his spending due to the recent changes in deals (1st it was limiting the amount of deals being made, then the non-stacking nature of deals, then it was the solo deals.) So I, as a paying customer, made a deliberate choice to LIMIT MY SPENDING because I saw very little value and return to the amount I was investing in the game.

Polaris does not do a good job assuaging the masses. We were told earlier in the year that PerBlue would SLOW DOWN LEVEL CAPS INCREASES, but then quickly reneged on that promise. When concerning the implementation of the Solo Deals, I feel that Perblue flubbed the roll out by just committing to the Solo Deal on the day off. I wish there was communication via in game Announcement, or by creating a chat thread in the forums (like how a few PB employees are doing recently). BUT PERBLUE DID NOTHING OF THE SORT. I think now that the SOLO DEAL reached all servers, there is now MORE AGENCY (and anger) from the community.

I think that we have to accept the possibility that his game has reached rock bottom and taken the appropriate measurements…
Gone from p2w to f2p today and I’m off for 24 hours…

I thought I read the other day, I rarely touch the forums, and don’t have time to search it out, but they said these new solo deals are better value more specific deals, even if they’re better item/$ deals they’re not percieved as such. It’s hard to put a value on deals when in the past few months there would be a deal and at the end of the week the same deal runs with either more items or the same at half the price. If solo deals are supposed to be more specific please stop attaching common items like friend stamina and make those separate because I have over 3000 of those, the game will shut down before I use them all. My thoughts are a bit scatterbrained right now, been a long work week, but even I’ve noticed a decrease in spending in my top 5 guild.

I’ll be honest, I don’t see myself every buying one of these low value solo deals. Too little bang for my buck.

I rarely spent before, only when the deals stacked enough to seem worth it. Don’t think I will find a reason to spend with the day this solo deal thing is going.

I don’t get why it’s “difficult” to make deals if they stack.
Just do what you’re doing with Solo deals right now and make it stackable. I’m sure it would increase spending incentive.

If someone see’s that they can spend 19 dollars and get the 4 dollar deal, the pragmatist in them will probably try to spend more, that’s 4x the money they would have spent.

It’s not like any of this stuff is worth anything objectively anyway. (Although you are told to make the player base believe the opposite subconsciously.)

Hi @Polaris can I get a response at somepoint? Others obviously agreed with my point of view on this topic.

You are not being censored. Any posts that are hidden have violated the forum rules. Calling me a liar is a personal attack I will not stand for. Negative feedback is fine, but you need to be respectful of the rules for this platform, and all the people involved in this conversation.

I understand the change to solo deals is rough for some people. If you are a more hardcore player, you were able to watch and wait to for the rare opportunities to stack your deals, but that wasn’t the case for many players. The goal of the deals is to give players things they need in the game. We can’t do that when we can only offer one or two generic deals. If you note, there are times when there are 4 or 5 different solo deals running that are specific to heroes or campaign, or invasion, etc… There is a great diversity in how people play the game, and solo deals gives us the flexibility to offer a diversity of deals to help them where they are.

Think about this - how frustrating would it be for you as a player to open the deals everyday and see nothing that you need? Sure there’s stuff for sale, and it’s probably something you’ll need eventually, but it isn’t the thing that you need right now in the game to get you to the next level of what you’re working on. If you have limited fun money, you have to be choosy on what you buy. We’re working on way to improve the solo system to make sure it’s offering more of what players need.

I agree with you the game lost its appeal to me !

Here’s the problem Perblue is ignoring; there is literally nothing stopping the team from offering more deals that are stackable. This is PB’s decision to do this. This is their way of forcing us to spend more money if we want multiple deals.

What is stopping the team from offering solo and stackable deals simultaneously? Why can’t you offer more stackable deals with shorter times of being available? There’s no reason other than blatant greed from PerBlue to offer this option, or to offer so many solo deals. If we miss a deal, we miss a deal, simple as that, but at least we’ll get the option to get more bang for our buck.

Same value? Nothing changed?
And again, focusahead was right, deals getting worse.

$50 for this deal, pathetic.

This post is a prime example of why people are upset

It’s not “some people”. It’s most people. A community manager should not be engaging in this kind of doublespeak.

We aren’t people that need to be handled and dismissed; we are your CUSTOMERS.

The fact that you and your company continue to treat us like we are just an annoyance that needs to be handled is both insulting and problematic.

Except you’re wrong. The players are not universal in their opinion of this change, and it is only some people who are not able to see beyond their anger at the change and give it a chance. There are some people who have no problem with this change and appreciate the variety of of deals offered.

I am trying to engage with this thread in a civil way and have a productive dialogue, but when players are insulting and make false assumptions and generalizations it’s difficult to make any progress.

What is the point with arguing about some deals, it’s not like it’s affecting the major way you play, the only thing you could do is not spend on it at all and just ignore it, sure people want the upper hand when buying deals so they can get the benefit of the doubt of getting many resources but at a business standpoint they need to make a new approach to players and meaning that it makes the game harder but that’s the point of video games. And I get it there are people who really like to spend there fun money and resources into this game but there could be things more interesting to catch your eye in the future of what you want.

I still like the solo deals a lot personally!
