State of the Game - August 2020

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

See @Polaris constructive criticism…

Something like “Let your voice be heard. Vote in our current pull to find out what suits you best.”

Anyway, you could still just make it so that guild gifts appear as such:
Monday-Tuesday: Invasion Supplies
Tuesday-Wednesday: Gold
Wednesday-Thursday: Diamond Crates
Thursday-Friday: Hero Chips

Maintain that for few weeks and then post the results as % here. Number of players in the game and % of how many bought each deal overall.

As far as I remember, you ran Invasion Supplies twice or thrice before even giving the Diamond Crate guild gift, which was one-time only.
How can you judge the performance by one appearance?

Maybe switch these around because friday is more praised or something like that so people will look forward to it more than they already do

I think people are just frustrated with the games overall structure. Its still a climb to rank up and level up heroes. As I previously, after 130 the climb is becoming much harder and for us to level up newer heroes is quite challenging even for people who plays on a daily basis.

The guild gifts coming into effect with all the respect in the world. The deals we get more and more off is gifts we don’t really want. We all know what deals they are and you yourself know what deals they are. We Just want gifts to help us on the overall hero progression.

We need barriers to help us get heroes to max level and max rarity. I dont see it in game in all honesty. I see an hero taking at least 3 weeks or more to get up to rank 6 or 7, and thats quite bad.

Please give us previews of changes to xp, scaling and guild gifts. I bet a lot of us will be more grateful in the future.

I’d estimate that sales of the guild gift were up by around 600% for diamond crates - I’d say we can judge it pretty well

I don’t think it’s entirely fair for people to demand proof from PB of their data, they aren’t going to lie about it lol. It’s better to consider why the data might be what it is, and how the gifts could be improved (this has been discussed at length) rather than either calling PB liars or calling those who buy the deals stupid.

At the end of the day, we can make a fuss all we want but it’s PBs game and the deals they offer are totally up to them. It would make 0 sense for them to offer deals that nobody is buying. If they are poor value (which they are!), we don’t have to buy them - the problem us complainants have is clearly that too many people do.

It’s also quite clear that the diamond crate guild gift was the bestseller, but that PBs interpretation of ‘game economy’ hasn’t allowed them to repeat such a gift yet. I do still have some of those crates left over, so while I’d like more, I can understand them not wanting to inflate the amount that are in the game and push people too far ahead from where they “should be”

(that being said, diamond crates are a pretty good leveller for f2p against p2w players - something they have mentioned needing to do…)

As a player on one of the newest servers, i see guild gifts bought quite some times by my guild mates, no matter what it is.
Depending on the heroes could be worth it for newer servers to get the chips from guild gifts.
Still not saying the chips to euro or dollar is fine.
What it all comes down to is how many people buy it.
Up to 500 chips on a newer server is huge as the deals are not that great yet.
For older servers its a bad deal indeed and i am still not sure if its really worth it on newer servers.
But to get some extra stars for some heroes is not that bad if i can help out my guild with it as well.

Yeah, I’m sorta regretting bringing it up now…

This is true, although through forums, chat, and my own guild, I’ve been hearing from people in guilds spread throughout the top 50 or so in rankings. And it’s not just the majority of people I’ve been talking with who’ve been saying that they bought the gold/crate deals but not the chip/invasion ones; it’s every single person I’ve talked with saying their experience in their guild has been that the gold/crate deals were far more popular than the other deals.

Fair enough; my secondary account is in a much newer, more casual guild, mostly composed of players nowhere near the max team level/rank, and there’s definitely a different mindset among the members there. (Although they hardly ever buy any guild gifts, so that’s not really helpful in providing me with experience on that question.) But still, the point remains that there have been a total of five different resources tried; maybe you can feel safe in assuming that, e.g., stamina or hero XP wouldn’t sell as well as hero chips, but it’s still just an assumption.

In the end, though, it just sounds like the guild gifts that are going to be offered are just not going to be gifts that I think will provide good value for my guild. It’s something that I’ll personally view as a missed opportunity, but when all’s said and done, it doesn’t hurt my playing experience that the guild gifts end up not being aimed at me.

Non-active in the forums doesn’t mean non-active, period. And if the hero chips are selling better than the diamond crate deal did, then I could certainly see a weaker, more casual, but more tightly-knit guild deciding nearly everyone wants to work on a certain hero, and then 30 out of the 35-40 members all buying the deal. Depending on how far along they are in terms of level/rank, that could be a worthwhile investment even for heroes available in shops like City Watch.

Of course, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that most of the people buying the hero chip deal really aren’t considering whether it’s worth the money; certainly, the diamond crate deal would be even more valuable for people at lower team levels/ranks than it was to people near the server max, yet apparently it sold much worse to them.

It is actually possible to express disagreement, displeasure, and even anger in a respectful, constructive manner. Asking people to refrain from insults and accusations of moral (or criminal) wrongdoing doesn’t mean that everyone’s expected to just agree with PerBlue and spout banal niceties.

This is very true; if the newer servers are seeing 10 hero chips in the guild gift, compared to 1000 badge tokens or 3 (!) diamond crates, then that’s going to look like a much better deal and be much more popular. I’m wondering how many players on each server bought the crate deal, vs. how many on each server are buying hero chip deals.

This doesn’t mean them being quite they agree with the data You collect either (even if none of us see this data, we go by what we see on here and on our respected server talk ). I know several people that were dolphins that quit , who wouldn’t talk in game or here, but in separate Facebook messager Chat or discord they would talk about how they feel they wasted money on this game and are glad to have quit with direction game was going. Not saying people aren’t entitled to diffrent opinions And you aren’t allowed to do with what your game, but from people see on majority of their respective servers they see more people leaving the game and just have lost trust, it’s not calling your data a lie, but more of a trust factor I think at this point. From those I’ve talk to they don’t even think it’s worthy to write a support ticket Anymore they feel the responses are just pregenerated Responses and the actual questions/statements aren’t being read. As stated in your state of game here, u definitely got to work on your communication/transparency with the player base more as I feel more are feeling distant as game goes on.

And to say there is a lot of players still playing who in comparison to those on the forums, I think maybe true, but the player base numbers I don’t think is a true statistic. There are people who are playing as other people of those that quit , just to give themselves a boost or keep guilds more full. There are people who created accounts in hoping to merge accounts when servers merged that you denied for one reason or the other, while accepting merges of accounts of others who were in same circumstances as those you denied (I have proof of these, but out of respect of said players I will not post and keep this proof to myself). I think the short answer To this rant , is you need to be more detailed , and transparent more often. (Do state of games more frequent, say what Equations you are Using decide when to increase game currency (shield points, gold, etc) for increasing toon improvement skills). As far as gold and stamania buys are concerned… I think it be a good step if the more gems are spent on said items, the more items you get (for example spending 100 gems for stamania (think it’s like 326 right now) should be more stamania bought then when 50 gems are used (ie 50 gems used can be 326 stamania, while 100 can be like 450). I understand it’s a business and you say what we say here is stated in discussions like those that say things on your own servers, at the end of the day when majority that do speak up on here or in game and don’t feel like what they been discussing for months again and again is not being changed, of course we don’t feel like we being heard. End rant.

THIS just shows that other deals are very terrible, not that the 10 chips for $5 is a good deal.
It’s tinsel in a dark tunnel, but it isn’t gold what is shining.
And to max a hero you need well over 1100 chips, this doesn’t include mods which require other 2k chips, plus no guild have 50 members which will buy a gift, and definitely not that bad as 940 shop tokens for $5.

So, forcing others just to say positive things is ok, happy for all reasons is ok.
And how anyone who should would know that the state of the game is bad?
You can pet the cat to death.

People are leaving, people who are still here aren’t happy, they are frustrated and angry or at least disappointed. Something good here, no.
Game is sweet and all, but it’s falling into ruins and developers didn’t do much (anything…) to prevent it, and the game is now dramatically dying after each cap rise. Many top players are leaving, others too, it’s easy to notice in the contests.

Just wanted to say thank you for an absolutely great game, I play for a long time now. Though there are details to be discussed and optimized you are doing an amazing job over all!

Not sayng thats its a great deal, but even 10 guild gifts is a nice boost on my server.
I get that this doesn’t count for other servers and most of all shows how bad the deals are.
It could very well be that hero chips are bought more on the more populated newer servers compared to older servers which skews the numbers a bit.

You’re missing the whole point of guild crates, you’re not buying 10 chips for $5, you’re buying 10 chips FOR EVERY ONE in your guild for $5. So, if your guild is caring and reciprocal, you’re buying 100? 500? Chips for $5. Plus 300 diamonds…

And if you have a regular pizza and share with 50 people, do you will be still hungry, or not?

and NOBODY wants these chips!

Behold the One that speaks in the name of everyone.

Still missing the point, everyone brings a pizza, not only you. You really need better guildmates.

The deals simply need better value so that not everyone has to buy the deal for it to produce a noticeable change. I understand if people want more hero chips, however, it wouldn’t hurt at all to bump it up to 30 chips per purchase.

Idk… maybe read forums.

And who said that all 50 members want chips for QoH or 940 tokens?

So you want (at least) the first 3 stars for a known hero for $5 deals…

Of course, how I didn’t think about it… Because every player participates in this forum… Thanks for the advice.

Who knows? Oh yeah you. Because you read the forums. Anyhow, there have been chip deals for Mulan, K&S and Pooh way before they were available in shops in my server. Everyone in my guild had a 4 stars Mulan before she was available. For us it was a great deal.

30 chips = First 2 stars of a hero

10 chips can only give you a measley one star. Besides, it wouldn’t hurt in the least to have more chips.

Polaris just approves flags, other players have flagged you for being straight up rude.

I just read your post about your account being hacked and I don’t get what you want PerBlue to do. They aren’t responsible for your account being hacked.

I bet it was flagged because you are rude and ignorant.
