State of the Game - August 2020

What would be nice from the team would be this @Polaris (food for thought):

  1. Instead of a continuation up to Red+14 rank as is in Portal Quest, it would be enough to instead reveal Golden rank with TL 200. That way, one could tell nicely what the current rank cap is.
  2. With the Golden rank, the level cap raises will still be at 4 weeks and the new chapters would go as planned. On the other hand, rank cap raises will be halted to once every 8 weeks.
This has several advantages, as for example, newer servers will come closer to the rank cap of the old servers.

Example: If S1 got Golden rank and TL 200 on 15th September (as is the planned R13), S21 and 22 are getting TL 140 and Red+2 rank.
Then, 4 weeks later, in October, S1 would get only a TL increase to 205 while Golden rank stays the same and S21/22 get TL 145 and Red+3 rank.
In November, S1 would get a TL increase to 210 and rank increase to Golden+1, while S21/22 get TL 150 and Red+4 rank.

As you see, it narrows the gap between rank caps (most hated part of the whole “cap increases” on older servers) while still letting the other stuff (friendship unlocks at higher levels, new chapters, levelling up) in the same pace as currently is.
Technically a win-win situation.

At this time I can’t share any info about what’s after red rarity, but I am hoping to get a preview of that in the next state of the game post. The team is talking about the suggestion to separate the team level increase with the rarity increase - looking at the possibilities, feasibility, and ramifications.

Well, my analysis is based on the foundation that the “Rank” takes off from the “Gear” of your currently only other game, Portal Quest, as said.
Whether it´s going to be the same as Portal Quest as not is wholly dependent on the team but… unless it´s stated otherwise, I am counting on the Portal Quest Rank variant.

Good. Hopefully it comes true

@Polaris, we need info on the "end stages " of the game really really badly. I’m not over exaggerating when I say in the history of the game I’ve not spoken to so many unhappy players as I have recently.
On S5 we’re about to go thought a massive drop off in top spending players - many are informing me that they are stopping with this R12 patch and that enough is enough. I kinda feel the same way (as do all the other players that are sticking around to see what happens in the short term)

We NEED to know how much longer of a badge grind you guys have in store.

Personally a couple more islands (chapters) and I will throw in the towel. The fun stops when there is no end in sight and I was sure it was around the corner but now… not so much.
Of course the badge grind could go on forever but that doesn’t mean it should.

This is why I proposed the differing the level/rank cap for whatever is after Red.

Don´t get me wrong, but the BADGE GRIND IS STUPID. That´s what everyone said either in the forums and even Emitz says here @Polaris. The stamina needs a big adjustment ASAP otherwise a big drop of high spending players is not only likely, but surely becomes a thing.

I, for myself, said that I will stop spending altogether on this game. It´s just not worth it, since a single hero cost to get from R11 to R12 is roughly $1.50 in stamina with the double drops ($3 without). That’s the main problem of the game since F2P players earn roughly $6-$7 worth of stamina throughout the whole month and that equals 2-3 upgraded heroes without double drops and 4-5 with them, barely enough for Arena, not enough for Coliseum or Guild War.

If F2P players got a $30-$45 worth of stamina over the course of the “between cap” season, the game would be fine. I don’t say great, but it will be fine. However that means the current stamina gains must be multiplied by 5.

Conclusion: What is happening is that people that pay sure have much more progress in the terms of maxed heroes. Soon after they realize that the amount of money they spent for “progress” tastes rather bitterly. And everyone feels that with each consecutive update they are farther and farther from reaching the “goal” which would be maxing all characters out. I know it’s made impossible for F2P, but once P2P players get the same blow, they sure turn F2P or, worse, leave.

Stamina wouldn’t be bad if the badge bits were grouped together better then they are now having to spend 1k stamina on 2 different levels to craft 1 badge is ridiculous tbh and it doesn’t have to be that hard if badge bits were more closely aligned with their badges. A prime example is the kitty in ice cream badge the 2 bits to make are on seperate levels so I have to spend 2x the stamina to craft 1 badge when I could spend 1x if the bits were grouped together. I’m not the only one feeling this way I feel. I mean it’s not a perfect fix for the stamina issues but it would be a start

While this helps older servers for server 21 and 22 this doesn’t look so great.
One can only keep up with so much.
I would say the newer servers got the worst of it. Same amount of heroes and way less time to build them.

That is also a thing of 6-8-10-12-14 system in campaigns. If all stages costed 6 stamina, the badge grind would be reduced to half or even less.

And reducing everything to 6 stamina per node would be perfect change by PB and a good proof that PB cares much (or more).

Now we sit and just cry, and nothing has been changed.

Yes but you still have to burn stamina on multiple levels to craft 1 badge

Imagine crafting 1 badge in 1 campaign node how much stamina people would save

Or another way to do it is group together the commonly used badges like turtles family shears stone guardians on same levels cause I’ve noticed many heroes need these same badges and it would help immensely if I could get love bugs and balloons and family shears in 1 level not 3

since like midway through Orange they follow the same pattern…

They have introduced so many badges and so many are so lightly used while others are needed by literally every hero could be another way to balance out stamina is wider variety of badges to heroes

Wooohoo yay im so happy

Even then, 6 is a bit too much. What they should do is reduce it to 4.

Ok we know that

they will never reduce to 6, forget about 4!

4 would be ideal, but yeah as you say Musk, IT IS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

And thus here goes the slow downfall of the game. :disappointed:
