Tamatoa - Likely (or not) Concept

Hey everyone! This is my first (non-joke) concept! Depending on how it is received, I may make more. Enjoy!

Tamatoa

This crab is most certainly shiny! He uses his sparkle to help allies…And crush foes

“You can’t expect a demigod to beat a decapod”
:star: :star: :star:
Role: Control
Position: Frontline
Trials Team: :yellow_circle:

Animations

Basic Attack: Swings claw at enemies

Entrance: Rises from the ground going from pile of gold to crab

Victory: Does this face:

Defeat: Jet of water propels Tamatoa onto his back

Skills

:white_circle: White Skill: Not Hard Enough

Tamatoa starts dancing and while he dances all allies bypass invincibility buffs on enemies, however they will deal 80% less damage to them instead of a normal amount of their damage. The damage is unchanged on enemies without invincibility buffs.

:green_circle: Green Skill: Crabby, Not Shabby
:sparkles: Fantastic
Tamatoa “strums” the frontmost enemy, dealing X damage, and gives that HP to the frontmost ally.

:large_blue_circle: Blue Skill: Shiny Serenade
Tamatoa shimmers his gold, and charms all frontline enemies for 10 seconds. This has a chance to fail on enemies above level X.

:purple_circle: Purple Skill: Look It Up
Tamatoa looks at the player and grants 2 stacks of hardy and 15% of Tamatoa’s Max HP as reality to ally with least HP every 8 seconds.

:red_circle: Red Skill: Send Your Armies
When Tamatoa reaches half of his max HP, all allies are invincible for 10 seconds. This has a chance to fail on allies above level X. Tamatoa gains 1 stack of Hardy every 2 basic attacks.

+X HP
+Y Armor
+Z Basic Damage

Friendships

Tamatoa/Jack Skellington
Campaign: A Shiny Christmas
Disk: HoliDebacle
Allies: Sally, LSB, Olaf
Buff: Whenever Tamatoa uses “Shiny Serenade”, every enemy has X % chance to be sapped on charm
Disk Power:
+X Shield to yellow team allies

Tamatoa/Maui
Campaign: Hunt For The Hook
Disk: Old Enemies
Allies: Tia Dalma, Ursula, and Moana
Buff: When Tamatoa uses “Not Hard Enough”, the damage the allies deal is multiplied by 30%
+19% damage per star.
Disk power:
+X Damage to enemies

It’s a first good one. Looking at my Hocus Pocus one that I wanna remaster

Good catch. Fixed it.

It got a ton of nice references and suits the character well!

There are a few technicalities though…

This is way to OP and also has no variable. I would recommend putting a level restriction: “This has a chance to fail on enemies above level X”

Also consider either the lenght or the amount of heroes charmed

Ally?

Also no variable here, so level restriction could be in place here as well.

Way more OP than the skill already was. It would lead enemies to be charmed for 19 (!) seconds with max disk.

So maybe consider a thing like Chesire has: sap on charm. Every enemy has X % chance to be sapped on charm (or another effect)

Also, and this concerns both disks, the effects granted per star are the same as the starting amount. So if you want to get to 90%, you need to have 19% per star.

If the “player” you quoted is this one:

It is in fact supposed to be the player.

And “break the fourth wall” like Tamatoa does in the movie.
Great feedback, Lucas. Thanks

Oohh of course! Should have known that! It is very in-character for him to do so :joy:

Yeah, lol.
I also made one of his skills have to do with reality (I forget which one) which is also a reference as he “breaks reality”

he actually ruined my life!

How

Pm me so I can talk about how it happens to me

I think I fixed all of the errors :+1:
Thanks, Lucas

It’s pretty weak if so, if all front-line enemies gets KO’d (or none were on enemy side) then this skill does nothing.

Just like Minnie can do, or Mr. Big freeze enemies.

If so, this is broken. :grimacing:
The hate towards shields…

Not sure how it would be even animated in-game.

Allies not enemies.

Give? Not deal?

At first I thought it was Shaggy

Still good concept as for first time :crab:

Die Die
Like how he “strums” Maui in this clip. For lack of better words.

Thanks for telling me.

Thanks for telling me as well

How would I fix this

Thanks for the feedback, Musk!

I mean, I saw the movie, but not sure if PB could animated such thing in game.

Maybe countering evil frog named Kermit :smiling_imp:

“While dancing… allies bypass invincible buffs on enemies but deals 80% less damage to them.”
And the disk would reduced (the threshold) it by 10%, dealing more damage to invincible enemies per star.

At max instead of dealing 0 damage allies will be capable of bypassing invincible buffs on enemies, but dealing 30% less damage.

Can you word this in a way that I can edit it into the concept?
Thanks

Tamatoa starts dancing and while he dances all allies bypass invincibility buffs on enemies, however they will deal 80% less damage to them instead of a normal amount of their damage. The damage is unchanged on enemies without invincibility buffs.

Something like this, I guess.
