The Return of a Genuine Disney Villain

Ah, the villain. More often than not, these baddies are just people you can’t help but love even if you haft to hate them. Wheither it’s their love for what they do or there sinister, but catchy, tunes, these are the people we all just love to hate.

Unfortunately in recent films, the villain section has been sorely lacking. These days, the villains are now down to villain who are not that memorable, villains that turn into heroes, twist villains or no villain at all.

Which of course is fine for a little while, but every now and than i would wish for a full blown villain again that could be added to with the other memorable villains.

What do you think? Should they add a GENUINE villain to add to the Disney Villain hall of fame?

The only disney villain I hate is Gaston.
I´d kinda have liked it if Bing Bong was the villain, and not what at the end was…

… (this sounds like it came straight out of a Watch Mojo video)

Is that even a question? Of course!

Gray character villains are getting old fast.

I wish Disney Twist villains weren’t obvious. Zootopia’s twist villain was the only one I don’t think was obvious but they foreshadowed extremely well. But while cute and unsuspected on my part, they had no presence in the movie. Incredible 2 and Frozen’s twist villains were very obvious. A lot of the older Disney films have villains we know are bad but the characters in the story do not like Jafar and Scar so I’m not sure if you mean characters like them.

However I do like villains that aren’t just bad for bad’s sake. I like them to be actual characters. Especially when you can even relate to them in a way. The movie shows their viewpoint and you understand where they’re coming from. Like even Maleficent is a beloved villain but she’s just and evil because she wasn’t invited to a party (in the cartoon anyway). She’s just petty lol. That’s not saying just evil villains can’t be interesting. Hades and Oogie Boogie are fantastic characters.

I think it all depends on the narrative itself. I think just of late all the villains of the movies aren’t really the main threat in Disney movies nowadays. It’s mostly a personal journey for the hero and villains are just obstacles to jump over that’s why they’re forgettable.
