I love this game. It’s a remarkable concept.
Unfortunately, the game is on the verge (or already is in some cases) of becoming unplayable. The enemies are too overpowering, the badges are way too complicated, everything from skill points to badge crafting is way too expensive leaving us with virtually nothing and powering up and promoting takes way too long.
This game needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. And I think that I may have a few solution for Perblue to consider.
Difficulty Fitting the Rank
First thing first, with so many refreshes rolling out all at once, people face two different kinds of enemies nowadays: the tank and the wall.
The tank is the kind of enemy that it’s so overpowering that all they needs is one hit and most of your team is defeated with very little time to retaliate. The guilty party consists of Rex, Scar. Sally, Mike, and Randall among others.
The wall is the kind of enemy that no matter how powerful your team is, it leaves very very very little damage and take forever to even get half their HP down and either half your team is down or you time out rendering all progress pointless. The guilty party here consists of Sully and Boo, Clawhauser, Gerald, Marlin and Nemo, and Hades among others.
With these two enemies types, it almost like we are facing Emerald ranked enemies. This is completely unfair. So, here what I’m thinking, we have the difficulty of the enemy corespond to the rank they are in no more, no less. This way, we are not having to buckle resources to latest heroes and uses the heroes we want and at the same time still be challenged when in places we need to use certain heroes like friendship or trials. Thus it will save developers alot of time with refreshing any heroes.
Skills Level Up with Characters
With the level cap as far out there as it is, it’s kind of hard to keep up with the power demand because the cost of leveling up the skills is way too expensive. It gets to the point where players resort to using your hard earned gems to get more gold and even then you are left with no currency to speak of.
With this, I propose that PB takes a function from gacha games like AFK Arena and Mobile Legend and have the skills level up with the hero. It would save players tons of money (both game currency and real money) so they can buy resources they need like hero chips and badges and our gems would be spared so they can buy the bundles that are offered.
Badges Fits Ranks
With Emerald rank now in full swing, Badges will get more complicated as well as more expensive as it takes badges from lower ranks to craft in first place. It takes up time and gold to promote the heroes to the desired ranks. And even promoting has becoming something of a chore as you go through truck loads of stamina to craft badges. With problem coming up like not having enough bits from lower ranks to craft another badge (blue and purple being the main culprit) and ludicrous prices to craft the badge anyway (power craft or otherwise), it’s a task that everybody can safely say is frustrating and would often lose their patience over.
For this problem, much like enemy difficulty, let the badge recipes fit the rank. Get rid of bits and recipes that are completely unnecessary and have them stay in their rank. This will reduce the cost of crafting and raiding would decrease leaving plenty of time to actually play the game.
