Unfair behavior from Perblue

I’ve witnessed numerous instances of unfair behavior from Perblue, but their latest move truly stands out.

My guild dedicated an extraordinary amount of effort over the Christmas season to excel in the ongoing guild contest. While the experience has generally been enjoyable, especially as we engaged in strong competition with two other guilds to secure the top spot, this fervent contest came at a significant cost in terms of time, effort, and resources.

I bring this to your attention because I, along with a number of my friends and guildmates, am appalled by Perblue’s recent actions – a super obvioust display of anti-competitive and money-centric behavior.
On the final day of the contest, PB rendered all our hard work and resources essentially worthless by offering the top spot for cash. Anyone and a few guild mates can simply purchase the coveted medal. This is facilitated by the latest $49.99 deal, which includes 200,000 heist tokens, providing an instant 13.4 million points.

To put it in perspective, achieving such a point tally would necessitate using 37 million stamina pots, or spending 3.4 trillion gold, or participating in nearly 300 heists. These are tasks that would either cost a fortune in saved resources and/or span several days of effort. Catching up with players buying the deal in time is improssible.

As someone who has recently returned to the game, I find myself at a loss for what to think. The developers stooping to such depths to sell a few extra deals is seriously disheartening, making me question the integrity of the gaming experience.

Yep. It was happening when you left and is still happening now that you’re back. It’s clearly targeted at whales and not f2p or even minnows.

Granted, I think it’s gotten much better in terms of what you can do without paying, but they’re definitely out for the cash grab

Considering most of the rank rewards are… rather amusing to say the least, I can understand both points - why it may be a tempting deal for some, but not for the others.

All one can do with guild contest 1st place nowadays is to brag cause the output won’t really benefit the guildmates all that much.

Then again - they have to get money to run the game from somewhere. :man_shrugging:

Regardless of the rewards, it is a competition, and some people take it seriously and devote a lot of time to it. I agree with the OP, deals like that do ruin the fun as its insane amount of instant points, no time & effort involved.

Throwing them at the end of the tournament means people don’t have time to react. One moment you are sitting with a comfortable lead, the next moment you are behind with no time left on the clock.

The deal should have been at the start and with half of the tokens and it would have been perfectly fine to make money out of it.

Best spending (for a seller) is a hasty one - you can´t get that at the start of contest, obviously.

Again, I don´t try to defend the devs or anything, but that´s just how marketing goes. And above all, life is unfair, as sad as that is.

I agree. Except, that’s how bad marketing goes. They would make more money short term but make less money long term as they chase away their clientele.

Not to mention being greedy while there are game-breaking bugs in the game that go unfixed during the biggest holidays. I sure hope PB come up with an insane compensation for the Elite raid bug that has wasted hours of my holiday time.

I guess the refresh rate of spending community is still good.

You can probably write a book on this forum title and this be chapter one, but with the stamina changes made it is better than when u first left the game @Emitz .

As @The_Real_Numi said, they got to make their money some how, and enticing people who are spenders and competitive only spirit to pay to win a contest is a means of profit I suppose. Not saying it right, but makes sense in the gotch game mentality I suppose.
