I mean, yeah, more inside heroes, but why ruin the meta even more?
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they have some sort of internal benchmark for the % usage of new heroes they’d like to see in battles, and that currently the usage for certain newer heroes isn’t as high as they’d like because it’s still possible to create strong teams with older heroes.
By removing some of those possibilities with older heroes (eg. freeze, study) by introducing direct counters, which will be immediately available to those who spend, the goal would be to push players more towards the new heroes - ie the ones they have to pay for.
Eg. the strongest hero in the game at the moment is by far Cheshire Cat, but he’s really only used by the very top spenders - I don’t see him much in other player’s lineups. He’s already ridiculously strong, so enabling him even further doesn’t really affect that, and would potentially push more people into paying out to upgrade him.
It’s not terribly fair for those who don’t want to pay and get left behind, though.
Isn’t this their own fault? If they made things less expensive and easier to catch up, people would surely go for new heroes as they are clearly stronger. But they havent. And still they expect us to do what they want?

They should make it easier to catch up. But I don´t believe people would “surely go for new heroes as they are clearly stronger”. That is a mismatch.
And honestly they shouldn´t make it “less expensive” to catch up. Vice versa… devs should give enough stuff that F2Ps do at least semi-decently while leaving the deals at or near the state they are.
Thus closing the gap since… if you have 1x progress but fiver can get you +1x making it double progress versus having 1x progress but a fiver gets you only +0.5x making it just 1.5x not 2x. F2P players will be happy and P2Ps will spend the same.
They just want all alike players to spend more hence why they don´t make anything of what you said, nor it being less expensive, nor it being “easier”.

Surge only makes up for skill and badge costs. How about stamina and XP drinks?
Mega Mart for the latter. Stamina - well Mega Mart too in some kind, either lucky on Stamina Cost Refreshes… or just doing it day by day with the Free Stamina and Get More Stamina buy(s).
I would not buy the “Free Stamina” (soon to be called “Stamina Consumable”) anymore in older servers.
Which you need diamonds for
And why not?
In Mega Mart - 231 diamonds (250 without any reduction) for 32x items, which is 1920 stamina.
That´s 8.31 stamina/diamond.
If you can do first two get more stamina buys, that´s 2x626 = 1252 stamina for 100 diamonds.
That´s 12.52 stamina/diamond.
3 buys are 200 diamonds and you get 1878 stamina, which is 31(up to 50) diamonds less than in Mega Mart and you get only 52 stamina less.
3 stamina cost refreshes cost 188 diamonds (204 without any reduction).
So per 1 that´s 62.66 (up to 68).
Doing the 2 buys normally, then stamina cost refresh and one more buy gets you 1878 stamina for 150 + half of the stamina cost refresh cost = 31.33 (up to 34) diamonds.
Overall 181.33-184 diamonds, which is 16 diamonds less than without any get more stamina refresh.
So yes, DON´T BUY “FREE STAMINA” ON OLDER SERVERS!
The Stamina Consumables have one advantage, though: they don’t count towards the (kinda-)hard cap on raw stamina in the game. You can only get so much stamina from the Buy More Stamina before you have to spend it, whether you’re ready to use your double drop items or not.
You can store as many Stamina Cost Refreshes as you want though.
Well, anyway, update is available on Apple.

2 stamina buys + 1 refresh = 1252 stamina for 162.66 diamonds, or 7.70 stamina/diamond. It’s close, but it’s a little worse than the stamina consumables.
Wrong, unless you are VIP 0 you don´t need stamina refresh to do 2 stamina buys.
And in such case just don´t buy anything.
